I recently completed a project with Landscape Oasis, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. The project involved the demolition of existing stairs and patio, followed by the construction of an expanded deck, a new patio, and the installation of a hot tub. From the initial design phase to the final touches, everything went remarkably smoothly. A huge part of this positive experience was due to Andrew, the onsite project manager. His communication was excellent throughout the project. He kept me informed at every step, promptly addressed any questions I had, and ensured I was updated on the progress. It was reassuring to have someone so attentive and transparent on site. Additionally, Dave, the president of Landscape Oasis, regularly checked in to ensure everything was meeting my expectations. Despite some challenges with permitting and inspections due to unexpected town requirements, Dave and his team managed these seamlessly, ensuring the project stayed on track. The attention to detail and commitment to quality were evident in every aspect of the build. The craftsmanship of the deck and patio is outstanding, and I am thrilled with the results. I absolutely love my new outdoor space and am eagerly looking forward to working with Landscape Oasis again in the spring to complete the plantings and move on to the next phase of the project. We hired Landscape Oasis to design a complete redo of our back and side yards. David, Andrew, and Nathan were wonderful to work with on this project. David really listened to what we really wanted in our backyard and created a beautiful oasis that draws us outside. Andrew managed the project and made sure everything in the design came to fruition. Nathan’s knowledge of plants amazed us and what a job he did with planting over 500 plants in our yard! All three were also responsive to any of our concerns which let us put our trust in them. We were so pleased with their work, especially Ed’s masonry, that we had our front walkway replaced and had Landscape Oasis redo our front yard. They put a huge bed out in front yard that we were hesitant about due to the size, but we are thrilled with how it looks. We highly recommend Landscape Oasis!

We used Landscape Oasis to completely redesign and reimagine our entire property, and the final result is absolutely spectacular (multiple new garden beds in front/back/sides, peastone and paver walkways, a firepit/outdoor hangout area, formal garden, vegetable garden with raised beds, privacy hedges, fieldstone wall, new sheds, new lawn, lightning, irrigation, etc.) It was great working with David, the owner, but we want to give special shout outs to the entire Landscape Oasis team who were all amazing and did incredible work with exceptional attention to detail. The lead designer/architect, Andrew M, clearly saw our project as a both labor of love and an artistic opportunity to create something really special. Andrew put in an incredible amount of work to both craft a vision and was very responsive to our feedback and incorporating it. We love that the final design feels like "us" even though it was clearly developed and shaped by a master craftsman. The work that Andrew L did on both the landscape lighting and building raised cedar planter beds looks fantastic and draws praise from visitors and other tradespeople/contractors. Nathan L brought a depth of passion and expertise for care of both the new plantings and the existing plants that we kept or replanted. This quality also extends to the broader team of subcontractors that David brought in. Everyone who touched the project had extremely high standards and quality of work and it definitely shows in the completed installation (we really respect/appreciate how clean everyone kept the work site over a period of multiple months - that shows the pride and quality that the entire Landscape Oasis team has in their work). As with any architect/contractor, you get out of the process what you put in. Landscape Oasis made it easy to be highly engaged with the process and was very responsive to feedback/suggestions. We got off to a later start than we initially thought (they're in high demand), but once work started Landscape Oasis ran on time/schedule. Everyone at Landscape Oasis, and the folks they brought in, worked tirelessly to create something truly special. The new landscape is a delight and we're excited to see it blossom in the spring and continue to grow over the coming years!

Landscape Oasis built us a beautiful walkway around 15 years ago. There was a little bit of settling that affected a few pavers and granite steps. We contacted David Hancox at Landscape Oasis and his team came out and adjusted the steps and pavers. The team was so meticulous and everything looks absolutely perfect! We cannot be happier with Landscape Oasis and would strongly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a gorgeous front yard.

We worked with the Landscape Oasis team to develop a plan to enhance and beautify all of our outdoor spaces. David and Andrew were extremely attentive and thoughtful and took time to fully assess the property (sun, drainage, existing plantings) as well as understanding our desires. The resulting plan was everything we could have hoped for, and established a multi-year plan to revitalize our property. Phase 1 was completed this summer and looks beautiful, and we have been extraordinarily happy with the post-planting support to ensure we are happy and the plantings are thriving. We have used the Landscape Oasis team for 2 jobs over the last 4-5 years. The first was a complete redesign of our backyard and landscaping including a new patio, back stairs, and fence. The quality of the work was exceptional as was the focus on the little details. 5 years later the entire thing still looks great and quality of the work speaks for itself. We recently used the team to repair drainage for our sump pump system including running new underground pipes to help move the water away from the house. It was a bit of an urgent job given all the rain this summer and the team was efficient and creative in coming up with solutions to help us get this job done. If you are looking for high quality landscaping I'd highly recommend you talk to this team to get their ideas.

