Outdoor Living of NJ

We purchased a custom outdoor fire pit from Carolina who was initially very helpful throughout the process and installation. However, our issues started when the granite top of the fire pit unexpectedly cracked one evening. We reached out to Carolina and they weren’t quite sure what the cause was, whether is was a weak piece of granite or an issue with the box design. They came back out and replaced the granite top and waterfall edges but ended up cracking off some of the side stone, which they just laid back in place without securing with cement. Less than 3 weeks later we were around the fire pit with some friends when we all heard a pop. The granite top cracked again in the exact same location as the first time. We reached back out to Carolina, who as one would expect, was not very excited to hear from us again. Since the granite cracked in the EXACT same location we asked if there was a fault with the box design, leading to excessive pressure or heat in one location? This was quickly dismissed by Carolina, stating that they have never had issues with their box designs but she promised they will come out a replace it one more time for us. We weren’t sure that would resolve the issue since it cracked twice in the same spot! Fast forward almost 2 years later and we have yet to see any resolution from Carolina. I text her every few months asking for an update and we get nothing. We even asked her for some recommendations to seal the crack to prevent it from expanding during the colder months but we have still not heard anything from her. For a $5k+ custom fire we hoped we would get some help in resolving this issue that clearly seems to be a manufacturing defect. My wife and I own a small business and we understand that sometimes things just go wrong. However, it is how you deal with those problems and your client service that makes or breaks these situations. Sadly, Carolina has failed in this department. The reason it took us so long to write this review is because we believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, hoping they will do the right thing. It is clear that Carolina has intentionally ignored our communications, hoping this will just go away on its own. Decent product, terrible client service…..

Carolina at Outdoor Living of NJ could not have been more helpful and professional. We were looking for an unusual size table for our small deck, and she suggested we come see one she had on the display floor. It was perfect, and she helped us find very comfortable chairs to compliment the table. She was responsive to any questions and concerns I had and made sure our delivery and set up was made as soon as the furniture arrived in her warehouse. She and staff even came after hours to set it up for us! Whether your job is large or small, this is the place to come for outdoor living spaces.

I really appreciated the level of professionalism by this team. Carolina is outstanding and very patient with her clients. She designed and guided us along the way until project completion. Very timely and honest with lead times for material etc. Our home was actually quite far and out of their typical network however Carolina and her team made it possible. The details in the show room was probably the reason I wanted to go with this group vs. others. The finished island on our patio is perfect! We've been grilling like no ones business! Outdoor Living did a great job on my small backyard in Hoboken. I was very happy with how careful and respectful they were throughout the whole process. We had to move all the materials in and out through my apartment and they did a fantastic job in taking their time to not damage or leave traces inside my home. And of course I couldn’t be happier with how my yard looks. Would happily Reccomended them for any scope of work you may need done.

From the first moment we began working with Carolina we knew we were in excellent hands. Our experience exceeded our highest expectations. Carolina, is professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and communicative. She thought of everything. Their entire team is so pleasant to deal with. Tom, Alex and the other installation workers were quick, careful and thorough. The entire process was seamless and effortless for us. I own a small outdoor rooftop terrace and was looking to install an appropriately-sized outdoor kitchen. Having worked with contractors before, I was dreading the search and struggle of having to find the right partner who wasn't going to intimidate/under-communicate/complicate things. In comes Outdoor Living of NJ! Never have I worked with a company with such professionalism, experience and courtesy. Amidst some frustrating condo red tape, Carolina handled EVERY (and I mean every!) aspect, from managing the condo requirements...to coordinating ALL communications with the plumber/electrician... up to the final execution. There were a few hurdles along the way (things outside her control), but she handled it with extreme patience and poise, while ensuring I was getting regular updates along the way. What exceptional customer service!! Both she and Tom took a project I was dreading getting off the ground, to being the BEST experience I have ever had. And now, I have a beautiful outdoor kitchen to enjoy forever. I cannot recommend this company ENOUGH for any size project - thank you Outdoor Living of NJ!!

Their great crew made sure the project was completed timely.
