Revolution Landscape's work is simply amazing. Their advice, meticulous attention to detail and pride in workmanship is evident in the magnificent and water-wise landscape they built for us. From both a design and construction standpoint, the team worked very closely with us to produce a landscape that was not only beautiful but also very functional. This included placing a concrete walkway with flat cemented stone insets in the backyard, which greatly enhanced the experience and safety of walking in the backyard. The team also coordinated with our landscape designer Andrea Sills for the best placement of plants and boulders around the dry riverbed. Revolution Landscape was a pleasure to work with, both with our initial landscaping in 2015 and with our refresh in 2024. Their costs were reasonable, they communicated with us on a daily basis throughout the project, and they were fun to work with.

Revolution Landscape excelled in bringing our project to life! Ari totally got our vision and aesthetic, and we had a blast collaborating. The plant choices were spot-on, giving our space the vibe we were looking for. Plus, he made sure everything was on point, checking in multiple times during the install. I can not speak highly enough of Revolution landscape. We worked with Ari for a planting plan for our front yard, and extremely pleased with the results! My husband and I had very different tastes; tropical versus desert landscaping and he was able to come up With the perfect plan that captured what we both envisioned and the results are stunning. We had an excellent experience with the team at Revolution Landscape. From the inception of our project to its completion, Ari and Jeff listened closely to our desires and concerns and delivered an excellent plan that somehow managed to be within our budget and provided us with an amazing yard that we're very proud of. Their plan included a fruit tree orchard, raised garden beds, front and back porch pergolas, a dojo for our tai chi practice and an incredible fire pit with rock wall seating and water feature. They kept in close touch every step of the way and their on-site project manager Fernando was a delight for my wife and I to work with. Since the installation, Jeff and Ari have returned to monitor the growth of all the plants and trees and offered invaluable advice regarding the pruning of the fruit trees and effective irrigation management. We would recommend them highly to anyone looking for top quality landscaping.

200/10 we are SO happy with our new backyard. Revolution Landscape took all of our desires, our budget, style and truly gave us a whole new space to enjoy! We redid the entire yard down to the irrigation, pouring a concrete patio, adding in a grill and building a new balcony. Their team was timely, considerate and hard-working. Jeff and Ari are very complimentary and make an awesome team. When we were looking for a company to help with such a large-scale renovation they took us seriously as a client, answered all of our questions and made us feel so taken care of every single step of the way. I was so nervous about this project and they put me at ease with their knowledge and communication. They also helped us hone in on what we really wanted within our budget and square footage. I also loved how they handled landscape and architecture and the project was so organized and on schedule. They worked within our timeline and went above and beyond to get it done for us. Revolution Landscape is an amazing full-service landscape design and build organization. Ari and Jeff listened to our goals and vision and incorporated those ideas into a detailed design that resulted in a backyard that is better then we could have imagined. The result is a space that functions less like a “yard” and more like an additional living space where we can entertain friends and family or enjoy a cup off coffee as the sun rises. The design draws connections between the interior and exterior of our home, accentuates our views, makes amazing use of the small space, and features a custom built-in BBQ and two garden beds that are already producing vegetables. As the project progressed, we quickly realized Jeff and Ari’s skill and relied on their judgment for what would look best. The project team was respectful, dependable, and conscientious. During construction, Jeff reached out to our neighbors and offered them the opportunity to raise any issues or concerns. They completed the project within our budget and ahead of schedule--by almost three weeks! Since completion, Jeff and Ari have both stopped by to check on the plantings and have been quick to respond to questions concerning care and maintenance. We have and will continue to recommend Revolution Landscape to our friends!

We are extremely happy with our new backyard landscaping by Revolution. Ari did an excellent job of listening to what we liked and incorporating it into our design. The execution was done by an extremely competent crew. Jeff did a wonderful, and very artistic job of incorporating our “objets d’art” along with some of his ideas into the landscape, including some unexpected sparkles in our hardscape.

