This involved all aspects of design and construction - and subsequent maintenance. It is something of an understatement to say that we were and have remained delighted with the result. An essential part of that abiding delight derives from Omar's remarkable, and to us surprising and unexpected, artistic vision about the job,. The result owes relatively little to our input, and what we have, what we enjoy, we overwhelming owe to his very creative artistic understanding and sensibility. Importantly, however, when we did disagree with him he discussed the issues with us in a good-spirited and respectful manner and, when we resolved on a clear decision, acceded to that in good will. “Jim Roberts was our contact with Black Diamond for our project which consisted of (1)replacing a poured concrete front walkway that had two steps with pavers on an incline with no steps (this avoids people tripping on the steps at night) ; (2) creating a parking space next to the driveway with pavers; and (3) creating extra patio space using pavers around the back yard pool out of a grass area. Jim provided a nice presentation and competitive estimate and provided valuable creative input that steered us towards good choices of pavers and a great outcome. I was very nervous about the second part of the project (see above) because virtually all of our house utilities (gas, electric, telephone, cable, water line and drain line) all were directly through the area to be paved. Also, two massive tree root systems running through the area had to be hand removed due to being directly over the utilities. Jim and Black Diamond served up a truly outstanding crew that pulled it off without cutting any of the utility lines. Jim had good follow through and represented his company professionally and he would be our first call should we need paver services again. In summary, this was one of our best ever contracting outcomes and give due credit to Jim for that result. Chuck Clark”

Their work is high quality with attention to detail, they are timely, efficient and professional and went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right from researching the right materials to pulling permits and being up to date on current regulations. First we hired them to do our floor installation in our new home then we just kept bringing them back. To date now they have done our floors, our bathroom tiling, they finished the mudding in our garage, laid an epoxy floor in our garage, built us a fireplace and did a HUGE renovation of our backyard complete with installed electrical and gas lines, pavers, retaining walls with full french drains, an epic staircase and a waterfall. Juan and his crew are kind, communicative and so respectful. Even my neighbors have commented that they are kind and polite. As a woman, I find it particularly hard to find a contractor that will treat me with the same respect as my husband and these guys are wonderful. The work they have done is just beautiful, craftsman work and we will continue to hire them and recommend them for years to come.”

Entire process from design to excavation to completion for our $100,000+ project was less than 9 months (design changes/plans and the city approvals took the longest time--probably 5-6 months.) Overall--very happy and highly recommend!”
