Thoughtful, concerned, reliable, attentive, knowledgable. They did a massive and massively overdue pruning and clearing project. We will work with them again for sure!

Charles is exceptional in the way that he cares for trees. He considers their natural form, and prunes with that in mind, so that in the end the landscape looks both well groomed and natural. We have a number of specialty trees on our property that deserve more attention than the typical landscaping company would give them, and Charles and his crew gave them just that. In our consultation, Charles spent a lot of time to demonstrate his pruning methods, and on the job, he and his crew also spent extra time to touch up most of our plantings. We loved the overall result!

I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Charles on projects and watched his interactions with his clients. It's very clear that Charles' clients truly trust and value his professional inputs and recommendations. They have good reasons to because Charles is an accomplished landscape designer with exquisite taste and a very knowledgeable gardener and arborist. His designs are well-thought out, detailed and gorgeous. He and his team are very professional, friendly and a joy to work with. I would work with Charles again if the opportunity arises.

King turned a sandy desert populated with crab grass and surrounded by a miscellany of plantings into a real garden, with plantings carefully placed for effect, that , by the end of the season, had strangers wandering around, examining the plantings and taking notes. Furthermore the King team showed up often to check the plantings and provide advice.. They make house calls.

Charles designed and planted a courtyard between buildings at our church. It was an awkward space, shady and dominated by large trees and the soil was full of construction rubble. Charles worked with our volunteers to create plantings which are easy to maintain but which make the courtyard both a lovely green space for contemplation as well as inviting and practical for outdoor events. The impact was immediate and the plantings have improved with maturity and are frequently remarked upon by visitors.

We needed a consultation for our apple tree. Charles and Katherine were thorough and detailed, truly experts in their advice. We discussed various options and I felt I also received an intro education in apple tree pruning and general care. We didn't feel comfortable just asking a general landscaper for advice, I'm glad our friend's recommendation lead us to King Garden Designs.

colleague and mentor
Mr. & Mrs. Sadler are two of the most professional people I know. For me, Charles is an inspiration of what I could be one day. He has 20 or so quality articles. And many posts about quality plant care and landscape design that speak for their selfs. I suggest you seek out and follow on LinkedIn. Even though we are many states and time zones apart Charles has made the offer to speak with me even when between classes or flights. Since Mr. Sadler is willing to take that kind of time and sacrifice to speak with me, imagine the utmost attention you will receive as a client of King Garden Designs, Inc.

Charles has helped us several times with our now 60 yr old crab apple tree. This spring he did some special trimming and put the tree in a position to continue to survive our hard winters. He took special care to keep our old tree good looking good. The tree is very large and without his help, it could sustain damage in harsh weather. We always look to him for his expertise.

Charles is an incredible landscape designer. He is thoughtful, creative and respectful of your budget and timeline. He came up with a beautiful and practical plan for our house, and helped us implement it step by step. He oversaw the project and gave us updates along the way. I highly recommend Charles!

Charles and his crew did a wonderful job pruning our spiral topiaries and boxwood hedges, which had been neglected for many years. Their work was meticulous - they took their time, and Charles supervised from start to finish, as I did as well. It was a challenging job which was completed professionally. I did consider the project quite expensive, and while King's work was excellent, perfection may be a lot to ask for and perhaps cannot be achieved where nature is concerned. I will certainly work with them again and highly recommend them.
