Annie is talented and knowledgeable. She listed and understood our vision and designed a garden that exceeded our expectations manifold. Annie and her team are an absolute pleasure to work with. I would do more project with her in a NY minute. My husband and I and all our friends and family are enjoying our garden. We marvel at it everyday. I actually found Botanical Concerns through the Houzz website.

Short version: we hired Botanical and they did an unbelievable transformation of our backyard. You should hire them. Long version…. After doing extensive homework and meeting with 10 different companies we hired Botanical for a landscape design to help put our ideas on paper. Our backyard was a mix of an old eroding retaining wall and a much larger natural area beneath that wasn't very accessible / usable and prone to flash floods. We knew the final project was going to be a material expense, and we were turned off by most firms that did not want to invest a couple of hours to adequately put a basic design on paper (even when we were willing to pay for such services). Most others were build-oriented for smaller jobs with fewer requirements. After a couple of on-site discussions Annie and Rachel did an excellent effort in translating our thoughts into a beautiful yet practical CAD plan within a couple of weeks (modest fee to cover costs). They also provided a bid for the build itself and while not inexpensive we were confident based on reviews and references the work quality would be outstanding. We used the plan to collect another bid from another highly rated firm on Houzz as a sanity check and then decided to move ahead with Botanical. The only downside was having to wait 4-6 months until they had space for their next large project. Fortunately after about 3 months one of their clients' schedule changed in our favor which allowed our 5-6 week project to begin early. Throughout the build we were consistently impressed and the team lived up to the high expectations we had from all these reviews. They were professional, extremely nice to interact with, kept the work site safe/clean, and their craftsmanship was amazing. I loved the days I could partially work from home and watch them efficiently do such challenging work while keeping an eye for detail. They took pride in their work and did not cut corners. Annie & Rachel were routinely on site and communicated well with us throughout. They helped us make real-time tweaks to the design and advised how we could save money as we expanded the scope slightly. One of the great advantages we also experienced and not written on these reviews was Annie’s network of additional partners built on many years of working relationships. We leveraged her electrician, lighting & irrigation specialist, structural engineer for water-facing retaining walls, and deck/fencing partner. We interviewed several for the latter project expansion as it was expensive but still ended back with hers (Abe from Austin Deck Company). All coordinated extremely well with the Botanical team. All in all we are VERY satisfied with Botanical and will go to them for any future needs. Over the course of the build there were a few hiccups due to weather and our changes but we were flexible on timing. Most importantly Annie & the team were committed to doing a fantastic job. Again, they are not inexpensive but if quality is important to you then give them a call. We feel the price was very fair considering other bids, our experience, and the team’s final results. I have a huge smile on my face every time I come home now. My yard is stunning! Botanical Concerns completely transformed our rocky, steep site into a beautiful landscape. They are true artists! The modern design with metal, stone and concrete perfectly matches our house and vision while keeping the natural areas. The selection of plants is perfect; interesting yuccas, beautiful flowering bushes and softly waving grasses all blend together for an interesting diverse scene. Working with Annie and Rachael from the beginning design stages to completion has been smooth and easy. Their team is top notch! I highly recommend them!

Outstanding! Transformed a mess of a front yard into a magazine cover worthy oasis. People stop me at the mailbox or driveway to compliment the yard and ask who we used. Wonderful and talented team!

This is the second major project that Botanical Concerns has done for us. This job was particularly challenging due to the slope and contour of the lot. Annie and her crew did a fantastic job with all aspects of the project. From concept, to plan, to installation it all went smoothly. Over abundant spring rains brought challenges, but also the new plantings benefited from nature's watering. The end result is really beautiful and we will enjoy for years to come.

We consulted with Annie a few times in fall of 2015 as we were moving into our new house (new for us). She had a plan drawn up and it was fantastic! It was exactly as we wanted and discussed. She made a few tweaks and one or two items changed along the process, all for the better. Her choices are superior. The project was a pool and backyard landscaping.....major landscaping. Major dig. She recommended the pool company and worked well with them. The pool company was also fabulous. The project was a hair longer then expected due to some rains. She communicated everything to us well and we had no surprises. All of the choices in plants, metal work, stone, etc. were truly wonderful. They stayed within budget. One major thing about Botanical Gardens. The people they employ are true, hardworking, artists. The masons, the construction people, the machine operators, the metal artist were all fabulous, fun, intelligent, loving, caring fantastic people. We were so blessed to have these people work on our project. They like working for this company and many have for quite a long time. That is a true sign of a good company and fine employer. Annie and Rachel are both artists as well.

