“Firstly, Don is a complete and utter gentleman, with real respect for the opinions and peccadilloes of the people he's working for. We had a rather hideous concrete patio, basement level - pretty much just a grey slab with walls on all sides. It had the potential to be a great space, but we needed someone to help us get it done. I knew what i wanted, and drew up rudimentary plans. Don made some great suggestions to a)make it cheaper and b) make it more proportionally desirable, and he was spot on. He brought over a number of travertine and slate samples for me to look at, and was very accommodating with my fussy color desires! His team works like a well-oiled machine - they completed our new outdoor courtyard in less than 2 days! We absolutely love the space, and are SO happy with his work - he's a real craftsman, everything is so meticulously laid, and the hedges are perfect. Really can't recommend him more highly!”

“In 2014 my wife and I searched out a new landscape contractor for deck demolition, paver patio construction and backyard landscape design / implementation. Our former experience for front yard landscape design (a larger, local landscape company) was a complete disaster of missed deadlines and project manager ineptitude, all at the cost of a way overpriced project. I found Garret Metzger (Bladerunners Services LLC) online and took a second chance for our backyard and have never looked back. Garrett takes the time to plan things accordingly, and doesn't hesitate to take on last minute customer changes. He works within budget, discusses possible issues to reduce future sticker shock, and routinely inspects the work throughout its various phases to make sure things are completed properly. He works with UniLock pavers and maintains a good relationship with both his supplier as well as those performing the work. Our experience has resulted in on-time work completion, very reasonable and rational pricing, and a next-door neighbor who now enjoys sitting and viewing our patio from their yard possibly more than we do sitting on ours. I now routinely refer Garrett to my professional clients.”

“Anne & her team designed and installed front-yard landscaping for us, including adding a stone walkway. The shrubs & trees in our yard were overgrown and the house looked dated. The other landscapers we considered offered plans that followed the shape & design ideas of the existing landscaping. They essentially proposed pulling the old shrubs and replacing them with new ones of the same or a similar type. And the plants suggested we ones that are widely available at Lowes or Home Depot. In contrast, Anne pointed out specific reasons that the landscaping looked dated and uninviting, and proposed ways to fix it. She used primarily native plants, but many I'd never seen, so the plantings stand out among our neighbors. The plants are colorful year-round and low-maintence. She was able to locate a specific type of tree we'd requested (one we'd had & loved at our last house); the other two landscapers told us that they could not find any specimens. On top of all that, Anne's pricing was ultimately comparable to the other proposals we received. We receive compliments all the time & cannot recommend Anne highly enough.”