We hired Revolution Landscape to re-do our backyard area (before: dead weeds, a dilapidated storage shed, and a lot of clutter from all the kid/dog/camping gear). We had only high-level ideas of what we were looking for - more integrated indoor-outdoor transitions, kid-friendly low-maintenance colorful plantings, more storage space for gear, and a place to hang a hammock. Ari did a wonderful job translating those ideas into a design that improved the flow of our outdoor space and made it much more usable. With the beautiful deck and outdoor eating/cooking area, we feel like we got an addition on our house. In the installation phase, Jeff was a pleasure to work with and kept us updated every step of the way. He also was able to add a few elements (more under-deck storage, an outdoor shower, and plantings in the front yard) and keep within our budget by making adjustments elsewhere. We couldn't recommend them highly enough.

If you are in search of the quintessential professional landscape company, look no further. Ari and Jeff of Revolution Landscape personify "professional". From the very beginning to the completion of this extensive project, each of them took personal ownership to ensure a positive result. There were multiple challenges that had to be met including serious access and egress issues to the property. An accessible beautiful and sustainable bird-friendly, drought tolerant, water smart pollinator garden was the goal. Ari listened carefully and offered ideas from day one. The final design evolved through a series of meetings and discussions over the course of several months. Time well spent. Ultimately, all existing hardscape and landscaping were removed and replaced under Jeff's guidance. Timelines were set and deadlines met even when changes were requested, including a new fence and gates. The people with whom they contracted were excellent - courteous and detail-oriented. The pictures say it all. This garden feeds myriad birds, bees, wasps, and other wildlife, and ultimately people (when the bare root fruit trees are installed and the vegetable planter added). It is beautiful and feeds the soul. It stayed true to the spirit of the old house and neighborhood. My neighbors approve too which is pretty wonderful. Thanks so much, Ari & Jeff.

We hired Revolution Landscape to re-landscape our yard, with the goal of replacing our grass with low water plants. We are extremely happy with the results. The first time we met Ari, Ari pointed out problems with our current landscape without us even mentioning it. He drafted a plan on schedule, that met all of our needs and then some. Jeffrey, the installation manager, was on point the entire time and did a fantastic job installing the plan. Jeffrey went above and beyond what we expected when the job started. His goal was to leave us with a landscape that we loved, and he and his team succeeded in that task. The job started a month early, and finished two weeks before schedule. Jeffrey always had a positive attitude, was responsive to questions, and didn't forget the details that we discussed in our meetings. When we hire contractors, we look for people that are confident and know what they are doing, and have a passion for their job. We got just that with Revolution Landscaping.

Revolution Landscape was extremely easy to work with. They were professional throughout the entire process and all the workers were very accommodating and helpful. Not only did they produce a beautiful landscape for our front corner lot, they were so efficient and quick, working every weekday when it was not raining! We love our native plants and fruit trees and the design is elegant, natural and water-wise. All our neighbors have complimented on how nice the landscaping looks. We really appreciated how they incorporated elements from our demolition into the design details including the concrete chunks from our old driveway that were incorporated as stepping stones from the curb to the sidewalk. There were a few details that were changed from both sides of the table and we didn't have to worry about being nickeled and dimed. Where many contractors charge the customer for any changes, Revolution Landscape held true to the budget and delivered an exceptional product. We are glad we had the opportunity to work with Ari and Jeff!

The team at Revolution are consummate professionals! I interviewed a number of firms before we selected Revolution for a front and backyard remodel. I was initially impressed by the landscape architect, Steven, who was polished, listened to our wishes/ concerns and then designed a beautiful rendition to help us visualize what the project might look like once complete. We ultimately chose Revolution after conducting professional references. I could not believe how helpful their prior clients were and so willing to share their own experience, even inviting me to tour their garden - which I did and it was inspiring! That experience encapsulates who Revolution is and why they do this, it's about connecting…to people…and to nature. Jeff was also amazing. He was responsible for the installation of the job but that doesn't do justice to his contributions. He is such a visionary, has a breadth of knowledge and takes so much care in every little detail and I mean every little detail, down to personally picking out boulders with his artistic eye and masterful placement. Ari, the owner, was also a joy to work with. He was initially so responsive, taking my call immediately which is unheard of these days, and he has built a great team. I cannot recommend them enough!!