We hired Landscape Oasis to design and manage a complete redo of our front and back yards, including leveling the back yard and adding a retaining wall, and adding landscaping, hardscape, a pool, hot tub, pergola and lighting within a relatively small lot. As part of the design, David and his team worked with us to address sun coverage, drainage and storm water control, and privacy, where we found the team quite knowledgeable on all fronts. David has cultivated close relationships with his hand-picked subcontractors, and it really shows in the quality and ownership of the work. We were happy with both the ongoing interactions and with the end results from all teams who contributed. David or his team were on hand every day to make sure everything was working smoothly and on time, and to address anything that came up during construction. We had a lot of fun interacting with the team throughout the project. They were very responsive to feedback and thoughtful in their responses. We always felt that we were getting good and honest guidance. In addition to the overall quality of the work, we were impressed with David’s accuracy and transparency regarding pricing and came away from the project very happy and without any unexpected expenses. Expenses and timelines were laid out clearly and thoroughly, with contingencies built in so we knew ahead of time what to expect. We were really impressed with what they managed to do in a relatively small space. Excellent work, beautiful and thoughtful designs, and a great team that kept the project on track.

David and his team were amazing to work with. It truly is hard to find a landscape designer who will do everything he says he will, and stay on a consistent and accurate timeline. He redesigned and essentially redid our entire front, side, and backyards, and it all came out wonderfully. He does a great job and makes sure everything functions and will last for years to come. The quality of work, in addition to the contractors he works with, were excellent and we are extremely pleased with the outcome. Our project was no easy feat but he was realistic with deadlines, costs, and made sure to answer all my questions in a timely manner. There's a reason why he's in such high demand. If you need a job done and done right and beautifully, David is your guy!

David and his crew helped to redesign our backyard which included adding a pool and spa. He had a close relationship with the pool company and was able to coordinate the pool landscaping design directly with the pool company which was extremly helpful and efficient. Our property also backs up to a wetland so our project required approval from our town's wetlands protection committee which was a complex and time-consuming endeavor. David was well versed in the process and had relationships with the appropriate experts needed for planning and presenting to the committee. The end product was exactly as we had envisioned. His team was always exceptionally professional and knowledgeable.

Really have enjoyed my first project with Landscape Oasis. From the very first meeting (which was educational far beyond scoping the work) I sensed this team was professional, honest and talented. I was right. The design process was exciting - they really took the time to understand what I was seeking in terms of both hardscape and plantings. And once we got the work scheduled they kept up a great pace. There was no issue with delays or miscommunication - they were on the job every day until it was finished. And the work they did was just beautiful. I can't recommend them enough!

We hired Landscape Oasis to do the landscaping after we put in our pool last fall. David and his crew were very attentive, thoughtful and considerate to help us enhance and beautify the pool area, waterfall and backyard. Had a twice-failed project and was very wary but Dave worked through it with me and helped come up with a master plan. Once the work was scheduled, it was done quickly and professional and looks great! He is easy to work with and appreciated our budget constraints. We highly recommend David Hancox and Landscape Oasis. David is a true professional who manages to be both highly creative, practical, a good listener as well as an excellent communicator. We hired him to design a challenging, mostly north facing lot and site and design an area for a new hot tub. He turned our lot from boring and predictable to something unique. He is also great at hardscaping and lighting, sourcing quality products and recommending the appropriate ongoing maintenance. He was honest about supply chain delays which we very much appreciated and stuck to our budget (remarkable!).

We hired David Hancox from Landscape Oasis to replace our concrete walkway, upgrade our front steps, and create a new patio in our yard last spring. The Landscape Oasis crew did an amazing job creating the new installations. David was a constant presence, from materials selection to final inspection. As installation progressed David and his crew addressed various issues that came up, including redirecting the downspouts into buried piping, away from the new work, and additional site grading, all within the contracted price. His recommendation to hire Amaral Industries to fabricate and install our wrought iron stair railings was spot on! Our project was a relatively small one for Landscape Oasis, but David gave it the time and the attention of much larger projects. The project is beautiful! I highly recommend Landscape Oasis.

