We hired this company based on their glowing reviews and the impressive photos on their website. That was a serious mistake. The first application was so poor that after waiting five full days before using the driveway, tire marks and even footprints appeared. Clearly, the work was rushed or the materials were substandard. They agreed to return and “fix” it — but made it worse. The final result was streaky, cloudy, patchy, and completely unprofessional. The finish was uneven, the edges sloppy, and the surface looked like it was applied by someone with no experience. We contacted them again, sent photos, and reached out three separate times — but were completely ignored. No acknowledgment, no solution. Even more disturbing: one of the pristine photos shown on their website is a two-car garage example — and that’s definitely not what they gave us. The contrast between their advertising and their actual work is shocking. We are now forced to hire a different contractor to redo the entire job properly. Very disappointing. Do not recommend. Do not trust the reviews at face value.

I had a simple project last year to wash my interlocking and apply a new polymeric sand so I called action home services and in beginning they were so polite and came with a lot of promises. They showed up and I have to say that in one day they washed and refilled the later locking with sand which it is un heard of. Since they didn’t allow time for the stones to dry up, sand did not penetrate between the them and soon after I had empty spaces so I called them, they send the same crew to come back and make it better which it did not help, so I complained again and to my surprise they send the same crew to come back but these guys had no idea how to do the job so I asked them to leave me some if the sand and it has been one year that I am repairing their work and still not finished. I never had greens growing between my stones before these guys to show up but now I have to cut the grass on top of my interlocking as well. Save your money and do not hire these guys, specially in Mississauga. They charged me $3000 and probably I have to pay more to fix the damage they left behind! 0 out of 10 rating

Update - October 2025: 5 stars for the warranty service. 1 star for the original project experience. A more senior person from AHS reached out in June to address the outstanding issues that had some up since the work was completed (after I wrote the original review, below). Simon's communication has been excellent, and he has resolved all of the issues we were dealing with as part of the company's "warranty" service. I wish that had been our experience the whole time - if it had, I'd have rated them five stars. As it is, I'm adjusting our rating from 1 star to three -- while they took the problems we still had seriously and handled them well, it's still true that the company didn't seem nearly as concerned during the original project itself, and we were forced to continue trying to work with the same bad project manager despite repeated escalations. Original review (published June 2025) I would love to recommend this company, but I can't. The quality of their work was mostly excellent, and we are enjoying our newly-redone backyard. All of the workers on-site were efficient, hardworking, and highly skilled. The 1-star review comes entirely down to the abysmal, extremely poor level of communication from the project manager during (and after) the entire process, and the lack of any interest from the company's leadership to address the problem despite repeated issues. For example, towards the end of the project, much of the work was complete, however several critical items were not. In particular, our new pergola was not finished. The project manager was entirely unhelpful despite multiple requests for updates on the timeline, when he bothered to respond at all. I had to escalate the problem within the company to get things moving again. And to be clear - we were not demanding unreasonable things - just clarity on the timeline, and a heads if the carpenters were not able to come on the day promised. This is just one example of the extremely poor level of communication from this company. They would be unresponsive for long periods of time, not provide updates when dates were missed, and then promise new dates, only to miss those as well, often resulting in us having to change plans since by the time something finally got done it was too late. (For example, we had requested a consultation for an irrigation specialist as we wanted to discuss the options for our yard. It took a full month before the irrigation person arrived, and by then it was too late to do anything as the crew was about to start placing the pavers down and doing the finishes - we ended up having to give up on the irrigation plan entirely). This company charges a premium for its services, and they claim to be proud of their professionalism and customer care, but our experience with them has been mostly just frustrating and exhausting.

If you want the job done quickly this is company for you. If you want customer service and warranty good luck then! I have waited for my warranty a year approximately. For a material they have warranty from their supplier and if a supplier doesn’t want for some reason you will not get it. They did a concrete slub for me and it sank, and I am begging for 3 month to come to do assessment. They are NOT pick up a phone, I did messaging on their website a couple times and they texted me some one will contact you, nothing happens, just manager contacted me a couple times and never returned back. Their 5 year warranty just a gimmick to full you! Will wait patiently a few more weeks then will find another company to fix it and then send them an invoice to Action Home Services.

In August 2024 we hired AHS to remove and replace the asphalt on our shared driveway with our neighbour. After 2 months we had a problem as our portable basketball net started sinking in to the asphalt. After contacting AHS they offered a quick resolution to the problem. We would recommend AHS for any future work. Thanks Avi.

We were very disappointed with the quality control and professionalism from AHS. We found that they didn’t anticipate or adapt to any issues - most significantly that they failed to advise us that we needed a permit for driveway work. This led a shutdown from the city and several month delay while we had to get the correct permits. Once the permit was issued at the start of July, AHS demonstrated no urgency in finishing the project and took until last week in mid-November to have the final touches completed. Due to our frustrations with AHS, we never even pursued the trees and softscaping that we had put together with their designers, and missed an entire growing season as a result of their delays. We also had issues with AHS’ project manager presenting the work to us as completed with significant and obvious deficiencies. I can surmise that he never inspected his crews’ work or had inspected it but was okay with the subpar results. Among the obvious deficiencies were lacking backfill around drains, exposed clay without river rock coverage in a side area, irrigation heads sticking up well above grade, irrigation lines not being buried, irrigation lines being left in the middle of a garden bed where trees are to be planted, and forgetting about putting down mulch. We ended up narrowing the scope of our job and will be getting lighting and planting done through other avenues as AHS did not demonstrate any ability to provide a properly finished and polished project. Anyone hiring AHS should expect to have to act as a project manager themselves; I found I had to extensively research the requirements of each facet of our landscaping and inspect every step of the project as our AHS project manager did not do so himself.

