Sasha and his team did great work on our backyard and we're thrilled to continue working with them for upcoming projects. Sasha was very attentive to our requests and specifications, but also greatly improved our plans with his design expertise. Job foreman Carlos is not only a highly skilled contractor, he is also incredibly attentive, accommodating and kind. We are so glad we founds Sasha and Little Miracles Designs. Sasha has a keen sense of landscape design and is a plant expert who goes above and beyond. We had a blank slate in our Brooklyn backyard and he turned it into a functional space with swings, a pergola, deck, greenery, and even space for a hot tub. A highlight is the flower boxes he built -- and planted -- in our front area. Passersby regularly stop to take pictures of the flowers he and the team chose. He and his team are reliable, quick, courteous, professional, and they do high-quality work. And they stand by their work. If they make a mistake, they will fix it. We have worked with quite a few contractors/builders in recent years and Sasha stands out by far as the best. We'd highly recommend Little Miracles Designs to work on your project.

Sasha was wonderful to work with. We pursued a full backyard renovation at our home in Park Slope after experiencing repeat flooding. We knew we needed to do significant work to mitigate the flooding and took the opportunity to redesign our yard to meet our long-term goals as a family. Sasha came in with expertise on how to re-slope, waterproof, and add proper drainage to our property. This was on top of his clear skillset in landscape design. His team was fantastic to work with. Each person involved in working on our property was timely, professional, and respectful of keeping our interior space as clean as possible while bringing backyard material through the house. Sasha was consistently easy to reach, responsive to our needs, and confident in guiding us through a project that began under stressful circumstances (significant interior flood damage). Sasha and Carlos did a fantastic job on our terrace! We first got screwed by another company who literally destroyed our terrace and house while charged us double the money. Our building management recommended Little Miracles Designs to help us fixing the situation, and Sasha and Carlos came in the next day. Sasha and his foreman Paulino and the rest of the crew did an excellent job redoing our garden drainage system, adding waterproofing and installing a beautiful bluestone patio, pot garden, different gardening areas and a gorgeous cedar fence. What an amazing transformation! The team was always responsive, on time and were diligent and efficient, and did excellent work. The project was done earlier than expected, and they left everything cleaner than it was in the first place.

Had a wonderful experience with Sasha, from conception to execution he has been exceptional, with a rare sens of details and perfection.

I was hoping to give Sasha the benefit of the doubt, but I think it's only fair after being hung up on / declining finishing our project that I feel the need to share our entire experience with Sasha for folks to be made aware of the truth. Sasha is a designer with great vision. Unfortunately, he is a terrible business person and consistent with other negative reviews found online, thinks his "experience" designing hundreds of projects allows him to treat his clients like garbage, including missing deadlines, re-negging on promises, and then blaming you for various project failures/issues rather than taking any ownership for his mistakes. We hired Sasha to do a full hardscaping/landscaping project for our 1250sq ft backyard in Brooklyn. We were on what we considered to be a reasonable budget of $50-60k to install a pergola/ platform deck, some custom planters, painting and extending by 18 inches our existing fence, and reshaping our existing artificial lawn. The project was supposed to begin in early April and be completed by early May. The day construction began, he asked my wife and I to make a decision on deck color, paint color immediately - something that we would have assumed he'd have the foresight to ask us well in advance of the project starting. We had to hastily make a decision within 1-2 days, being limited to only what was in stock at the local Lowes. One week into construction, his lead carpenter took a 1 week vacation, which then rolled into a week of rain storms, resulting in a two week delay to the project. There were numerous instances of him trying to take shortcuts, poor ordering planning resulting in further delays (i.e. delivery of Trex deck boards and fence boards), his team not showing up to work on days we had agreed b/c "the weather forecast doesn't look great", his team clocking in workdays of 8am-2pm with a 30min lunch break, and the list goes on. Fast forward to Memorial Day weekend and the project had still not been completed. We agreed to put the plant installation and construction of another planter/bench on hold until this Spring given it was already too hot to plant certain plants/flowers in June 2022. Again, I was hoping to let these prior issues slide if we could simply get our project completed this Spring...which brings me to today. I reached out to Sasha in early Jan to re-engage on the final phase of the project which was not completed last year due to delays. He told me that just doing planting and installing the final bench/planter was not worthwhile for him and wanted to offload the work to someone else. He re-negged on what he had promised us and we are now stuck with no plants in the $6,000 planter he charged us to construct (which is already starting to warp). Oh he also hung up on us after I expressed my displeasure with his service. I would highly recommend avoiding Sasha unless you want to deal with an arrogant yet incompetent contractor. Paid $58,000 for an incomplete yard.

