Tom Norton and his team are amazing Landscape Architects! They have been my go-to landscape architects and designers since 2011 and we've collaborated on over a dozen residential projects together. Tom even designed the landscaping for my previous office space in San Jose, and walking thru his design on a daily basis was a special treat! That experience further cemented Tom and team as my go-to landscape designers.

We had the pleasure of working with Tom to design our front yard, backyard, and two sunk-in basement light wells, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome and the process. Our outdoor space is starting to look amazing as we finish construction —from the custom swim spa to the perfect selection of plants and other material, a spacious grass areas, and well-designed light wells. He has integrated the unique architecture of our main house - detailed stone work, arches, woodwork etc. into these regions. Tom has demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, catching potential problems early on. We changed our mind so many times but he was very patient and educated us through step, making the process enjoyable. Tom is super hands-on during construction. There has been so many times where I give him a call from site and we discuss the problem with construction crew live and resolve it. It has happened so many times. Our concrete guy, landscape guy and masonry person are constantly reaching out to him over text. This was so crucial to execution - saving time and money. Additionally, Tom was instrumental in obtaining permits from the Los Altos Building Department, handling everything from writing and calls to video meetings. His coordination with engineers and other professionals was crucial. He chose every item for the project, and his recommendations were spot on. We couldn't have done it better without his guidance. Overall we've thoroughly enjoyed working with Tom and if you're looking for a talented, reliable, and supportive architect, look no further than Tom. He was critical to create a space we absolutely love!

I have used Tom for two landscape projects; one for my home in Carmel and one in Noe Valley, SF. Both times he exceeded my expectations with beautiful, drought tolerant designs and use of my favorite plantings. He created a space that is modern and exciting. We first found Tom's work from our friend's beautiful landscape/pool project in Woodside. We love his modern touch and contemporary design. The plant selection was totally in sync with the local climate and native landscape. Since we are located in South Bay, we were concerned about the distance between his office and our house. It turned out it was not an issue at all. Tom spent a lot of time traveling to our direction. He and his team are also very familiar with local city regulations and requirements, which is not an trivial issues in our city. Tom is very easy and fun to work with. He is a careful listener and takes in all of our preferences, requirements, and limitations into his design, and incorporates with his professional experiences. He makes many very valuable recommendations not only based on esthetics, budget, construction, but as well as future maintenance. His 3D design also helps us to visualize the project before construction. Tom is very helpful even after the design phase. He is very patient to answer lots of our questions and very accommodating to our changes. He also works hard to try to get discounts for us from outdoor vendors. We are enjoying our backyard, and receiving many compliments. We are so glad that we worked with Tom.

My husband and I hired T.H. Norton to help us design and completely overhaul our front and side yards, as well as our small backyard, in San Francisco.
