Janet installed a pool for us and it has been a nightmare since the beginning. The false promises on timing were almost weekly. She said two months and it took 6. They never held up their end of the deal with fixing issues either. We have a heater that needs to be fixed and she has not responded to my email in over a month. She also asked for payment before she could complete the job because “she lost money on our pool” and that should have been a red flag then. I do not recommend scape outdoor design unless you want an incomplete project.

Scape Outdoor Design surpassed all expectations and Janet’s communication and attention to detail was hands down the best business experience we have had in a time where we feel mediocrity is the norm. Janet and her team were the closest you can get to perfection and we cannot wait to use her again for future projects!

We hired Scape to install a pool and spa in my backyard. The cost ended up being ~$90K all-in for a container pool and a small amount of decking around it.
Scape provided a warranty with the pool install. They have failed to stand behind their work at all and are not doing anything to warrant any of it.
Chain of events:
-Scape installed pool and hot tub
-Hot tub had consistent electrical issues
-We brought to Scape's attention numerous times and they said it must be a manufacturing issue and refused to do anything about it.
-Highly skilled electrician found numerous issues with their electrical implementation, including using a 50 amp outlet, and said it was not remotely at code. He was working on electrical and said he can't leave it like that and could risk losing his license, so he fixed it.
-Pool continued working just fine
-Pool plumbing had no insulation and broke during the cold.
-Although it is absolutely unrelated, Scape construction said the electrical work was the root cause (this is totally inaccurate) and refused to fix the plumbing issue and says the electrical work voided the warranty.
-Even coming out would often take weeks but then they would look at issues and blame someone else
Ultimately, Scape is unresponsive, provided poor workmanship in many areas of the process, noted several times "this project put us over our skis quite a bit" or some equivalent, and then contracted for a warranty that it has failed to provide.

I did a similar project in another state. What an amazing experience this was!!!!
Every step of the way was perfect! I cannot recommend Scape highly enough. Janet and her subcontractors were communicative, honest, on time, in budget and the work is wonderful. Seriously, call Scape! Sooooooo worth every penny.

I cannot recommend Scape Outdoor Design more highly. I used them to design my backyard deck and fire pit area. It was a challenge due to the size and dimensions of my backyard. Janet really took the time to listen to what I wanted and came up with a design that was functional and perfect for my backyard. I can honestly say Scape Outdoor Design really saved me a lot of time and money had I gone with one of my own designs. I intend to use Scape Outdoor Design again for my next outdoor project. Some of the best money I ever spent.

Justin McCallon, representative of Moon Sapphires Realty LLC, notified us via text on Friday, February 3, 2023 that the Ecopool we had installed was leaking. We sent a technician on the following Monday, February 6 to assess the situation. Upon arrival, our technician observed major alterations to our electrical work. Another party had "tapped into'' our electrical setup for the pool and hot tub equipment in order to install an additional piece of equipment. Our technician has photos of what he found upon arrival.
The electrical work for the Ecopool and hot tub were subcontracted to a licensed electrician, L&R Electrical. Their work was warrantied directly to us as the general contractor on this project. It was stated in the contract between Scape Outdoor Design LLC and Moon Sapphires Realty LLC that any alterations would void the warranty. Our electrical setup was built to handle only the pool and hot tub we were contracted to install. Mr. McCallon informed us that the 3rd party installed a pool wifi controller. This should have been done by a licensed electrician who understood the need for a separate source of power.
The plumbing issues described in Mr. McCallon’s complaint were very likely caused by the electrical alteration (power was then improperly distributed to our equipment). The plumbing issues were reported to us 2 days after freezing temperatures in the area. If the pump is not working, the plumbing pipes are likely to freeze during such cold temps.
Mr. McCallon was upset about the malfunctioning equipment and expensive repairs needed. He reported that his 3rd party contractor blamed us (Scape Outdoor Design LLC) for having a faulty electrical setup from the start. Our licensed electrician, L&R Electrical, would have been willing to warranty the work if given the opportunity. Unfortunately our contract with them was void as a result of the alteration. Mr. McCallon reported to Scape Outdoor Design LLC that a 3rd party pointed the finger in our direction, as is common in the industry.
Mr. McCallon was a pleasure to work with during the construction process. However, his request that we cover the repairs costs performed by another party were unreasonable and outside of our contractual obligation. We can only derive from Mr. McCallon’s requests that he was unaware of the terms of our contract, specifically regarding the warranty process. The warranty was for 3 years and was a standard and fair warranty.
We take tremendous pride in our workmanship and client relationships. We feel this review is inaccurate and unfairly damaging. We recognize that there are going to be situations in business and in life that are unfair, and hope the comments and positive reviews from our other clients will provide evidence on how we operate.
We welcome any questions related to this negative review.