I reached out to David when I decided it was time to redesign my landscaping around the house. He was the only person I contacted. I have probably known David for forty years. He started out mowing lawns in my neighborhood and my parents hired him. They were impressed by his entrepreneurial spirit at such a young age. His bicycle was soon hauling a trailer since his business and reputation grew rapidly. Eventually he had to build more storage space for his landscape equipment at his house. Fast forward he ended up getting a degree in landscape architecture. This certainly was not a surprise. I am glad his passion and skillset has grown his small business into a very successful company. We just can't say enough about how pleased and impressed we are with our completed back yard project. It was a complete transformation that included a new pool patio, system of field stone retaining walls and granite steps, athletic turf which can be used to practice golf and pet friendly, irrigation, water and run-off management, up lighting, and installation of new trees, shrubs, and plants. We initially hired Landscape Oasis for a mature tree transplant. It was a small project but was handled so well and looked so good we contracted them for a large masonry project. We would and have recommended David, Andrew and the rest of the Landscape Oasis team.

For many years we didn’t know what to do with our awkward odd shaped corner lot backyard. We spent little if any time in our yard. That is until we had the good fortune to seek out David and his team. What we thought was an impossible project truly became an oasis. David and his team crafted a detailed and clear plan for the hardscape and plantings that was implemented with precision and exquisite attention to detail. The end result was exceptional and beyond what we could have imagined. David and all of his employees are honest and extremely knowledgeable. Landscape Oasis did a great job with our project. We had a large sink hole with a collapsing wall and David came up with a great design solution. We now have a beautiful natural stone wall, no sink hole, significantly increased usable lawn area, and a beautiful bed of perennials and flowering trees along the fence line. He also came up with the perfect way to bring the equipment in to minimize visible damage to the other lawn areas. And those areas were reseeded and look great already. The crews that did the work were professional and hard working. They were able to complete the project start to finish in two weeks. They paid attention to every detail and when done - it really was 100% complete, including all repairs and reconfiguration needed for the irrigation system. They truly care about the work they do and it shows. We are extremely pleased with not only the outcome, but the process as well. Highly recommended

We spent many months with David and his team on a large, complicated backyard project, complete with a pool, pool shed, retaining wall, pavilion, fire pit, hot tub, and a lot of hardscape to tie it all together and a fence all around. We have never worked with a project leader and crew that were so honest, open-minded, talented, friendly, and just great to work with. David has an amazing eye for what will work in an outdoor space, from the design phase and throughout the project. He was flexible and patient with our changes, which inevitably happen as we wanted to add features (like the fire pit and hot tub). In 1997 we hired David Hancox for our first landscaping project at our new house, and over the past nearly 24 years he and his team have addressed multiple drainage issues, built a patio, created a lawn area, installed stone walls and walkways (twice), redesigned our front entrance (twice), and planted more trees and shrubs than I could ever count. We have had a fantastic experience working with David and the Landscape Oasis team. We moved into a house with undisclosed major drainage and grading issues that led to repeated flooding in the basement. We went through 6 other companies before finding Landscape Oasis, and all had the same story: they would assess the problem, promise that they could fix it, and then either come back to us with a plan that didn’t address the issues and that they wouldn’t stand behind, or would simply stop responding. From our first meeting with David it was clear that he had the expertise necessary to resolve our complex problem. He came up with a very detailed plan and took the time to address all of our questions and concerns. Construction was smooth, and David was in constant communication throughout the process. We also truly appreciated his attention to our tight timeline. We were expecting our 3rd baby only a few weeks after approving David’s final plan, and we really wanted the problem resolved and construction competed before the baby arrived. David checked in continually and ensured that everything was done with time to spare. David came into a situation where we were in need of not only landscaping but a major drainage solution for our property. He was very patient during the design phase and accepted feedback very well. We collaborated on a design that took into account our needs and balanced it with his extensive knowledge and experience. We have used David Hancox for 2 projects, in 2017 and in 2008. Our yard sits on the top of a hill. The first project involved the back hill and the second involved the side walkway and more on the back hill. Both projects involved Unilock retaining walls, stone work, moving of existing plants, planning new plantings, and drainage pipes. We were pleased with the work, easy to talk with David to discuss plans and to make changes. Work was done in a timely fashion with some inevitable schedule changes. Professional workers.

Start to Finish great experience. David responded to my request for a landscape lighting quote quickly. He explained the installation process and answered all my questions about materials to be used. His proposal was clear, including the payment schedule and he was flexible with my requests. David made recommendations for electricians and arborists but was willing to work with contractors of my choosing. Landscape Oasis has a team of talented installers. The mason was able to run wires beneath a cobblestone apron and paver walkways and returned them to original. Other installers were courteous and checked if I had any concerns and double checked on the placement of switches. All work was completed professionally and in a timely manner. I had a positive experience working with Landscape Oasis and recommend their service without reservation.

