Chris came out to look at our existing patio, and made excellent suggestions for how to improve it to make the ultimate outdoor living space. The first year, we added an outdoor kitchen and eating area, expanding the size/usage of our existing stone patio, plus put in new stone stairs to our back door. The second year, we expanded yet again, adding more square footage and an outdoor fireplace. Everything turned out beautifully, and the team did excellent work. They also did the landscaping around the new stone which looks great. We receive compliments all the time. The work was done as quoted, and in the timeframe agreed upon. No surprises, no hidden costs. We were very happy with the work and love our new outdoor living space!

We decided to meet with Chris at the recommendation of a friend who had used Chris to create a beautiful outdoor dining and living space. We were impressed with Chris’s ideas, enthusiasm and thorough presentation and decided to go with Outdoor Design to create our own backyard retreat. We have loved and enjoyed entertaining and relaxing with family and friends in the space Outdoor Design created for us. In addition to creating our outdoor kitchen, dining and living areas we have used Outdoor Design to maintain everything - from cutting our lawn, to fall and spring clean ups, to plowing our driveway in the winter. My wife and I did two large projects with Outdoor Design & Living. We added an outdoor kitchen and did a large pool and patio project with landscaping, lighting and sound. We enjoyed working with Chris and his team as they were very helpful throughout the process. Both projects came out great and we would highly recommend Chris and team for any outdoor needs.

We replaced an existing semi circular brick patio that was crumbling. Chris and his crew handled the demolition of the old patio and contructed the new from the footings up. On time and on budget, great job!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Chris and the Outdoor Design team! Chris is extremely customer focused, he’s responsive and full of great ideas. He spent time with us and listened to our thoughts/ideas/budget and quickly came back with a well-designed, budget friendly plan. I don’t think the back yard had been thoughtfully landscaped ever (30+ years), Outdoor Design installed hardscape and landscape and we couldn't be happier with the results. The yard appears larger, it’s beautiful and inviting and we want to be out there now! The patio was designed with a step down area for lounging by the in-ground pool. The upper level has a sitting-stonewall, this area is used for dining in the warmer months and sitting around the (removable) fire pit in the cooler months. Chris thoughtfully reused some of the existing shrubbery, moving plants around and adding a selection of hydrangea and other perennials to maintain a natural flow in the yard and compliment the stonework. His team was reliable, prompt, friendly, always left the job site clean and Chris was always available to answer questions. We just couldn’t be more pleased with Outdoor Design!

Outdoor design went above and beyond our expectations. We installed an inground pool this past summer and needed extensive stone work including retaining walls, stairs, stone walls, fire pit and landscaping. They work fast and are very reliable and the outcome was so much more amazing than we had imagined. We added a fire pit in last minute and they was there to install ASAP. Our plantings are perfect for our space for privacy, attractiveness and maintenance. Chris works with you from start to finish and ensures you are happy and within budget. He and his team are very knowledgeable and skilled. Highly recommend Outdoor Design for masonry and landscaping!

Outdoor Design entirely replaced both our hardscape and landscape and we couldn't be happier with the results. They updated our front entry, giving it a welcoming, functional, and attractive look, and continued the natural flow all around. Our back yard, after living here 23 years, is for the first time an oasis! We now have a living space where we want to be and it actually makes the yard appear larger. They designed the patio with built in grill and a step down seating area in front of a gas fireplace. It gives us both an open space and a cozy one, and in-between is a long bar where we perch on stools and eat our dinner. Their choice of plants and trees are perfectly suited to the size of our yard and compliment the stonework (which is stunning) beautifully, They were very prompt with every aspect of the job, always available to answer questions and modify things as they arose. The owner was there from beginning to end. His ideas were the best of all those we requested, the pricing was fair, and there is not one thing we would do differently.

I had an excellent experience with Outdoor Design! Chris and his team are very dedicated, hard-working, and full of ideas on how to make the most of your backyard. I had gotten a free estimate from Chris when my irrigation company recommended him. I called him to talk about grading my yard before sprinklers were installed, but somehow, 2 months later, we had our backyard oasis completely finished, and had gained an outdoor living room, dining room and kitchen for a fraction of what an actual building addition would have been. Plus, mature trees for added privacy and landscaping Martha Stewart would be envious of! Chris and Dave took my ideas and budget and made what I had envisioned happen. Chris prices out the estimate a la carte; which means that you don't have to do everything right then; I could start the project and add the fireplace later, or the stonewall seating next year... I was able to shave some of the cost by reusing my hydrangeas and buying some of my own shrubs. Mario and the masonry team are some of the hardest working men I've ever met. They would set up tents in the rain just to keep working! The end result is stunning; Two friends have already hired Chris in the last 6 months to build their own dream backyards. What sets Outdoor Design apart from the competition is that they stand by their work. Chris is a lifelong resident of Fairfield (as am I) and knows that reputation is everything. As he says, he wants his customers to be "ecstatic"! He was an absolute pleasure to work with, as was his entire team. I highly recommend Outdoor Design, give them a call, and I'd be happy to personally talk to anyone who is on the fence. This company is one of the "good ones"!
