Outdoor Spaces transformed our small backyard space into an oasis. Lilli is amazing and helped design the most beautiful and welcoming space. Don, Alex and the rest of the team were professional and responsive. We will enjoy our landscaping, patio and fireplace for many years to come.

We've had the great pleasure of working with Outdoor Spaces a few times now, the most recent time being when they built a beautiful indoor/outdoor room with a stone fireplace flanked by two beautiful decks here at our house. From the first design meetings with Erik, to dealing with their great job foreman Don through to meeting and getting to know all of the excellent contractors, the project (started & completed all during the pandemic) went great! We couldn't possibly be any happier with our wonderful new spaces and honestly can't recommend Outdoor Spaces highly enough!

Outdoor spaces did one AMAZING job on our backyard. We had a challenge with water runoff; they took the challenge and ran with it. If you are considering any stone work (we had a large stone fireplace put in), you will be blown away by the craftsmanship they produce. Any issues, questions or concerns that came up were always handled very professionally and in a very timely manner. They remained on schedule and always had the next team ready to start the next part of the project. You will not be disappointed going with Outdoor Spaces.

This review is long overdue. Outdoor Spaces finished a patio project for us last spring, and our family couldn't be happier with the space. From initial concept to finished product, the Outdoor Spaces team was such a joy to work with. Everyone involved did a terrific job communicating, listening to feedback, and developing a vision for the project that exceeded our expectations. It was stunning to watch the craftsmanship employed by Outdoor Spaces' stonemasons as they work on our fireplace, wall, and hardscape. The plantings were as thoughtful as they were beautiful, and the team has been great about following up with us to make sure everything's in order long after the project was completed. Couldn't ask for a better, more skilled team to work with. Highly recommended.

Outdoor Spaces was fantastic to work with for our backyard project. The design came back detailed and thoroughly thought out. The team worked with us to break the project up into two phases. The execution of phase 1 included demo, reworking the ground to support proper drainage, large patio, retaining walls, large fire pit, and a decent amount of landscaping. Throughout the execution, the Project Manger frequently stayed in contact with me, and when there was an issue, a plan was put in place to quickly address it. The mason work is outstanding! The landscaping highlights and accents the space wonderfully. We love the new backyard!

We had a wonderful experience working with Outdoor Spaces from start to finish. Erik and Lilli came out to look at our unusual circumstances for a patio. They had great ideas on how to make a lovely outdoor space with our small area. Lilli was hands on and a delight to work with. Stacy in the office was always very helpful. We hired outdoor spaces to build a covered porch, deck and patio. They are exceptional! From the beginning stages of planning, to the very end, they discuss every detail and keep you in the loop about what's happening and what they will be doing next. They communicate every step of the way. The crew is very nice and their attention to detail is amazing. The space is gorgeous and functional! We truly love our new outdoor space.

The guys at Outdoor Spaces are the best. They took an idea, developed it, and made it reality. Now my front and back doors have so much more than a path. They have grand entrances. They worked with the natural setting and integrated the steps, landings, plantings, mountain rock, and pavers as though nature itself had conceived the plan. Professional. Kept their promises. There are a lot of great things to say about Outdoor Spaces and its employees. Each encounter has been informative, helpful and more than pleasant. From the surveying, planning, cost estimating, proposed design, presentation and landscape execution Evan, Erik and Josh have been very accommodating and flexible. Their approach is methodical and purposeful, identifying several areas of our grading and drainage that were overlooked by the home builder. They provided us a landscape plan that was natural, beautiful, and satisfied all of my landscaping concerns. There attention to detail, to include minimizing required maintenance, was very much appreciated. Outdoor Spaces has provided an exceptional landscape foundation to build upon. Outdoor Spaces does excellent work and their customer service is top notch! We have had a number of unexpected quick requests to Outdoor Spaces soliciting their immediate help in order to gain our occupancy permit and to satisfy our county’s erosion control codes: several walkways, a natural and outdoor style step for the entrance of our detached garage, sod at our driveway’s main entrance, straw and seed at all of our disturbed land construction and septic system areas, and culverts under the driveway to route electrical and irrigation lines. We have a lot of projects to complete on multiple properties and plan to use Outdoor Spaces for the remainder of our front yard work, driveway entrance and home rear deck and patio work, and drainage concerns on neighboring property.