Being a design snob, I researched several portfolios of landscape designers within the Brooklyn area. I fell in love right away with Sasha's designs. What drew me to his work was that he didn't look at the project as a standard box to design in. He thought of ways to design based off the vantage point you enter the garden, which created a very welcoming and beautiful result. He also has an amazing eye for combining different texture, materials, and color. Little Miracles has a passion for landscape design and years of experience. I'm so happy with my garden and I'm excited to soak it up for many years to come.

We used Little Miracle Designs for our backyard in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Sasha is an extremely talented designer, able to envision a beautiful space using a blank canvas. He had ideas we would have never thought of and was able to make our space both functional and beautiful. We loved how he presented us with what was possible and quoted each piece of the project. Sasha and his team at Little Miracles Designs are amazing! They were able to turn our simple grass patch of a backyard into a very functional and elegant garden. The design encompassed building out wooden and Corten metal planters, constructing Ipe benches for additional seating, expanding pavers to cover the entire garden floor and building an awesome custom grill area out of Ipe wood and subway metal grates. From the first consultation to the final walk through, Sasha and his team (Carlos & Herson) were professional and able to answer any concerns we had about the project. Sasha brings a unique blend of talents to the landscaping design industry. He has vision, design, knowledge of botany, eye and care for details, passion for his work, and most of all, a superb delivery! I felt I was in good hands, while my project was in the works. This is because every time Sasha came by for another mini meeting, I got to pick his brain, learning tons about the industry and design. In a way, I welcomed the fact that projects always take longer then planned, because it meant I had more time to digest my options about little details that came up. This project felt like a true partnership, with Sasha always taking the time to ask about my preferences when options popped up, and learning about a whole new world of landscape design along the way. The before and after pictures, the results, speak for themselves, but I wanted to express my admiration for the man behind the vision, and the joy of this creative process.

Our backyard was falling apart and need a major renovation. Sasha gave us several design options and price ranges to work with. We decided to go with an Asian feel that coincided with our home. Paulino did the brunt of the work and excavation that we needed. Sasha came by on a regular basis to inspect the work and make sure we were satisfied. Sasha also worked with us on selecting and picking the appropriate plants to go along with our aesthetic. We are extremely pleased with the end result and would consult and work with Little Miracle Designs on future projects.

Sasha is creative and innovative. His use of unusual materials bring an elevated design aesthetic to his projects. Sasha is very professional and keeps the project timeline running smoothly.

I hired Sasha to build some planters. The process started out well enough where he came by with lots of photos of work he said he had done and promised to do the same for us. Once construction began it became clear a bait and switch was being pulled. He installed cheap driftwood instead of what he showed in sample photographs during the design phase. And then didn’t even fully cover the planters we hired him to build because he “thought we wouldn’t see it”. That’s what I dealt with constantly - being told one thing to get the business but delivery of something completely different. The final straw was when a cladded wall he had put up with planter boxes came crashing down. If you have pets or small children as we do, its not worth the risk to their safety to hire Sasha. His foreman Paulino said that Sasha hadn’t sent him with enough nails to properly secure the wall and they’d be back to sure it up. Sasha did come back but never did anything about the fact their work was falling apart almost immediately after being installed; despite it being repeatedly pointed out and clearly listed as a punch list item. On the plus side, Paulino was fantastic and is the only reason we have anything to show for engaging LMD. But none of the workers that came to our house had PPE. Perhaps not that big a deal in this case since they were working outside, yet still an excellent indicator of what you’re dealing with. In the end, I spent thousands of dollars cleaning up this mess. If you choose to engage LMD, I would advise getting anything they say or verbally promise in writing, since it won't be delivered otherwise.