Annie and Rachel are outstanding. We met and walked the property. I provided my goals for the project and they brought back a landscape design that was just what I wanted for the property. They next had a crew had their own construction and installation team complete the project. The entire team was professional and diligent with completing the job with complete satisfaction. I was very impressed and highly recommend.

Annie and Rachael did an outstanding job with our new home and a full landscaping plan. I have built many homes and this is is the first one I did a full landscaping plan and installation from the start. I am so glad I did and was extremely pleased with their professionalism and talents. I can't praise them enough.

Botanical Concerns landscaped our backyard last year. We have a dry creek running across our backyard that flows only after heavy rains, but this caused our backyard to be intermittently muddy for weeks at a time. Annie & Rachael designed a new dry creek bed with a rock bottom and large boulders along the edge. The plantings and rock work are beautiful and very natural looking. The new creek bed keeps the water flowing and no more muddy yard after it rains. Annie & Rachael were very fun to work with, but they're also very professional. We couldn't be happier with the results. The project also came in under budget, by about 10% less than the original proposed cost. I've never had someone give me an initial bid and then tell me at the end that it would actually cost less than the original proposal. Nice surprise!

We requested a Japanese inspired garden that would thrive in our Austin soil and climate. Botanical Concerns took our completely nondescript slopping backyard and created our dream garden! This creative design and professional landscape building team are top professionals in their field! Natural local boulders and limestone were brought in to create shelves for soil to plant flowering trees, maples, and other “Japanese inspired” central Texas native and adapted plants. A grassy area for our future grand children’s play was created and connected by a pathway of naturalistic stone steppers and boulders to a contemporary circular black aggregate steel banded area. What amazes us is that the boulder work is so well done. It is as if the boulders were original to the property. Attention to every detail was taken. Our Japanese Hill Country garden can be enjoyed from multiple sitting areas and levels that were designed for us. These outdoor living spaces have added so much value and enjoyment to our property. As we walk through the garden, each view surpasses the next. It’s hard to decide which we like best. A dry creek bed with river rock was created to direct water drainage away from the house on one side of the property. We love the way this black Mexican river rock with weeping yaupons and viburnums on its bank hug this steel banded black aggregate sitting area. A special shelf for an antique looking pagoda and lacy leaf Japanese maple was created so it can be viewed and enjoyed from our living room and master bedroom as well. Probably one of our favorite views though is the white aggregate sitting area off of our covered patio with its Japanese water feature surrounded with bamboo muhly grass and lorapetalum. The bamboo muhly grass adds a very soft texture to the peaceful sight and sound the water feature creates. Thank you Botanical Concerns for making our dream come true. We love your entire team!

We had such a great experience with Botanical Concerns and could not recommend them more highly. Annie and her staff, especially Rachel, were professional and a joy to work with. Annie is a great communicator. We felt all our questions and concerns were addressed with the utmost respect and understanding. More importantly, this project was on budget and on time. During this housing boom in Austin TX, this is definitely a rarity. We have received many compliments on our landscaping from friends and neighbors and are so pleased we choose Botanical Concerns to make this happen. We have used Botanical Concerns for 2 major outdoor projects at our house: a front entrance remodel and a complete redo of our backyard. Annie and here crew are outstanding. We have found Annie's design ideas to be well thought out, highly functional, and ecstatically beautiful. She is easy to work with on the design stage and listened to our ideas while providing her our input and recommendations. She uses a crew that is her own on her jobs and they are excellent. The crew are hard working, meticulous, and go the extra mile. For example, when we did our backyard my wife was very concerned about a few plants wanting to make sure they survived the remodel. The crew moved the plants, staked them, and would hand water them during the project to make sure they were healthy. Botanical Concerns is not a low-budget outfit but the work pricing has been fair and the results speak for themselves. Highly recommended.
