We are a locally owned design and build landscape company serving the Lowcountry for over 20 years. Matthew has a lifetime of experience in the trade. Working under his father, Duane Ward, Matthew learned the ins and outs of the landscape business before venturing out to start his own legacy in the 80’s. We have a retail garden center on West Butternut Road in Summerville where we stock palms, trees, shrubs, grasses, perennials, boulders, flagstone, pine straw, mulch, compost, sod, and more. But that’s just the retail side of it. Our Landscape design and installation team is what we’re most known for. With an emphasis on functionality and aesthetics, we focus on creating designs that work with the “lay of the land”, not against it. Irrigation and drainage are two critical things that so often get overlooked in the installation phase by others. Matthew Ward Landscapes prides itself with a knowledgeable approach to these challenges. Ease of maintenance and multi-seasonal interest are some other important considerations. Most of our designs are residential, but we offer commercial design as well. One thing that sets us apart with our designs and installations is the attention to detail and the passionate, professional labor we have working for us. An incredible amount of time and energy go into the planning and implementation of our landscape installs. We reinforce this investment with our helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff.
