Benton Outdoor Living did an amazing job! Our point of contact Robert Hager was very responsive and ensured that we were happy and on the same page at every step of the process. All of our requests were met and exceeded! (I have attached some of the before and after pictures) Our front walkway used to become a water feature during rainy days and we needed a drainage system. Benton Outdoor Living was able to provide a drainage solution that also looks great. Now our friends and family can actually use the front walkway in all conditions! The new lighting makes a big difference in the appearance of the house in the evening. Our sprinkler system was broken when we bought the house, but we are so happy to have that up and running. With the sprinklers and drip lines throughout the gardens, it will be so much easier to keep our home green and beautiful all year round! We HIGHLY recommend Benton Outdoor Living to anyone looking to improve their landscaping and we will most certainly be using them again for a future project around our home. Thank you so much!!!

We are a repeat customer...Benton did our outdoor lighting & everything went fine. Bob Hager came to my home & gave me a quote. We went over everything & came up with a plan. We tweaked it & he said he would send someone in approx. 2 weeks. I never heard back so I followed up. He said it was a mix up so he would send someone in 2-3 weeks & again nothing. I called/emailed him & he ignored me. I called the office & spoke to Kathie who was surprised. She called me back & made a bunch of excuses that Bob is a single dad & is busy. Even when I'm busy I get back to clients. Finally Bob emailed saying he was doing me a "favor" trying to squeeze me in because it wasn't that big of a job & usually jobs are 4 months out. I never asked to be squeezed in...put me on the calendar with everyone else. So, is my job not big enough for them? They're picking & choosing what jobs they want? I even emailed John Benton explaining everything only to be completely ignored as well. Horrific customer service! Lastly, a girl named Erica who is new there called me & said she'd call me back the next day but I bet you can guess what happened...no call back...great follow up with this company. I first called them in March & it's now October. At least another landscaper is finally scheduled to do my landscaping & it will look much better than what Benton is capable of since all of their plantings always look the same and they are overpriced. I am saving money to boot!

Excellent experience from start to finish! Bob was our contact person and he was great! Always on time, always professional, courteous and helpful and a very good listener. The 3 guys who did the landscaping were hard working, careful and their nightly cleanup efforts were outstanding. Excellent work. We are very happy with the results. It’s as if our property has been transformed into a little park.

I used Benton to pour a semi circle drive and a retaining wall, plus some stone pavers. Seth was great with getting a design together and in recommending materials. The build of the wall needed to be redone six times to get it right, but the final product is beautiful. When it comes time to build, you have to stay on top of Bob to get the details right. For example, the first time the wall was built, it had an entire extra course on it, and it was not symmetrical. There was another issue with the concrete pour and not properly capping a pipe, but that is a minor issue. They have the skill, but lacked the attention to detail, which required so much re work. Overall though, I recommend them and would use them for my next project.

When searching for a full-service solution provider to partner with our pool installation we struggled to find a company that could provide the end-to-end solutions we were looking for. We needed a landscape and hardscape design that would compliment the new pool and make the best use of the existing grade of the back yard. Benton Outdoor Living was the best decision we could have made. They worked with us to learn what we were looking for and designed a beautiful plan that could be executed in phases which included a retaining wall, landscape and hardscape plan, underground pipe for excess runoff essentially eliminating the swale and giving us a fully useable backyard space complete with grilling station, firepit area, landscape lighting, etc. What an amazing experience! Bob was AWESOME – very accessible and worked collaboratively with us to “engineer” our costs down. While the rain was a challenge, it delayed the project by only a few days – the team worked just about every day, rain or shine. Benton did an exceptional job on our outdoor project, creating a new outdoor living space (paver patio installation) and bringing it to life with beautiful landscaping. Seth Hudson, the Design Manager meticulously drafted the vision (which we did not have) and Bob and his team implemented it flawlessly. We absolutely love our backyard! For 5 years our backyard was a concrete slab and overgrown grass and trees. We had a vision of what we wanted: pergola, fire pit, stoned patio, seating area, beautiful landscape and open area for kids to play. John, Seth and the outdoor team put the vision on paper and made it a reality. They shared ideas and expertise and met with us a number of times putting our vision into motion. Most importantly they worked hard to keep it at budget and they did! We spend so much more time now outdoors in our new backyard thanks to Benton Outdoor Landscapes.

To any of my friends in the York, Gaston, and Mecklenburg County areas who need landscaping, outdoor living area (hardscaping), or drainage control work done, let me recommend my friend Seth Hudson at Benton Outdoor Living. Seth’s knowledge and his creativity are very evident as soon as you start talking to him about your project. One of the really nice things about working with Seth is that he wants and encourages your input on the project design and will tell you honestly whether he thinks something will work or not. Going back to the drawing board is not a problem for Seth in trying to capture your dream landscape or hardscape or in trying to solve your drainage issues. In addition, with Seth, there is no high-pressure salesmanship at all. He presents you with the design concept and the price, and it is your decision from that point.

Benton Outdoor and sales manager Seth Hudson delivered on all expectations for our outdoor patio project. Seth provided options that allowed us to work in our budget and we loved the design he created for the patio and the flower beds. The finished patio/flower beds has created a truly enjoyable outdoor living space for us for years to come.

I had two small yard projects performed by Benton Outdoor Living: (1) replacement of an exterior rail tie retaining wall, and (2) replace drain trough for covered patio gutters that needed to drain down-hill in such a way as to pass by the rear corner of the rest of the house. Instead of replacing the rail ties with a standard brick retaining wall, they suggested a gradient interspersed by large landscaping stones (rail ties are nasty things treated with creosote, and we have young children who like to climb such things, so replacement wasn't an option we would consider). We went for the stones. It was an excellent choice - although the project took longer than expected due to the rains, it as worked perfectly. I think it has now been two years since it was done and, aside from the weeds that pop up from time to time, we're pleased with the result.

We had huge, overgrown bushes and a much neglected flower bed and brick planter in front of our 1950's brick ranch house. Seth, the landscape designer, was able to do a 3D visualization of the space on the computer complete with suggested plantings. We approved the contract and the work was scheduled about a week and a half out. The removal of the old plants, preparation of the beds and replanting was all done in less than a day. We couldn't be more pleased!

We now love our yard! Before Benton outdoor living came to the rescue we probably used the back yard twice in the 3 years we lived here. Now we are enjoying it and inviting friends too. John, Ginny, and the staff were friendly, fair, and fast! We researched and met with over 5 other companies before deciding to use John and his team; Best descion we could have made. The professionalism and customer service is superior to anyone we have dealt with! Highly highly recommend