We spent a few hours reviewing our current yard and outdoor area. Sasha was very helpful, provided actionable and practical ideas that we intend to implement in the spring- highly recommended!

We hired Little Miracles Design after meeting with several companies. Sasha's design and artistry was immediately apparent: he listened to my ideas for the space, had interesting references already on hand (which showed to me that he really knew his stuff and had a rich source of inspiration) and then talked me through his thoughts by hand drawing them then and there. I left feeling incredibly excited. And the finished garden truly is beautiful. We love it. It is exactly how I wanted it: clean lines, interesting perspectives and imaginative use of space. We also have been able to do things with it that we never thought possible in terms of lighting, fans, hanging elements (such as a detachable swing for our son). I pride myself on my attention to design and details but there were things I would say to Sasha "ah, don't worry about that, it's only small" and he would insist on doing things perfectly. He is a perfectionist and an artist. However... it was the way Little Miracles did the work that really impressed us. We were nervous to do the job because all the materials had to come in through the house (and the junk had to go out through the house!), it was Fall/Winter and we had a newborn baby upstairs. We were worried for the disruption. We needn't have. Sasha's team (led by Carlos) were impeccable. They were quiet, turned up on time every day, exceedingly polite, nothing was ever too much trouble and the house always looked perfect after they had left. Nothing was ever broken or damaged and, honestly, much of the time we did not even know we were there. No complaints of noise from neighbors. And Sasha perfectly arranges for the dumpster to be delivered, all materials to be delivered. And, of course, Sasha turned up at the house every day and was available 7 days a week to talk through the project. Which, I will add, was done on time and on budget... with additional things even being done I could not recommend them more highly and I'm so pleased we decided to go with a company that are both artistic and highly professional. We consider it money well spent. Thank you to you all. I'd also be happy to speak to anyone for a verbal recommendation - Sasha will put you in touch.

Sasha and his company were excellent and a pleasure to work with. They completely redid our Harlem brownstone’s back yard. Sasha worked closely with us to design the back yard to meld our goals and tastes with his great design skills. He was then very clear and direct on the cost and how different choices would affect it. After we signed the contract, he and his crew got to work very quickly and, in contrast to many other contractors we’ve worked with, were a pleasure to work with. They met deadlines and Sasha communicated well when they would be coming. They also were very conscientious about keeping our house clean as they worked, which was not easy while they were doing some initial demolition work in our back yard. We’re now very happy with our new back yard and we can’t wait for warmer weather to use it and see our new plants grow in. In short, we had a great experience with Little Miracles and would not hesitate to recommend them.

We hired Sasha to bring some order and contemporary interest to our small patio space in Cobble Hill. We didnt have a limitless budget and we werent looking to do a very involved design, rather streamline the space and make it as effortless as possible for upkeep while making it attractive year-round. Sasha was very helpful, was happy to take on a project that maybe wasnt the biggest creative challenge, but he still gave great advice, and came in at a budget that seemed fair and reasonable. My one small issue was that the project took a little longer than expected, but his guys were very courteous and organized and did great work. Also, Sasha has made clear that he will help us in the future if we have any questions as the garden grows - i appreciate his willingness to assist over the long-term life of the garden! Very happy working with Sasha and would gladly recommend him.

We hired Sasha and Little Miracles Designs earlier this year to renovate the backyard garden in our new Harlem home. After having worked with several home contractors in recent years, we were impressed by Sasha’s professionalism throughout the entire process from design to execution. He helped us bring our vision to life before we could even articulate exactly what we wanted. His crew is wonderful, working with precision and care. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and left the interior of our home spotless, even on days when they had to carry heavy equipment and supplies from the main entrance of our ground floor apartment and through our master bedroom to reach the outdoor area. I wish I can give Shasha the owner 0 start review. Worst experience I ever had. He came took $500 for a hand drawing and promise to come back with more plans. Very hard to reach very hard to bring your vision as well. Came back took another deposit and show us plans( not what we asked) when we told him that we like his plans but want to change a bit a got so upset and said ” you Don't like what I did don't want to work with you!) I wrote to him several emails with no response, I ask for my money back no response. The first experience with a rude person that tries to act like he knows better than anyone else. Don't do any business with this guy or if you want Don't say a ward about what he did and agree with him even if you Don't like it. Zero services zero quality zero in all aspects!! Shame on you Sasha!!!!

