Awesome company! Schwartz & Associates landscaped the front and side of my yard ... very rural and uneven landscape. They came up with ideas I would never have thought of and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. David and Lisa both listened to concerns, ideas and complaints about the existing landscaping (or lack thereof) and turned it into something I am extremely pleased with, especially now that much of the landscaping has matured. The hardscaping was perfect for the site and the entrance to my property is now something that is aesthetically pleasing and easy to maintain. They were on time, professional and great fun to work with, as was their staff. I highly recommend them!

I affectionally refer to David Schwartz as our "Landscape Therapist"! He has multiple suggestions and solutions to every thing that comes up, and always reassures us that no matter the challenge or want, there is a way to make it work... What I especially appreciate is how he can create different visions for our yard that is appropriate for the different stages our family goes through, and can help me come up with ways to do things on a tight budget when needed. Thanks to David's vision and suggestions, we now have a beautifully functional yard complete with a peaceful space for adults and a fun filled play area for our (and the neighborhood kids) to enjoy. He also goes over and above to be available to reply to my text messages when I need a quick question answered (like while I was waiting in line at the Garden Store and needed specific advice on which product to buy just yesterday) and he has all the best resources in his network who can help with just about anything landscape, yard and garden care related. The work we've asked him to help with is relatively small compared to some of the amazing large scale projects he does, yet he treats us with the same level of care and attention to detail. I cannot recommend David enough for his creativity, vast range and depth of knowledge and easy-going yet highly professional manner. He's the person you want to help you design your yard, oversee the project then sit down and enjoy a glass of wine with when it's all done to perfection.

David is a pleasure to work with. We have worked with David on numerous very successful projects with our customers and David also helped us with the landscaping of our own home prior to our daughters wedding. We used David to redesign our deck. The outcome is all we imagined and more. We now have a beautifully designed deck that wraps around the back of the house where the dining room opens with newly added French doors to a waterscape carved into the natural hillside. David was excellent at visualizing ideas and solutions that hadn’t occurred to us, selling those he thought we could embrace and finding alternatives when we pushed back. In addition, he executed on the ideas we brought to him with the result exceeding our expectations. His ability to visualize elevations and incorporate the new design into the previous work was extraordinary. The result is a property that flows elegantly and is available for us to use in a manner optimum for our lifestyle. His crew is excellent: skilled, professional, clean and efficient.

We had a wonderful experience working with Schwartz and Associates this past spring/summer. As new homeowners needing a little direction on how to tackle a blank slate outside, David was able to come in and design a layout and plan that exceeded our expectations. He laid out meticulous plans, a breakdown on budget and details that would come towards the end of the project. David had weekly check-ins with us and explained options we had in order to stick around the original budget. His team was extremely professional, courteous and hard working throughout the process. Upon completion, David helped us tie up loose ends that we wanted to have done design wise. Schwartz & Associates did a phenomenal job in designing and building two wonderful decks and in landscaping our grounds. David designed a deck adjacent to our kitchen that was transformational in integrating the indoor/outdoor flow of our home. David provides outstanding design expertise. He is highly skilled at creating a landscaping plan appropriate for the traffic flow and microenvironment of a house, suggesting plants and building materials that add to the natural environment, and developing an efficient irrigation system. The Schwartz & Associates work crew was highly professional, and they were happy to work with us in fine-tuning their jobs as they worked. Overall, we couldn’t be more pleased with the job done by David and his crew. The proof is in the pudding. All who visit are universal in their admiration for the beautiful setting of our home.

I have worked with David Schwartz and his associates on several challenging large scale projects throughout Marin County. Their work is excellent, efficient and timely. If you need attention to detail, excellent execution, and highest cost effectiveness I would highly recommend hiring them.

We hired David Schwartz, Schwartz and Associates, and were disappointed from the get go. He was difficult to communicate with, his estimate was extremely high and his work was poorly done--all in all, we regretted our decision to hire him early on. When we finally told him that we were no longer interested in his services after many problems and much dissatisfaction, he had to revise his final invoice to make up for (only a few of) the inadequate things he delivered. To add insult to injury, David went to the city to remove the permit that had been submitted for our job (something we had paid for). That was a terrible thing to do and entirely unnecessary. Holding up our job completion is really unfortunate behavior and we feel that others should know about our very regrettable experience.

Having used David as both a Landscape Designer and Project Manager, I have no hesitation in recommending his services. He designed and implemented a complex project, and delivered the project on time and on budget. His collaborative style, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines made him a pleasure to work with. His follow up continued after the completion of the work and is still involved with us today.

David and his team were wonderful to work with - from the design process through the final construction. The changes to our yard are amazing. With David's help we now have a gorgeous space for idling away an afternoon, hanging out with friends, or throwing a barbecue party. His vision and expertise developed an underused area into an outdoor extension of our home. I can't recommend him highly enough!
