We believe the garden is where life unfolds without edges—where time softens, structure fades, and we reconnect with wonder. It is a place to hear water as it dances, to breathe in what cannot be manufactured, and to gather with friends and family as the light gently shifts from day into night. This is where meaning lives. This is where magic quietly reveals itself. Our studio is built on decades of experience rooted in Los Angeles. Ralph Robinson, founder and principal designer, was raised in a time when craftsmanship and imagination defined the landscape. As a young boy, he accompanied his father’s delivery crews into the private homes and gardens of Hollywood’s most influential figures, movie stars, directors, and studio heads, where no expense was spared in creating immersive, dreamlike environments. These early experiences shaped a lifelong understanding of landscape as both art and escape. He went on to study design and landscape architecture at UCLA, while continuing to build gardens throughout Southern California. His work has been influenced by extensive travels studying the great gardens of England, Italy, France, and Japan—bringing a timeless, global perspective into every project. Known for his ability to create beauty with intention and resourcefulness, he has long emphasized practical, cost-conscious solutions, often repurposing materials such as concrete, lumber, and existing plantings to craft thoughtful, sustainable environments. Building on this foundation, Marco Guerrero represents the next generation of the studio—bringing a fresh, design-forward approach rooted in California modernism. His work focuses on clean geometry, spatial flow, and integrating architectural elements seamlessly into the landscape. With a strong emphasis on outdoor living, Marco designs spaces that are not only visually compelling, but highly functional for everyday life. Together, we design gardens as a sequence of experiences, spaces that unfold and invite movement. Each project is composed of intentional “destinations” within the landscape: a place to gather, a place to pause, a place to dine, reflect, or simply exist. These moments are carefully connected through circulation, materiality, and planting, allowing the garden to be discovered rather than simply viewed.