We hired David to help us make our front yard beautiful! It was extremely overgrown with lots of bare spots. We wanted something classic and low maintenance. David efficiently create a planting plan, a quote, and a timeline. He used as many of our current plants as possible in his plan and he even moved some plants from other areas of our yard in order to keep our costs low. He and his crew were here to complete the job on time and on budget. When he hit a project snag because one plant was too close to the gas lines to be moved, he quickly gave us several wonderful alternatives that were still within our original budget. David was a pleasure to work with and he has a true passion for what he does. He continues to stop by to check on the plants to see how they are doing. He replaced two plants that were getting too much sun exposure at no cost to us. He is a true professional!

My husband reached out to several landscape architects in our area and it was immediately obvious whom we wished to choose. David Hancox was head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of professionalism and service just based on the process of receiving a quote. He provided a professionally drawn design of the project with his quote which was well written and typed out. In contrast, someone else left us a handwritten description and quote written on a scrap (i.e., torn) piece of paper stuck in our door. From there the service only went up. He met with us personally to talk about exactly what we wanted - insisted we both attend the initial meeting so that there would be no miscommunication between my husband and me (lol - I think he knows us/couples in general well). He provided great ideas (we are a little clueless in this area) and ensured we stayed within our budget. (Yes, he will cost a little more than others but I promise you he will be far more attentive, and likely far more knowledgeable, than anyone else, and provide only the highest level service.) We had him redo our entire front walkway and front steps, all new landscaping in the front (new plants, bushes and trees), and he repaired our back patio which was originally done very poorly. He also fixed our irrigation system for the area we re-did. And when he decided he didn't like where part of it was sitting, he paid the plumber himself to move it! The project was completed well within our time frame, his workers were exceptionally courteous, he was available to answer every question, and Dave himself is just an upstanding guy. He is always going to take the ethical route - he won't sell you something he doesn't think is a good idea or that he thinks is likely to fail in some way. We could not have had a better experience. We have received so many compliments on the truly beautiful work he and his crew has done for us. You will not be disappointed choosing Landscape Oasis!

David did an outstanding job with our project, including a complete renovation of our backyard and front walkway areas. The design is terrific, incorporating a large paver patio and fireplace, beautiful trees, shrubs, and perennials on one side of our backyard and a level grassy area on the other side where our elementary-aged kids can play soccer and other lawn games. In front we have an attractive curved brick walkway, again accented by beautiful trees, shrubs, and perennials. We appreciated David's personal attention to detail, horticultural knowledge and landscaping expertise, and the quality of his team. The combination of terrific masonry and beautiful plantings have created a great oasis for our family.

This project transformed our rundown urban back and side yards into an inviting space for entertaining and a much safer and accessible space for day-to-day activities. David re-envisioned our unusable back yard into an inviting patio surrounded by bushes and perennial plantings. He transformed our previous ‘dog yard’ into a garden space with a field-stone path. All of our garden areas, front and back, now have in-ground irrigation. Deteriorating cement stairs were all replaced with lovely (and safer) granite stairs with custom handrails that complement our 1920’s house. And deteriorating, tilted cement walkways were replaced with beautiful bluestone. This project was all-the-more impressive since the area is on a hill with very limited access to machinery – a problem solved by simultaneously removing a section of broken wall to get access then replacing it with a much sturdier repair. All-in-all this was a wonderful upgrade of a difficult to work on space.

My husband and I recently built a house on a corner lot that abuts a somewhat busy street. Having little privacy and a blank slate to work with, we wanted to find a landscape architect with experience and vision to help us create a backyard sanctuary. We also wanted to space out our project over the course of 5 years. When we contacted David, he was very responsive and excited to help us plan our landscape design. He also had no problem with phasing our project. We were impressed with his vast knowledge of plants and materials. He was upfront about what kind of things were worth the extra money, and how to best stay on budget. David had us fill out an extensive questionnaire to help make the initial design. He came up with a great preliminary plan, and we worked together to make changes to get it exactly where we wanted it to be. He was very easy to reach by e-mail and met with us in the evening/weekends to discuss things. This week, David planted several privacy trees for us and did a great job. They are of different varieties (white pine, cedar, balsam fir) and spaced nicely as to not look artificial. He also installed a drip line into our irrigation system and nicely mulched the area. The job was done in 2 days and on budget. Plus, he provided us with information on how to care for our new trees. So far, we are very pleased with the services David has provided and are excited to continue on with the next steps of our project. We would highly recommend David and Landscape Oasis!

