Southview Design

Our large yard (1/3 of an acre within the Twin Cities) had fallen into disrepair before we purchased it. We hired Southview to work with us over several months to design a new design (formal English Garden), implement the plan, and come twice a year for upkeep. The work has been fabulous and, as important, the range of talents that they bring to landscape design and work is tremendous.

We just had Southview design come back and do another small project for us. And as with the first project, every detail was well communicated, laid out, and implemented. We couldn’t be happier with every part of our project. We worked at Alyson through the entire process, and she was fantastic. I would highly recommend Southview to Anyone, considering a landscape project.

I've done major landscaping projects with Southview Design at three different homes now, with our most recent project being complete as of today and looking beautiful. You will work with a designated designer from start to finish on a project (thank you Angela and Justin!) who really know their stuff -- from plants to types of natural stone or concrete options to permit requirements. They will listen to you and answer questions, adjust your project to fit your budget, roll with you when you change your mind or aren't sure what you want (that would be me!). You'll have a project manager who you'll meet and have contact information for, who can answer any questions as you guys. They will be on-time or ahead of schedule as much as our crazy weather permits and they will definitely stick to quoted prices so you won't be surprised by anything going over budget. They guys on their crews are always pleasant and hard-working. And most important - your landscaping will be just beautiful! When we sold our home on Lake Minnetonka where we'd had Southview Design do the landscaping, the thing we were most sad about leaving was our beautiful yard!

We are beyond happy with the results of a major landscape project that was both designed and completed with Southview. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Sean from start to finish. This company is well known and respected, and based on our experience, I couldn’t agree more. It is another great example that you get what you pay for and more. Sean brought to us a design that we never would have come up with on our own, and it provided us with far more useable space as well as a modern look to coincide with our more contemporary home - all while being family friendly and low maintenance compared to what we had. He was also able to work with us on removing and adding different materials to work within our budget as well as take on requests as the construction began. The crews were also top-notch. We had Southview at our place for about eight weeks, and everyone was always professional. The crew even swept the driveway at the end of the day. Our neighbors commented on how impressed they were with the crews. We live on a private road with very little space, and not once did we run into issues or complaints around trucks being in the way. The entire experience truly felt “white-glove.” Communication was always clear, and we had daily check-ins during construction to make sure everyone was on the same page. We didn’t have to worry about much, yet this was a huge project. From other projects, that is very rarely the case. We love our new yard and are extremely happy we decided to do it. If you’re shopping around for a landscape/architect or considering a landscape project, make sure this group is on your list.

Angela was great to work with. She listened to what I did and did not want and then came up with a great design. The crew was great. They answered our questions and made a couple tweeks during the process. They were very respectful of our thoughts and comments. I would definitely work with them again.

We are so pleased to have had Southview come out to level our pavers. The pavers had settled after new construction and Sean came out and made recommendations for what needed to be done. The project was scheduled in a timely manner and completed the week he projected. Sean inspected mid project and made sure everything was done as specified so the pavers would drain properly and access our patio comfortably.

We are very disappointed with what Southview Design was hired to do and what was done. This spring, we hired them to improve drainage system around our house. The project was not done properly from the begining. After several emails back and force the project was completed only in the middle of November. The concept of " Do it once, Do it right" dose not apply to Southview Design for sure.

We were very pleased with our experience with Southview Design. In particular our interactions with Sean Flaherty. As a designer, he was very organized and detail orientated. From inception, he was very responsive to our ideas and came up with a clear budget amount and design. The field staff were friendly and very professional. Our experience working with Southview Design was excellent. Meg worked with us on options for our back yard retaining wall, walkway and double patio project. We met with Meg and arrived at a final project design. Accurate estimates were furnished to us and the project was completed on budget and on time. Sergio and our deck contractor identified a problem with our foundation before any work began. If this had not been identified early in the process it would have compromised the entire project. Constant attention was placed on proper management of water flow away from the house. Steve managed our complex back yard project and executed the plan with a high level of competency and professionalism. The crew took the time to carefully select each boulder to maximize both function and aesthetics. Our project required the crew to hand carry each boulder from the front of the house to the work site in the back yard. Several of our neighbors commented on how hard the crew worked when they were on the site. In summary the team at Southview Design exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend their services for landscape design and installation.

We have been very happy with the level of customer service we have received from Southview Design. They made sure we were happy and satisfied with each area of our landscape project. If there were things we wanted changed, they accommodated us immediately and with good cheer. They genuinely wanted us to have the design we wanted to enjoy for years to come. Jake, Paco, and their team were very responsive in their communications when we had questions or wanted changes made during the installation phase.
