I highly recommend Marjorie Smith for any garden design or landscaping project. Marjorie originally designed, and literally transformed, our very ordinary backyard into a beautiful and very functional outdoor living space and garden. We loved working with Marjorie so much that we’ve had her return to work with us on multiple landscaping-related projects –including front, side, and more in the back of the house. Our first project with Marjorie was in Spring 2009. Her most recent work with us was in Spring 2015. One of Marjorie’s most impressive contributions to our original backyard project was to take a drainage challenge we were concerned about and transform it into an advantage. We now have a lovely dry river that runs through the backyard (and on rainy days, we’re gifted with a small, tranquil stream). Marjorie’s talent at problem solving is undeniable. Marjorie is a delight to work with. She’s highly responsive, prompt, and professional -and she works with our budget. Marjorie proactively communicates about any questions and updates. We always feel that Marjorie collaborates with us when she’s working on a design. She listens to our ideas, incorporates her expertise, and responds with a plan that always makes our original vision of a project even better. As a novice gardener, myself, Marjorie has always been willing to share suggestions and discuss how I can enhance a space with some of my own additions. As someone who loves plants, I’m so appreciative of Marjorie’s enthusiasm for her work, her deep knowledge of plants, and her considerable devotion to the art and science of landscape design. Marjorie Smith has my most enthusiastic recommendation –and she’s certainly on my list for any other potential projects in the future.

Marjorie has done multiple projects over the past 15 years at the Capital Caring Halquist Inpatient Center. She does excellent work, is sensitive to your vision of what you would like to create and is a pleasure to work with. Her designs are beautiful !

From start to finish, Marjorie provided customer-centric professional service. She was amenable and easy to schedule. Arriving on time and working efficiently, she made quick work turning our initial planning discussion into measurements, sketches and costs. Unlike other designers I've contacted, Marjorie was cogent and direct - she was clear and detailed about costs and options. And there was no upselling or gimmicks. Her plans provided the basis for equally solid installation and craftsmanship. Overall, I highly recommend and would recontact for future work.

Marjorie Smith is a truly outstanding landscape designer. My wife and I have had many homes over the years. We have done some of our own landscaping, but typically we have hired and worked with landscaping professionals. Of those professionals, Marjorie stands head and shoulders above the rest. She has done multiple projects for us involving trees, bushes, and flowers in both sun, shade, and difficult spots. Here are the things we like best about Marjorie. First, she knows what she is talking about. She has been a landscape design professional for many years and a gardening enthusiast for even longer. She knows what will look good, what will work well, and what will not. Her advice is invariably good. Second, she is a joy to work with. She listens well, adjusts to our thoughts and feedback, and anticipates and works around any potential difficulties. I love trees and often have my own ideas about what species to use and where to place the trees. Marjorie always respectfully listens and improves upon my ideas. I have learned to greatly trust her. Finally, she does exactly what she says she will do, for the price she quotes, and she does it very well. We know we can put ourselves in her hands and get a great, value added, result every time. My wife and I would not even consider working with anyone else.