We had a fantastic experience with Little Miracles, start to finish. Sasha came out to consult with us a few times while we finalized our design, and was always helpful in it. He told us, "you tell me what you want to do with the space, let me worry about the problems." We know nothing about landscaping or gardening, and transformed our Brooklyn backyard from a mosquito-and-weed-infested pit to the backyard of our dreams. It's perfect for our daughter to play in, and for us to relax outside. Sasha's team was professional and efficient, and he was on site pretty much every day to make sure the work proceeded smoothly. The project was on budget, and he always consulted with us about any additional items we wanted to add--he was never pushy. If you have an urban backyard or a similar space you're looking to transform, we highly recommend working with Sasha. You will be glad you did!

I had a terrible experience with Sasha and LIttle Miracle Designs. As the last step in my brownstone renovation was the outside space. While I was impressed during our initial meeting every step that followed was dreadful. He was late, cancelled meetings, didn't listen to what I wanted. After completing an extensive plant question list he didn't follow what I liked and did not like. He didn't discuss all of his plans with me. After repeatedly not showing up when agreed I had to tell him not to come back.

From the first moment I talked to Sasha, I knew I was dealing with a professional. I live in a brownstone, (everything had to come through the apartment). I wanted to have Synlawn installed. Sasha helped me with the planning and the design. His input made all the difference. The workmanship was superb, they cleaned up each day, nothing was damaged. The price was reasonable and the end result was better than I expected. Thanks, Sasha.

We hired Sasha to draw up potential deigns for our backyard. He did an amazing job, was so engaged and had so many great ideas, still listening to what we were looking for and ensuring all was incorporated in. I engaged Sasha to consult on my back yard design. He spent an hour with me, and it was the best investment I could have made! Shasha opened my eyes to the space's potential, and allowed me to input my own creativity, without imposing his preferences. We hired a Little Miracle and i can only said that it was, to the contrary of many construction companies we worked with in the past, an excellent experience ! The owner of the company Sasha was always on site with his team, developed a great design, follow through all the materials deliveries, come back with clear questions if any, short meetings, efficient and he sticked to the budget and the timing. I really strongly recommend Little Miracle !!

We have worked with Sasha on a few projects on Toronto. His designs are intricate, and not a square foot goes to waste. We have developed a great relationship that has produced some very high quality executions. Looking forward to many more years of building some 'not so little miracles' :)

We hired Sasha/LMD to transform our backyard after searching on Houzz for a company who was familiar with the typical Brooklyn townhouse yard and could do turf (easier upkeep). We had a lot of fun collaborating with Sasha on the design. The crew and their work were very professional and detail-oriented, especially when it came to the things you didn't see, like a proper drainage system and even where the hose spout was re-installed. The only downside was that the project took longer than expected, but we felt like the crew was doing quality work, so it was worth it. Sasha also stuck to the estimate while throwing in a few extras for our kids, like a blackboard wall. We'd hire his company again to do our front yard and recommend him to anyone else.

Sasha/LMD was/is a joy to work with. We hired Sasha/LMD to transform our backyard after several attempts to work with other landscaping companies, he was able to give us a refreshing design that was different than the typical square box, and fits with our existing aesthetics. Sasha is easy to talk to, his team is professional, they are great with follow up/maintenance, as a matter of fact, we are looking to hire LMD again for our roof terrace.

Sasha helped us make a small soulless concrete pit into an exciting, inviting urban oasis where we want to spend time. It was truly a miracle. What makes Sasha different from other landscape architects is that he is a true artist. Everything about him is pure creativity. He thinks about the art, the architecture and the design in his projects . In our first consultation with him, he not only had immediate ideas on how to improve our challenging space, he had tons of out of the box translations for my yard. He sketched out multiple ideas, all of which were amazing. I almost cried. We had not used our backyard in 7 years. I had had other landscape architects come in and they all only gave me one sketch that looked like everyone else on my block. Sasha gave me space that was different than anyone else. I only wish he could help me with the interior of my house. He is that good!