This project turned out fabulously. We had a large area in our yard that we couldn't grow anything in for years. David came over and studied our yard and came up with a plan. He chose perennials appropriately for both sun and shade. He also balanced it for color year round. The entire yard came together and has looked great all summer and fall. We couldn't be more pleased.

Our backyard is now truly a landscape oasis thanks to the excellent work that David Hancox and his team did. Our project consisted of replacing a 12x24 boring bluestone patio into a much larger, elegant outdoor living space with two sitting walls, multiple seating areas, decorative boulders, many beautiful new plantings, outdoor lighting, and a much improved irrigation system. We also rebuilt an existing small deck and removed a large, under-used slider and secondary deck to make way for a large picture window and new planting beds. From start to finish, the whole project was executed with the utmost care, skill, and professionalism. David has an effective, consultative 'needs assessment' process that he used to inform the designs that he initially developed. He was receptive to our feedback and suggestions throughout the process, and was able to push back effectively when he thought our suggestions wouldn't work as well (and he was always right in doing so!). When it came to executing the project, David brought in a couple of terrific subcontractors for the masonry and carpentry work who share his firms' high standards around quality of craftsmanship, reliability, efficiency, and customer service. They all worked together as an effective team to deliver a fantastic finished product that we love. For the landscaping part of the project, David proposed a design that re-used our existing trees, shrubs, and perennials while dramatically expanding the size of the planting beds and adding in many beautiful new items that will provide year-round color and interest. He took us to a couple of nurseries to show us the best of what was available, and then modified his original design to incorporate some new plants that caught our eye. The project was done on time and on budget without any surprises, and the job site was left in good shape every day. Everybody showed up when they said they would, worked hard, and delivered an excellent finished product. I would recommend Landscape Oasis without hesitation or qualification. Our backyard was flooding every time it rained and David did a great job installing a drainage system that allowed our children to once again enjoy our yard! As soon as I contacted David, he came to our home and explained what needed to be done. Once we agreed, David stuck to the schedule he promised, was easy to reach by phone and email and did a great job fixing our problem. Once completed, David stopped by our home to check out the backyard and make sure it was draining properly. We have been puddle free for a couple of years now and very happy with Landscape Oasis. We hired David to transform our backyard into a complete outdoor living and dining entertainment space - he did not disappoint. While meeting with several landscapers late last year to get quotes on a couple of projects I wanted done, I had met with David as well. We walked the areas I was focused on and he ended up meeting me at my house a couple of times to discuss exactly what I had in mind. He was patient and asked questions to ensure he and I were on the same page. It became clear he was a creative landscaper and not just someone who mowed lawns. His quote was a bit higher than other quotes I received, so I could have gone with other companies to save money. But they didn't ask the questions David did, nor did they spend even half the time he did with me. I knew he was the person I wanted to go with. The fact that David lives in my town was an added bonus, as I want to support local. Because I wanted to sit on a couple of major decisions, we pushed the projects to the following year. We spoke no less than ten times before the Spring: once again, David and I talked through some details and he answered all my never-ending questions. And mind you, this was all BEFORE putting any deposit down or signing any contract. Once all the decisions were made and everything was finalized, David took me to a couple of nurseries to get an idea of what plant selections I liked and didn't like. That trip was so valuable; we ended up changing out a few choices that I THOUGHT I wanted, for others that I ended up being so much more happy with. Throughout the two week timeframe that he was working in my yard, he kept me updated on timelines and what he would accomplish each day. He was highly communicative, and continued to answer my questions along the way. The end result was stunning. It had been a long time dream of mine to create English gardens and he made it materialize. I could not have been happier with the end result ! As a side note, just before wrapping up the project, David accidentally ran over a can of spray paint and caused it to spray on my driveway. Not only did he contact me right away to let me know what happened and take ownership of it, but he had already set up a local company to seal my entire driveway for free. That showed integrity. (Btw my driveway is almost 200 feet long - he could have just had the ten foot area that was discolored redone but didn't.) Overall it was such a positive experience. I highly recommend David and Landscape Oasis. I already have him lined up for another project next year.

I hired David to design a new front of house landscape. I found him on the Internet and was glad he lived in the same town. I had been looking for a person who could actually design to my specific needs and wants. David designed the area superbly and welcomed our input. David designed and constructed a gorgeous back yard and garden for us in a space that posed tremendous challenges. Our house is built on a hill, and the "back yard" was a disaster -- a dangerous weedy slope littered with the remains of an old retaining wall. David's design included hillside garden defined by a new retaining wall that follows a beautiful curve, with granite steps on one end that lead to a lawn and more gardens on the lower level.
