About Us

Albuquerque's Full Scope Outdoor Design, Build & Maintenance Expert
Albuquerque's Full Service Landscape Design, Installation and Maintenance Expert. Steve began in Orange County, CA in the fine arts as a photographer, artist and designer. This passion soon led to bringing this love for color, composition, scale and texture into the landscape medium. After taking care of landscapes in Anaheim Hills, California for a couple of years, Steve moved to Albuquerque in 1980 to take graduate classes in Art History and Photography. He soon continued in landscape design and maintenance to take care of his family and “Art Habit”. Over the past 38 years, these two passions have dove tailed into a very enjoyable and successful creative process. The most enjoyable part of this job is meeting and listening to the ideas and goals of new and existing clients and developing a plan for bringing about their dreams and vision. We are blessed with committed, skilled staff who have worked together for many years to serve our clients needs. Most of our team has been at Steve Shelly Landscapes for over 12 years, some up to 20 years. This longevity brings about a smooth working environment and a group who knows the goals and intricacies of this company.

SIMPLY THE BEST is truly the BEST! Steve Shelly is very creative and artistic. He designed and completed a fountain and surrounding low stucco wall with plantings, lighting and irrigation. Thanks to Steve’s professional, thorough, and experienced crew the fountain is beautiful and definitely the focal point in the yard. They returned later to clean up landscaping in the large back, trimming, educating us on the plantings, taking care to avoid the sprinkler heads. Again – punctual, professional, listening to our suggestions and questions. He is definitely the BEST and we plan to use his services and design suggestions in the future. Carolyn and Dave Clark

We have hired Steve Shelly Landscapes to do numerous landscaping projects for us over the last six years. Steve takes the time to really listen to the client and incorporate their input before developing a comprehensive plan that allows the customer to include, exclude, or even make changes based on the individual customer's preference. His work crews are just as friendly and knowledgeable as Steve and were happy to answer any questions. They always kept the worksite neat and orderly. There were no surprises when the job was done, as the project budget was thoroughly explained before the project began and everyone was in agreement as to what would be accomplished. All of our projects have been completed in the time allotted and we were kept informed of any changes due to weather, which cannot be accounted for ahead of time. We have never hesitated to use Steve Shelly Landscapes and highly recommend them.

This company is the best. Integrated our ideas into the design and followed through on a pretty ambitious project with consistent professionalism and good communications. We'e sitting out on our patio enjoying the results. Seems that everything is in bloom, adding color and personality to our home. Took several months over a period of more than one year.

Steve Shelly Landscapes are artistic and professional. We tried other landscapers, but they were actually just yard guys. Friends had used Shelly and recommended them (I wish we had Houzz). Shelly started with beautiful proposed designs drawn out for us. Then made the yard look just that. Worth every penny. The only bad part - we then had to move to Chicago, and haven't yet found anyone that good.

Steve has worked with me through three different homes in 30 years and the quality of his work has never fell short of excellent. I have never had to question the planning, cost, scheduling, supplies, workers, results, or followup. In a changing world it is nice to know a small measure of consistency and reliability.
