We had an extremely negative experience with this landscaper and would strongly advise others to think twice before hiring. We never asked for our lawn to be replaced with mulch—yet that is exactly what was done. There was no discussion, no approval, and no disclosure that this would happen. A major change to our property was made unilaterally. There was also no meaningful assessment of irrigation before installing sod and plants. A second landscaper later confirmed the lawn was installed too high for the sprinklers to function properly—something any competent professional should have verified before proceeding. We were not consulted on plant selection or placement, not provided with clear documentation or photographic proof of work, and not given timely care or irrigation instructions despite multiple requests over several weeks. The contract lacked transparency in critical areas. Square footage was included for sod installation but not for the lawn removal, making it impossible to reconcile what was actually done versus what was billed. When we raised legitimate concerns, the response was not to fix the problem—but to apply pressure. We were threatened with a lien and repeated legal escalation. At one point, payment demands were tied to the timing of our home sale, which felt like an attempt to force payment rather than resolve the underlying issues. There was also involvement from a real estate contact connected to the project, which added to the pressure and made the situation feel even less transparent. Compounding this, the refusal to properly address or warranty the work created delays in listing our home for sale and, in our view, contributed to a reduction in the eventual sale price. This had real financial impact. We made payments in good faith until it became clear the work did not match what was expected. Even then, we attempted to resolve things professionally and were told a quote and discount would be provided to correct the lawn—this never meaningfully happened. In my opinion, this reflects a lack of transparency, poor workmanship, and a disregard for basic professional standards. This was not just a miscommunication—it felt deeply misleading and highly unprofessional. One of the worst contractor experiences we’ve had. It was not worth the money. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Please do not work with Joe Loescher! We hired him to do some landscaping projects on our property, but ran into many problems both during and after his time working there. Our initial quote and agreement listed out all the work that needed to be done, however he and his team either did not complete the work or did a sloppy job. It is also important to note that Joe was not on site for the majority of these projects, so we ended up having to direct his teams on what to do since there was no site management or facilitation of any kind. He ended up filing a lien on our property due to an unpaid invoice, which is preposterous seeing as how the work was never completed and/or was delayed. We ended up having to pay the lien for the work he did not do. We found his actions and communication unprofessional and unacceptable, therefore we will not be working with him again.

Warning to stay away from this contractor. After having a fully self sustaining and functional backyard for 50 years, his renovations have caused flooding in our backyard over 5 times in the year or so since he built it, nearly flooding our house on multiple occasions. He has tried to blame everything other than his faulty work.

I am very happy with my decision to work with Loescher Landscape Design. I had an idea for my retaining wall project, (appox 100 ft) and Joe and his crew were essential in laying out a plan that we implemented without a hitch. They work incredibly hard during the project. the wall consisted of long 8 ft steel beam supports and Joe's crew set these with laser precision. I was concerned with exactly how the 21 steel beams would layout and everything worked out to plan. Aside from their expertise, Joe and his crew were exceptionally professional, personable and easy to work with and I strongly recommend their landscape services.

Mr. Loescher and his Crew did an Excellent job on my backyard with the waterfall and landscape design. Very courteous and professional service. They were able to finish the job in the estimated time given. I highly recommend Loescher Landscape!

Joe and his crew are very professional. Over the years he has done several projects for me and they always turn out great. He offers good cost effective ideas and has always come through on a nice looking finished product. I would not hesitate to hire him again for another project. Below is a photo of the retaining wall that he replaced and he also added the string lights. The planter is another example of Joe’s work. We gave him an idea of what we wanted it to look like and it turned out beautiful.

Mr. Loescher was not able to complete the work. We were left with cracks on wall and unpainted area under the wall caps, power outlet that has no power as well as imcomplete landscape lighting system.All of which we have to hire someone else to finish. Most of all, he was never able to get the HOA approval as he promised when we first interviewed him. His workers never use water to prevent the dust when they did the cutting of breaks or tiles. They dumped garbage everywhere, in the backyard garden area, inside the spaces of a seating wall or just on the drive way.

Joe has performed landscape services for me personally and I am a real estate Broker and I have referred him to my clients to have work done. My clients and I are both very pleased with the professional landscape and concrete services provided by Loescher Landscapes and I highly recommend Joe to anyone thinking about having landscape services performed. His attention to detail and work ethic are great and I look forward to referring him to my future clients.