AHS provided high quality workmanship and worked closely with us throughout the entire process to ensure that our project was completed to our specifications and within our budget. They designed and built a retaining wall, walkway, driveway, and other landscaping features (artificial turf, lighting, custom drainage, etc.). Eugene, Kin, Rinat, Enrique, and team were an absolute pleasure to work with! I highly recommend AHS and will hire them again for future projects.

Working with Kin, Rinat, Igor and Team were great. From starting the design to the completion everyone was was very knowledgeable and helpful. They helped us get our patio work completed from the front to the back in a weeks time. Igor and team did a great job communicating with Rinat to let us know when we needed to make adjustments. The work they did was clean and meticulous. Would highly recommend them and will be having them come back to do more work.

Provided good quality workmanship of patio, gazebo, and deck at reasonable rates and the project manager was always available and helpful!

I am very pleased with the services from Action Home Services , they installed the irrigation system this summer, team is very efficient, professional and punctual. Communication is easy and prices are reasonable. Renat came for winterization , service was smooth and fast, he also offered to fix a pipe that I damaged . Very nice.

My experience with Action Home Services was fantastic from start to finish. We had an old retaining wall in our backyard that was failing. Requested a quote through Homestars and Eugene was out to meet with me within 2 days. After our initial discussion we decided to expand the project beyond just the wall and have our entire back garden area updated. Beyond the excellent reviews that Action had on Homestars, what caught my interest in them was the landscape design services they offered. Our experience with the design team was awesome and it really helped us to be able to see how great the transformation could be. We met with our project manager Rinat and within a week work started. Enrique and his crew were great and did a fantastic job. We are so impressed with not only the quality of their work but how quickly they were able to get the project completed. Cannot say enough great things about everyone at Action that we dealt with from Eugene in sales to Shilin on the design team and especially Rinat, Enrique and his team. The transformation in just 12 days in incredible and we could not be happier. Already thinking about our next landscape project next year and will definitely be contacting Action again.

I used Action Home Services to complete a full renovation of my house. I was very happy with the process and final results. The shopping days months in advance helped to visualize the design and keep the project on track. There were some delays due to the unexpected but communication was good and the Team worked extra hours to try to make up. The entire project when smoothly and to plan. AHS helped us design a pool to meet our needs and estimated budget. The worksite was always clean and extra care was taken with surrounding gardens and landscape. Every detail is taken into consideration, and the quality stands above others in the industry. We had two trees trimmed and the canopies opened up, part of the front yard leveled, and new sod installed. We hired AHS to remodel our old kitchen. We are young couple who just bought a house and we wanted a new and updated look. We met a few contractors but AHS gave us a few ideas that we really liked. They did a 3D design to show us out it will look like at the end. The remodeling took almost a month, the crew was great and professional. Communication was good. Finally new driveway. I extended my driveway due to lack of parking space in dt. These guys provided me with engeneer and designer to get the job done. It took them less than a week to excavate everything and bring my new driveway to life. Great guys, very hard working

I hired this company to re do my back yard. Also we wanted to add a pool to make it more suitable for the kids. John came very quickly and gave us the estimate. Later in about 2 weeks Eugene and his crew came in. The crew leader, Qais, was very quick and professional with ew everything he did. At first we were hesitant but once we saw these guys work,I couldn't be more happier. Thanks a lot keep it up guys. P.S. my backyard changed completely only because of these guys. They went beyond my expectations 10 times.

I would like to recommend AHS as a good landscaping company,because they have completed backyard renovation for me and I’m very satisfied with results! Project was to rebuild patio,fix interlocking and install new grass as well as a few flower beds. John was very professional and provided me with estimate right away, we scheduled the work pretty quick in the end of August, within the next 3 weeks the project got started. I was very worried that the team would not fit in my timeframe,since I has to leave on vacation and didn’t want to leave the project unfinished,but they did a great job finishing everything the day before my trip! My asphalt driveway was old, had so many cracks and level was not perfect at all. My wife and I decided to add a fresh look to our driveway and install interlock instead of asphalt. I hired Action Home Services for that. They demolished my asphalt driveway very quick and Eugene helped me to choose the most durable stones for driveway. They installed them in the next few days and result of this was out of our expectation. The level is perfect and stones are great. Overall, great experience with these guys. Next year I am thinking about new deck, please , reserve a spot for me.

We’ve hired Action Home Services to fix the eroding slop in our backyard. Our beautiful backyard slope was washing down water onto the patio with every rain. It was only a matter of time before the whole hill came tumbling down. Our close friend suggested Action Home Services to help us and we are extremely satisfied, the problem disappeared. They used layered plantings of deep- and shallow-rooted trees, shrubs and ground covers to prevent water runoff. Also they redecorate the slope with boulders and stone retaining walls to gradually flatten the incline and slow drainage. Eventually, our backyard looks much better and does not threaten the patio. Highly recommend!