Four years ago we hired Revolution Landscape to do a complete redesign of our front and back yards and the results have been fantastic! The project included removal of old, outdated landscape rock, creation of pathways and patio spaces, and planting a colorful mix low water plants and fruiting trees. The new plantings are beautiful and attract birds, bees, and butterflies so the yard is humming with life. Our fruit trees include navel oranges, tangerines, nectarines, peaches, and multiple varieties of apples. We get to harvest citrus throughout the winter and other fruit during the warmers months and there is almost always something in season. The Revolution Landscape team was a pleasure to work with from the design process through installation and they have continued to provide us with ongoing organic landscape maintenance services as well. We are so happy with our yard and would recommend Revolution Landscape to anyone interested in having an edible and sustainable yard.

Revolution Landscape designed and installed the landscape for my front and back yard and I am very pleased with the end result. They removed the lawn in both yards and replaced them with native drought tolerant plants, fruit trees, vegetables, and beautiful stones. I love the vegetables that I have been getting from my yard, especially the heirloom tomatoes and the chili's. Ari, the co-owner made a great effort to give me a landscape that was both aesthetically pleasing, functional and within my budget. Our business has completed several major re-landscaping jobs with Revolution and could not be more satisfied. We are rental property owners that have a variety of unused lawn spaces & landscaping which were expensive to keep up and not effectively utilized by the tenants. We were very interested in finding a landscape company who's mission involved water conservation, native plants and edible garden(s). Revolution provided that and more! The designs are UNIQUE. Not only are they beautiful, organized, progressive and poignant to today's climate issues, they look like no other. The results are so expeditious you hardly recall the initial planting stage. Furthermore they are low maintenance & blower-FREE! Revolution has created new eco-systems that have more birds and good (pollinating) critters than ever. The feedback from the neighborhood and tenants has been nothing short of pure praise. We find that not only are the tenants enjoying the bounty from the edible gardens (we incorporated vegetable beds and fruit trees/bushes amid the native plants) but that neighbors and visitors will frequently linger to admire our yards. We were looking for a company to help us complement our existing backyard of natives with an edible fruit and veg garden, with a sense of style and purpose. Revolution Landscape really listened and worked hard to make this goal a reality. They provided us with creative solutions to address the outdoor needs of our family, solved long-standing technical issues with irrigation, and transformed our yard not only with a beautiful edible garden, but refreshed the existing landscape with new natives and water-wise plantings as well. And they did it all keeping within our specific and not large budget. Since we are new to edibles, we also appreciate their continuing support and advice as our garden continues to change and grow throughout the seasons. Our front yard was a mess. Ficus tree roots had taken over and rabbits continued to eat our patchy lawn. There had been an article in the Union Tribune about Revolution Landscape so I called for help. It was a long process helped so much by Ari, the owner's, kindness and perseverance. We wanted to make sure our neighbors were ok with the plans, as well as needing the plans to be approved through our Homeowners Association. Ari did the legwork and cheerfully revised plans several times. The tree roots turned out to need extra labor in order to remove them but cost savings were found elsewhere and the project (don't tell HGTV) came in under budget! I was just looking at the front yard today-- now a home for butterflies-- looking at the roses, the yellow daisies, the bay laurel tree, the fragrant hedges of rosemary and the 3 varieties of thyme and one of oregano, which I constantly harvest for my kitchen and for gifts, and I feel nothing but gratitude for Revolution. Our water bill has dropped significantly with drip irrigation. They continue to maintain our yard every other week. Thank you Ari and team for a yard that makes me and my neighbors smile, and which is no longer a buffet for rabbits!

Revolution Landscape completed a total renovation of our yard front and back -- removing the tired and thirsty turf and replacing it with mulch, decorative stone, and a colorful variety of native plants, fruit trees, and other edibles. They also constructed two critter-proof raised boxes for vegetables and installed a rain barrel. The result is a yard that is much more attractive, easier to maintain, and more sustainable. This crew of young men and women definitely knows plants and landscape design!

