Verdant Grounds has been whoohoo amazing! Jamie stopped by for an initial consultation. Her ideas were genius and eye for what would look magnificent, uncanny. She easily incorporated our vision into a landscaping master piece. After meeting with Jamie, she scheduled a day for her landscaping artists to work their magic on our front yard canvas. And once they were done we had our dream yard at a price that was fair. It was so nice to come home and see their work for the first time. I am absolutely happy with our yard. After the work was done, they followed up on a couple of visits to get everything just right. They wanted our yard to be perfect for us. Their commitment to customer service and ensuring there was no room for us, the customer, being anything less than 100% satisfied was impressive. Yay for Verdant Grounds! Thank you so much for making our yard into a work of art.

Verdant Grounds helped my husband and me completely transform our backyard! We went from a grassy hill to a beautiful backyard that now has a patio, new gardens, steps up the hill, retaining walls, and a new seating area. We’ve spent more time in our yard in the past year than we have in the past 15+ years that we’ve been in our house. Jonathan managed the project from start to finish, which included: working with a landscape architect, stone mason, irrigation, and landscape crews. Jonathan was very easy to work with and very responsive. We would highly recommend working with Verdant Grounds.

In my experience, finding a residential contractor for any services that will be up front, honest, and professional is a challenge by itself, but finding one who also does a fantastic job and stands by their work is like my 3 yo daughter finding that pink unicorn she's always looking for. I was referred to Jonathan and Verdant Grounds through one of his design colleagues and he was immediately responsive and professional. If he said he was going to be there, he was; if he said he could do something by a certain date and time, he did. I was amazed at the service level, the communication, and the quality of the work. I had initial design ideas for a small courtyard at my rental townhouse, and he implemented the ideas with a more practical and economic solution that exceeded my expectations. We aren't talking about retail sales here, landscaping and hardscaping is conceptual and not an exact science. During the installation we had to make some changes, or substitutions rather. Jonathan did an excellent job of working the problem and coming up with a better solution, which impressed me because it showed he cared about the end result and overall product, and not just getting paid. Which brings me to the icing on the cake. Despite the stellar service and the beautiful result, the cost was extremely reasonable. Especially compared to the level of service, quality, professionalism (or lack thereof), and the price quoted by his competitors. The greatest compliments you can ever receive in professional services are referrals and repeat business. I have already referred Jonathan and Verdant Grounds to several friends and neighbors in Deep Ellum, Lakewood and Highland Park, and I have already had him come out and redo (less than a year old) landscaping done by a competitor around the pool at our residence in Lakewood. I read the one negative review about Verdant and what I can offer in rebuttal based on my experience is that as a home owner, I may think I know what's best for certain aspects of my home, but truth is, I'm not a landscaper, nor architect, nor plumber. We have no way of knowing that our preferences are reasonable or even workable. Problems or issues are going to be a part of the equation sometimes, and how the players involved respond can determine the outcome. When Jonathan encountered an issue that resulted in a slight delay due to product availability, he communicated the issue timely, took responsibility for it, gave a revised timeline, and stuck to it. Delays, defective products, and even installation miscues are going to happen sometimes. I found Jonathan to be extremely professional in the way he communicated and implemented the solution. That to me spoke volumes. Lastly, Verdant has gone above and beyond in addressing warranty issues. I have been happy with their responsiveness and the efforts to resolve minor issues before becoming major ones. I will continue to have Jonathan and Verdant Grounds do all my landscape design and installation work.

I have truly enjoyed working with Jonathan and the Verdant Grounds team. My home had many challenges with the landscape. Jonathan brought some creative ideas with his design team and plant choices providing an impactful improvement, my wife and I were looking for. It was an easy process, he is was available around my work schedule and provided 5 star client service to us through the landscape process to meet our timeline...in time for the summer events at our home.

I have worked with Verdant Grounds and Jonathan Schlimme, its President, on several projects and have been thoroughly pleased with the quality of work and professionalism of their crews and team. Jonathan, specifically, is tremendously thorough and personable. Whether working with me, the designer, or the client, he consistently displays an ability to listen and respond to the project's and client's needs, while offering expertise and attentiveness to the details. We were looking for a real landscaper, a real gardener, one that would also provide maintenance for the beautiful landscape they created for us. Verdant Grounds proved to be exactly what we had hoped to find Jonathon creatively designed both our front and back yards and we couldn't be happier with his work. They respond almost immediately to any questions or requests that we have. He is more than willing to work with us to use his expertise and our dreams of the yard we have always wanted to have. I couldn't recommend him more highly. We are more than satisfied with Verdant Grounds, we are ecstatic.

Was really disappointed by the work done by Verdant Grounds. When you pay a lot for a service you expect a level of quality that I did not get. The crew had a difficult time installing curved borders and I had to ask them to rework the borders more than once. Also I asked the crew to leave my 5 year old peonies in place (there was no reason to move them as they did not interfere with the new garden border designed by a landscape architect) but the crew moved them anyway. Our new steel border started to chip and rust in a serious way less than a year after the install and it took two emails from me to the owner to get a response and then I was told that they do not warranty steel borders. In summary, this company lacked experience in their field and customer service was unacceptable.

Jonathan and his team at Verdant Ground are so great! Jonathan is super responsive and anticipates my needs which is exactly what we were looking for. My husband mentioned numerous times about his Team of workers attention to detail. They know what they are doing and care about the end result. They want to please the customer so they do little things like even out the gravel on our driveway weekly, just because they know that make the house and gardens look beautiful and maintained!

Jonathan and his team completely transformed our back yard, and it looks amazing! Jonathan really listened to our needs and took his time to explain our options and process, they are professional and easy to work with. Fantastic job Verdant Grounds!
