About Us

Roland Oehme Landscape Architecture is a landscape architecture practice based in Baltimore, MD. Our primary passion is creating extraordinary places for our clients. We have a deep respect for nature and a strong design emphasis that combines artistic beauty, sustainability, and regenerative design. We have designed grass and perennial gardens, edible plant gardens, native plant gardens, permaculture gardens, pollinator friendly gardens, rain gardens, roof gardens, and many more. We work with residential, commercial, educational, and institutional projects, and are open to working on any type of project.

Roland is extremely knowledgeable about plants and trees and is a delightful person with whom to work. We live in a heavily treed area, so Roland was cognizant of keeping the semi-rural feel of the property when he selected plants that were wilder and less formal in character. Like his late father, the well known Wolfgang Oehme, Roland is creative and completely absorbed in his work.

Roland created a beautiful perennial garden in a section of our backyard. He planted many different types of native plants that would attract butterflies and birds. Sometimes we would see 20-30 goldfinches alight on the flowers. He created a detailed map of the garden which is a work of art itself. We won an award from our neighborhood garden and landscaping committee for the garden Roland created. He was always cheerful and was a pleasure to work with.

Roland designed, installed and maintains s pollinator garden for me. I couldn't be more delighted with the results. It is a joy to look at and I get compliments all the time . He was easy to work with and very efficient. Recommend him highly .

Very happy with Roland Oehme LA. Roland really knew the plants appropriate for the conditions of my space. Offered a large selection of plant alternatives. Came up with a layout I really like. Selected healthy and attractive plant to install. All the things you want from a landscaper.

Roland is an extremely knowledgeable and creative landscape designer. He has maintained our beautiful backyard (originally designed by his father) since we purchased the home in January 2015. He has taken on large projects like replanting our large koi pond, to small projects like planting annuals in our planters. We would recommend him for any project.