We recently completed a landscape redesign around our home using Revolution Landscape, and we could not be more pleased with the results. The entire process, from initial concept through completion, was very enjoyable and the owners and staff are just stellar. The front yard design is water-wise, clean and contemporary as requested. Although the backyard was more complex, Revolution handled the challenges well. Our backyard wishlist involved removing a very old concrete patio that was draining towards the house, making a dog run on the side of the house using existing stepping stones/pebble already on site, building raised beds, incorporating 5 existing fruit trees and an ill-placed cabana structure into a water-wise, sustainable but aesthetically pleasing yard/garden for us to enjoy. Julie's design was extraordinary, with a natural-appearing meandering rock "riverbed' focal point that receives water from the roof/drains so that water returns to the water table instead of running down the street. (The front and back landscape handled the downpours of a few weeks ago w/o a problem; the river and its deep underground well handled all the water w/o difficulty. There was no silting or loss of soil anywhere.) The final design includes a small rose garden and grapes to grace a sideyard fence. The yard is already beautiful and it is just starting to grow in. We've received many complements on the project from passersby. As with any construction project, there can be changes of mind or unknown complications that suddenly appear. Jeff and all staff people were very receptive and responsive to changes. All changes that required an upcharge or resulted in savings were clearly discussed. Change orders were reasonably priced. Plants that were not used, either due to lack of space or poor quality, were not put in. Revolution is clearly concerned with the client's wishes and will do a careful, very aesthetic and environmentally sensitive job. We are having Revolution perform maintenance on the project for a few months until the garden settles. Jeff and Ari are clearly knowledgeable about plant care and soils, and we intend to glean all the information we can from them and the maintenance staff. We would not hesitate to use this company again for a landscape project.

We had Ari come out to help revitalize some fruit trees at our house and also to help us with our small veggie garden. We ended up hiring Revolution to prune and mulch all our fruit trees. They also brought in compost for the garden. Everything is growing great now and we will definitely be calling them again to prune our trees next year. Our veggie garden is producing fresh vegetables that I eat almost every day. How cool is that?!

Your Review:Revolution Landscape designed & installed an" over the top"organic urban farm and native low water backyard landscape for the non-profit TERI, Inc. at one of our 12 group homes. The front yard was transformed from a water guzzling never used lawn to a gorgeous neighborhood friendly mini farm and orchard. The produce feeds not only the group home which has the garden, but 4 other homes as well! The aesthetics are jaw droppingly gorgeous. The backyard's native landscape & edible garden boxes were featured in San Diego Native Plant Garden Home tour last year. It has year round eye appeal and has lowered our water bill for this group home from $1200 to around $300 a month. Amazing savings. The owners, Ari & Jeff, are a delight. Knowledgeable, professional, conscientious and talented...it was a delight. Once the job was installed, Ari has come out several times for on-going consultation and education of the care of our orchard and native garden space. Can't say enough good things about this San Diego County treasure.

I was tired of looking at my water guzzling grass and finally admitted that I was never going to do it myself. I contacted Revolution Landscape and after meeting with Ari I decided to go with them to do the job. Each and very person that worked with me in the process was wonderful. I enjoyed having them around and decided to have them continue to maintain my yard to keep it looking fantastic. My back yard and front yard were both done, so it was an expensive proposition. All in all it was worth every cent to have the attention of actual professionals that worked with me in planting and creating what I wanted. I have never been happier with my yard. We have used Revolution Landscape for 3 projects over the last 5 years (a steep hillside; removal of grass and installation of a pond and raised garden beds and shaded deck/arbor in back yard; and turf removal/water-wise redesign of front yard). We also use them for regular landscape maintenance. We never spent much time out in or had much interest in the landscaping of our small suburban yard until Revolution inspired us. We now thoroughly enjoy our many fruit trees, our fresh garden vegetables, and relaxing on our side deck listening to the little waterfall and enjoying a glass of wine. They are attentive, listen well to budget concerns, and give really educated advice on plant selection in addition to being realistic about schedules and project completion.
