Mike and his team did an amazing job in totally re-doing our back yard. Our yard had always been problematic due to its exposure to the sun and other factors. Mike put together a plan that was practical, creative and visually outstanding. We're absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Mike was excellent to deal with as well. He was transparent at all times, kept us up-to-date and worked diligently to complete the job in a timely fashion. We've worked with a lot of contractors over the years and while our experiences have generally been positive, Mike still stood out for his professionalism. If we could give more than 5 stars we would.

We had a mess of a backyard with so many challenges, from a steep slope to a giant rock running through part of the yard. We met with 5 different landscapers ( Mike was highly recommended by a friend of ours) and we really liked Mike and his thoughts on what was needed to transform the yard. Mike exceeded our expectations and it was an incredible transformation , we constantly have people walking by and saying what an amazing job was done on our yard. It was a stressful project with LOTS of unknowns and honestly Mike was amazing to work with and helped us through it every step of the way! He’s a great landscaper and a great person ! We would highly recommend Blue Bear Landscaping!

After years of deliberating, it was time to transform a weary front yard into a functional, appealing and relaxing area. The name Mike Koch, owner of Blue Bear Land Scape Construction, came up in conversation as someone to highly consider. We reviewed his website, which is creative, informative, well organized and kept current. After reading favorable testimonial after testimonial, we reached out to Mike. Upon meeting Mike, discussing our project and reviewing his designs, we were confident that Mike would be able to create that balanced space we were looking for...and he did! Mike communicated with us daily regarding all phases of the project and he and Nick were always mindful of the many children that live in our neighbourhood. His ability to listen, and understand our questions and ideas allowed him to create and present us with a vison that reflected our thoughts and the best use of our space. We have used Mike on a couple of projects, both with success beyond our expectations. He applied his wood working and design skills to create a bespoke Pacific Northwest inspired coffee table for our living room that we adore. More recently he completed a job for us where he modified our existing fence and backyard to create a pad to park/store a 13 ft boler trailer. He was very efficient and finished the job to s a standard beyond our original expectations in less time than we anticipated. Mike is very efficient and hardworking, works with a vision he can clearly express and is very conscientious about any details that take the project to the next level. We would absolutely recommend him.

I have known Mike Koch for 5 years, during which time he has become my ‘go to’ landscape contractor. Through his company, Blue Bear Landscape Construction, he recently completed a project for me, the results of which I am very pleased with. Mike is conscientious and takes his work seriously. He takes pride in is work. He did a professional job to ensure that I was happy with all aspects of the project. Mike works on only one client at a time, thus he is not flitting back and forth between multiple job sites. During the project, he came to the job site every day and worked all day on only my project. He kept me informed when he had to go get supplies or materials, pick up or drop off equipment and go to the dump. Mike takes a collaborative approach to undertaking a project. We discussed and agreed on how he was going to undertake the project. He listened to some suggestions that I had and incorporated them into the project. He commenced the project on the agreed upon day and finished in a timely manner. There were no surprises on the project. I trust Mike and will not hesitate to request his services again on my next landscaping project.

After years of living with a dirt front path after its bricks came apart, we hired Blue Bear to design a front path and garden that we would no longer be ashamed of, and we could not be more delighted with the results. Mike Koch was terrific to work with from start to finish. We didn't have terribly clear ideas about what we wanted, but he listened carefully to our criteria, consulted us at every step of the way, and created a beautiful low-maintenance design that we absolutely love. We now have a solid and attractive stone front path and steps, bordered by a lovely garden incorporating feature rocks and lighting, flowering plants and bushes, some interesting smaller plants we'd never heard of, and even some rosemary and thyme here and there which had never occurred to us but we're so glad to have now. Mike finished everything on time, not even letting the big January snow stop him and his crew, and the final cost was well within our budget. If we ever need any more work done on our property, Mike will be our first and only choice! Thanks, Mike!
