My wife and I faced a dilemma after our neighbors removed several 75' trees which bordered our respective properties. The dilemma was that our privacy was gone. We considered multiple ways to address the problem but it was a challenge to come up with a good solution. Fortunately, we learned of Karen Chapman from friends who hired her to design their garden. Their final result was an amazing transformation and we knew that we wanted to work with her. Our back yard was neat but also very nondescript and unattractive, with a lawn that sloped down towards the rear of the property. We had a deck on the side of the house with patio furniture and this is where we spent most of our outdoor time. The rest of the property was not interesting and was never used. Karen took us on a journey that we could have never imagined. What we appreciated most about her was that during our first meeting she asked what our goals were and what we wanted to accomplish with a new garden. She listened. She paid attention to the art work and colors in our house because she wanted the outside to complement the inside. She took time to get a sense of who we were and what was important to us. She then proceeded to design a beautiful garden with multiple functional areas to entertain and relax that was beyond our wildest dreams. Karen is a brilliant and focused professional who cares about people and creating outdoor spaces that are extensions of them and improves their quality of life. In addition, she is an absolute joy to work with and has a very fun sense of humor. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Karen. The end result of what she created has enhanced our lives immensely.

We're so happy we used Karen for our backyard redesign. The end result is that our small grassy area has been transformed into a wonderful sitting/dining/flower bed that seems so much larger and user friendly than it was before. Karen also recommended a very talented team of professionals who worked together to accomplish everything we'd hoped for. They were Berg's Landscaping, and Woodmark Construction.
