Troy is Amazing! His thoughtful process provides the best solutions that are both elegant and functional. Always looking for ways to inject both French and subtle English influences, he can provide ideas you wouldn't think of. I pride myself on being a gardening buff; it is a favorite hobby. But, Troy elevates all of my ideas to another level of perfection. Just to watch him draw is a treat.

Troy Rhone designed and arranged the construction of a new brick patio and pergola in our backyard. It is both beautiful and functional. The patio has a built-in grill and plenty of room for furniture and plants. He also re-landscaped a portion of our backyard and it is beautiful, especially in the blooming months. We have a side porch and Troy removed what was there (the plantings) and put in boxwood parterres and we plant seasonal flowers inside them for color and interest. They are proportioned with larger boxwoods on either side of the steps, a mondo grass border, and tall arborvitae at the rear outer edge of the parterre area. Zoysia grass surrounds and borders the 2 parterre areas. We have received many compliments on all of these things Troy added to our yard. He is a talented professional and conducts himself with courtesy and integrity. He has extensive knowledge, great taste, met deadlines and budgets and has reliable people who work with him.

Troys darling cottage in Crestline had the most beautiful garden, window boxes, box woods, pea gravel drive, statuary, etc that I knew this is whom I needed to work with. He is incredible and simply the best!

Troy is a true visionary when it comes to landscape architecture. His work is detailed, thoughtfully designed and he has a real gift for implementing designs that are both beautiful and functional. He is also very personable, a true pleasure to work with!

Troy Rhone Garden Design was hired in October, 2013 to evaluate, design, and landscape the garden of our newly constructed home. It was obvious the existing soil was extremely poor, almost pure clay and had been severely compacted by the builder. The condition of the soil was discussed at length with Mr. Rhone and a budget was set. There was no soil testing performed- such as a perculation test- although it was obvious that water stood for days on areas of the ground surface. French drains were not discussed. Mr. Rhone recommended bringing in top soil initially and advising us to add amendments each year to the soil to establish drainage. During the planting, it was noted that some plant holes were filling with water. The solution offered by the landscaper was to raise the affected plants several inches. During the next several months, we noted that many plants appeared "stressed". When we checked into the problem, we found most plant holes were filled with water very near to the top. Mr. Rhone was called. Over the following two days, we, not Mr. Rhone, removed 65 to 70 plants and put them in pots in an attempt to save them. Mr. Rhone, the Alabama Extension Service, and several soil experts were brought in. The general consensus was severe clay compaction that prevented drainage. All agreed that the only solution to the problem was multiple French drains, and raising the planting beds by at least 6 to 8 inches with more top soil. We asked Mr. Rhone why soil drainage testing had not been done which would have shown that French drains were necessary - his response was that he was working within the budget given to him. He assumed no responsibility for the expensive disaster. Another landscape company was hired to put in French drains and completely redo the garden.

Troy Rhone exceeded our expectations for professionalism, design ideas, inspiration and follow through. He made the entire process of our renovation so seamless and easy. He was a pleasure to work with and he listened to everything I said that I wanted and then delivered more than I could have ever dreamed possible. I love my front yard and I didn't think that was possible.

Not enough can be said to describe the true talent of Mr. Rhone. He's a true Landscape artist capable of telling an unscripted story with his creations, something only a few masters have been able to do (Mizner, Saladino, Fatio, Porcinai...). Troy's landscape creations embodies the historical contexts in which they were meant to be a part of and organically connect sections of the outdoors together like chapters in a Victorian novel optimizing functionality and increasing livability. We can only hope that we'll always play a small role in every narrative he writes and together redefine the meaning of the 'Al Fresco' southern charm.

Troy Rhone has the level of knowledge, taste, and skill that we look for in everything we do. That is why we use him for the gardens and landscaping for our homes. He is polite, talented, and knows what works well with the style of home the client has. He is one of the top garden designers that Birmingham & the South has to offer.

This company work with our design and had helpful hints to help us. They where on time and always clean up after themself. Hands down one of the. great company's around to work with.

Troy Rhone was selected for the landscape design of our remodeled Georgian home by renowned architect Bill Ingram. Troy is a true visionary. He transformed our two acres of overgrown forest into a beautiful tailored lawn replete with a stone wall and elegant plantings. Mr. Rhone is a gentleman in every respect. We found him to be honest, fair, timely, and thorough. He has high expectations of himself and his subcontractors. We highly recommend him and plan to use him for the next stages of our landscape design.

Troy designed our perennial garden, vegetable garden/ hen house, and our boxwood parterre. He also is responsible for numerous finishing touches to our landscape, including holly "screens", a few shade trees, water features, and planting containers. Troy has a very artistic eye and has been very helpful giving us suggestions for color in and around our garden as well as creative ways to soften some of our hardscape. His attention to detail is outstanding. Troy helped us address drainage issues and other problems with trees and shrubs that were not thriving in their current locations. Troy is very professional and has been a pleasure to work with. He is always available to answer questions along the way and is very easy-going in his style and manner. We have been extremely pleased and impressed with the quality of work Troy provides. He hires very talented individuals to help him install plants, do stone work, carpentry, etc., and he oversees every detail. Overall, he has done an excellent job.