I highly recommend Little Miracles Designs. Sasha and I talked through my general sensibilities, functional objectives and inspirational desires. He provided schematics for a couple different ideas to work from until we honed into the final design and layout of the garden. From hand sketching real time at the kitchen counter during our brainstorming sessions to the professional software lay out, Sasha is tremendously talented with the visualization process, which helps make the design process become more concrete. Further, his contracting crew were very respectful of our house; they are conscientious workers with absolute attention to execution detail.

I found Sasha through Houzz. I was looking for someone to design and install my brownstone garden, including Ipe fencing all around. My garden is sensational. Sasha's ideas are terrific. He and his men are perfectionists. The trades he finds for speciality items, such as metal planters, do exceptional work. Finally, Sasha's price was extremely competitive, he keeps an eye on the garden as it matures, and he is always there to handle any issues that arise. Above and beyond all of this, however, is Sasha himself: he is immensely fun to work with, listens to what you want, and is fully invested in the job. I recommend Sasha wholeheartedly and without reservation.

Four years after Little Miracles completed my garden, I needed a little technical "tune up", and contacted Sasha. He was extremely responsive and was able to fit my little project in sooner than I expected. In my review 4 years ago, I commented on how much I liked how he treated his workers with respect and dignity-- not just as "laborers". Nothing has changed-- in fact, his main project manager is still with him! No wonder his business is thriving! Once again, I highly recommend Sasha and his Little Miracles team!

Little Miracles' online design portfolio drew us to the company- their design style was pronounced, fresh, consistent and extremely appealing to us. Sasha is extremely affable and professional as is his team all the way down to the freshly laundered floor mats they laid each day in the interior hallways toward our garden. Timing was nearly as scheduled, which in our experience with contractors, is excellent. Our finished garden is a piece of art, is extraordinarily user-friendly, and has added tremendous value to our property. Sasha consulted with us on design decisions along the way and kept to within 15% over original budget- also quite excellent.

Sasha completely redesigned our small garden which was in terrible condition. He proposed a solution for an unattractive view -- a large vine wall -- that we hope will solve the problem when the vines grow up in the next year or so. Sasha was very professional and his workers were great. He also very kindly helped out with a neighbor at no added cost. A few of the plants put in have not made it, but the others seem to be doing well. He also had lots of ideas for how to make the yard fun for our kids, most of which we have implemented this year (e.g., swings from the bottom of the deck). Recommended!

Sasha Newman has wonderful vision, design sense, and fine attention to details. He did an excellent job with the hardscaping of my garden, which took a month to complete. Unfortunately, he made a huge math error, which I had to point out to him. Also, he didn't quite finish the hardscaping, as he and his men leave for another big project, before they are 100% finished. More disturbingly, there were construction errors which showed up the following year. Even with numerous calls both years after the initial construction, he will NOT come back to fix them!

Sasha and his team transformed a dated backyard in our new Edgewater townhouse into a modern oasis. We were very pleased with their attention to details and the finished job. Well worth the investment!

Little Miracles Design did a superb job transforming our small concrete patio into a tropical urban oasis. The result really does seem miraculous -- we keep staring at it and not believing it is the same space. Working with Sasha was a pleasure. He is full of enthusiasm and great ideas. He really considers what a space is going to be used for, not only how it will look. Initially we had some idea of what we wanted. Sasha listened to our ideas and then came up with a plan for the space that included cost-conscious solutions we had never considered that achieved the look to maximum effect. The craftsmanship and attention to detail of the woodworking is fantastic and really makes a difference in a such a small space. His workmen are professional and you can tell that they take enormous pride in their work. A great experience and a wonderful talent.

Sasha is a true visionary. We have lived in three continents and amazingly he was able to capture this into one garden, making it our new favorite place in our home. Within our budget, Sasha was able to use the existing space to create a brand new garden, or two additional living areas as he describes it. We loved that he is truly passionate about his work which is evident in the selection of plants that he provided and his regular communication to check that the plants are well taken care of. Sasha puts in the extra mile that we really appreciated. We receive nothing but compliments from our friends, and intend to continue to enjoy the new space that Sasha had stunningly created.