I contracted Outdoor Spaces (Eric Moden) to do an outdoor kitchen/bar/living area design for our home. He was very professional and met (or exceeded) all my expectations. He was very patient (probably beyond fair) with the number of changes and iterations I drove. I would highly recommend him.

Outdoor Spaces is fantastic. Erik walked our home and spent several hours getting to know us and our design likes and dislikes. We gave him some broad thoughts and the design he came back with was better than we imagined. He put things in the design that we weren't even thinking about that worked perfectly with our style. Then Josh and Evan executed the job flawlessly. They coordinated the stone Mason's, the lighting, the fence, and the landscapers and more and made it seem easy. They stayed on timeline, and when they said they would do something; they did it. The team was very professional, and responded to questions or concerns quickly, and definitively. They transformed our dated and tired backyard to the talk of our neighborhood. It was a real pleasure working with this group, and I will absolutely use them again in the future and highly recommend them to others looking for a firm to help them take their outdoor space to the next level.

We hired them for a three part project of patio, deck and sunroom under the deck. We are on phase two and couldn't be happier. We have started planning future projects with them because of their great esthetic style, professionalism and communication. I would recommend them to anyone looking for outdoor projects in the NoVa area. Lucky for us, they are expanding to work indoors as well.

I initially hired Evan of Outdoors Spaces when he was with another company back in 2008. The project involved a full landscaping re-do of my front, side, and backyards and the installation of a Flagstone patio and sitting wall. The results were fantastic. Since that time and the formation of Outdoor Spaces, I've had the pleasure of working with Evan and his colleagues numerous times on other landscaping and yard maintenance projects. It would be difficult to detail all that they have done. Suffice it to say, Outdoor Spaces is my go-to when I have a landscaping or hardscaping project in mind. The most recent involved the re-pointing of my patio. Regardless of the size, scope or expense of the project, Evan has never failed to follow-up with me to make sure I was happy with the work. His work crews have always been respectful, if not unobtrusive. And I've never had a problem with post-work clean-up. It just gets done. I wish I could work more often with Outdoor Spaces as I have so many things on my wish list. The only thing holding me back is Mr. Piggy Bank! Although I've worked most closely with Evan, everyone with Outdoor Spaces has been just as kind and polite. I've recommended them to family and friends alike and each time the reviews have been glowing. I can't wait to work for my next project.

Outdoor Spaces designed and installed in a two-level patio, seating wall, driveway runners, grill area with a gas grill and Big Green Egg, landscape lighting, and also plantings for us. Erik and Evan (and the rest of the team) had some great ideas and collaborated nicely with us and other contractors we had on-site. They weren't the cheapest, but were very reasonable for high-quality work and materials. They did a high-level design as part of the estimate so we would easily visualize the work. They also did a 3D rendering along the way as well that was very helpful. We plan to use them for another project in the next year.

After receiving quotes from several companies for a paver patio, my wife and I decided to go with Outdoor Spaces. Although price weighed into the decision-making process, and theirs wasn't the cheapest, they won us over with their design, responsiveness, and customer service. We were so impressed with the quality of their work, we've used them on other projects at our home - and will continue to use them in the future. If you're considering an outdoor project, do yourself a favor and consult with Erik, Josh, and Evan from Outdoor Spaces!

Outdoor Spaces redid our front sidewalk and mulch beds. They were great to work with and did quality work. Communication with the management and workers was good. Everything looks great. The stone work for the sidewalk and the retaining wall are great. In the beginning, they worked with us and modified plans according to our interests and preferences. They made good suggestions on the side area by our A/C units and we liked the way it turned out.

We can't say enough great things about Outdoor Spaces! The designs are considered, professional, and unique, and most importantly the owners are patient, considerate, and great listeners. Their passion, depth of knowledge, and commitment to excellence are obvious in every project they complete, big or small! They complete their projects on time and with care, and their staff/subcontractors have always met high standards for keeping the work area clean and organized even DURING the work. We've worked with Outdoor Spaces year after year and typically are planning our next project even before they finish the current work. We refer them to everyone we know but their work really speaks for itself!
