Southern Landscape

I wish to acknowledge and thank Megan, Aaron and Fico and his crew for the excellent work they provided my wife and I on several fronts - this included drawing up the plans for and completing our outdoor spiral rock path and seating area, and making needed improvements to our sprinkler system and waterfall. Not only does Southern Landscape do quality work, but they went out of their way to accommodate me on several occasions, and for that I am eternally grateful. One would be hard pressed to find a better all-purpose landscape company than Southern Landscape. Thanks again for all your efforts! James Mudd

My wife and I searched for a landscaper to help us build out our flagstone patio in the backyard and came across Southern Landscape. They created some amazing concepts however the quoted costs were over our initial budget discussed (the drawings truly were beautiful though). Jason (the owner) reached out via email and phone to address the miscommunication around our budget and properly handled the situation. Although we didn't use SL on this project we hope to use them for others, their work is truly beautiful.

We first retained Southern Landscape for a small project, and liked their work so much that we hired them again for a larger overhaul of our complicated backyard that involved trees, turf, plants and design features, as well as restoring the functionality of water feature and rainwater capture systems already in place. From design through installation to follow-up, they were thoughtful, thorough and professional - and even when one element was slightly delayed, they upgraded a plant to thank us for our patience! They are really good people who do great work, and we are very pleased to highly recommend them to others.

We enjoyed working with Southern Landscape very much.. They made our vision a reality with their expertise. In particular, their focus on design and detail. We were amazed to see how the project manager(landscape designer) and crew worked so well together. They were very professional and knowledgeable. We felt that regardless any question or problems that would arise, they addressed it with no difficulty and made us feel that we're in excellent hands. Our landscape designer, Megan, with her excellent communication skills, helped the project run very smoothly. She designed a beautiful gate door for us! We hope to work with Southern Landscape again in the future on other projects.

Blake and the team at Southern Landscape did a fairly large remodel of our back yard including the building of a retaining wall, complete overhaul of our outdated pool, installation of a new spa, and a complete outdoor kitchen. It has been nearly 5 years since the end of the project but they absolutely did a wonderful job. Southern Landscape offered both a design team also. They finished the project in a timely fashion and on budget. Blake was also in constant communication with us. Our backyard is still in wonderful shape so that attests for the quality of the work. They were professional in their work and Southern Landscape also has helped maintain the project with some routine uptake. Thank again.

We were enlisted by Ross Kloosterhuis of Southern Landscape to add motorized shade systems to a residential open-air pavilion. The designed addition was built to create a functional outdoor living area for their clients. The structure was erected with great craftsmanship and the project was executed with much attention to detail. Ross and team managed the project for a very smooth working relationship between contractors and client. We would highly recommend enlisting Southern Landscape for outdoor design projects.

We are currently working with Kim Kinser and the crew from Southern Landscape Outdoor Design & Construction for the landscaping at our new home. In addition to landscaping, our project included construction work as well...pouring a patio, extending the driveway, designing & fabricating a fire feature; stone work...planter boxes, tree well, fence & mailbox pillars; accent lighting...uplighting on the house, path/walkway lighting, in canopies and bases of trees, mailbox pillar, flagpole; replacing the irrigation system; installing duplex receptacles throughout the yard; etc. We were looking for plants that are heat tolerant, deer resistant and as close to maintenance free as possible, etc. We wanted a natural look and feel to our yard. Kim and the crew repurposed tons of rocks and boulders from our yard (which saved us a lot of money). She is a self-professed rockaholic and has a real handle on the Texas flora. With this extensive knowledge, Kim designed and has created a real oasis in our yard for us. We are in awe with what she has done with it. Kim was the best thing that ever happened to us with our new home! We are very happy with her. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with her. She is very personable and encourages open discussion regarding our project. It has been a very fluid project because she has been open to our many modifications. Even with all the changes we have made, she and the crew have kept up with deadlines. Weather has been the only thing that has interfered with our schedule. Kim is an experienced professional. She earned her horticulturist degree from Texas A&M, was a Master Gardener in CA and worked extensively in AZ. Her ability to create a natural habitat is unmatched by anything we have ever seen. You are not going to find anyone more qualified to work in this climate or with a better work ethic than Kim.

We hired Southern Landscape to "build out" our back yard complete with planter boxes, stone waterfall, lots of rock work & walls, new plantings, stairs and lighting. The crew came in and made quick work of a large project and were done within a couple of weeks as promised. I have worked with a lot of contractors and subs over the years and Southern did what they said they would on time and without significant supervision on our part. I highly recommend them.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of our landscape project, designed and installed by Southern Landscape. Our yard was transformed from a somewhat generic design with an under-utilized lawn to a water wise-- fabulous and functional outdoor-living oasis for our family to enjoy for years to come. We had a general idea of the changes we wanted to make. Southern LS worked with us, utilizing state-of-the-art CAD system technology to produce a coherent plan reflecting our mutual vision that included a raised-bed vegetable garden, bocce ball court, dining pergola and more. Being able to see graphical representation with moveable elements was invaluable. They have extensive knowledge of native plants and trees that they seamlessly incorporated into our landscape along with native rock and boulders. The quality of their craftsmanship was impressive. They beautifully blended the new hardscape features with our existing structures. Southern Landscape workers were hard-working, professional, courteous and neat.

I cannot express how pleased I am with the outdoor kitchen that Southern Landscape built for our house. It was the best decision I could have made. From the beginning, they work with you to capture your needs/wants and then iterate through the design process so you are able to visualize the plans. What I really like is that they do everything: they will pull any required permits, they have carpenters, electricians, masonry, and landscaping experts all on staff who all know what they are doing. And, they cleaned up the job site each day. The craftmanship was first rate! Our outdoor kitchen is gorgeous. I will definitely be hiring them again for future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone considering outdoor projects.
