Creative Concepts Landscaping

Kevin of Creative Concepts recently completed a landscape project for me and I couldn't be more happy. He quoted a price on what I asked for and then worked with me to then minimize the cost and maximize the end result. The weather was not that great during the work but these guys turned up regardless and worked a full day, every day. We were impressed and our neighbours were impressed. VERY HAPPY.

I met and was impressed with Kevin and his partner (Creative Concepts Landscaping) workmanship while they were extending my neighbour's backyard patio. I knew at that point I would be hiring him to do mine. So said, so done ... Kevin was hired to do our backyard patio extension in December 2015. Kevin and his partner were punctual, professional as well as friendly, provided daily progress updates, hard-working and kept the work area neat and tidy. The story begins when our neighbour "gifted" us a jackhammer. Thus our driveway project began and, much to my chagrin, lasted for months. With that being said, breaking up the pre-existing driveway and discarding the cement into bins was the easy part. I was quite resigned to having a gravel driveway for the next five years. A chance encounter with Kevin of Creative Concepts changed that. Within 1 hour of our initial meeting, in a landscape store, he was over at our house surveying the "gravel pit". That evening, we were e-mailed a detailed estimate and time frame of when the job could be started and the length it would take to complete. I thought it had been written "in stone" because Kevin was true to his word. Our driveway is a masterpiece and my interactions with Kevin was enjoyable. He cares deeply about his work and the end product. Kevin has great pride in his work and it shows. If you meet him and decide not to use him, engage him in conversation - he is dynamic.

We hired Creative Concepts Landscaping from the Pro-Listing on Houzz in order to update our woefully out of date backyard. It had a rotting wooden deck, ugly concrete slabs and a sloping lawn. Kevin, owner/operator of Creative Concepts Landscaping envisioned a new functional and modern backyard which he brought to life, working tirelessly with his team to complete the project. The few problems that did come up were dealt with quickly and without incident. Our backyard is now a lovely living space. Creative Concepts removed an old rotting landscaping patio and designed, built a new one level concrete patio with L.E.D. lights in it and it looks fabulous. The project came in on budget which was done by a pretty accurate estimate by Kevin. Creative Concepts were professional, courteous, respectful and punctual. They also did a second project which was a dry river bed in between my neighbors house and mine. It has quite a slope to it and again we are extremely happy with their work. I highly recommend Creative Concepts for your landscaping needs.

We had an old brick patio that was falling apart and small. Kevin and his crew removed the old patio and redesigned and made it larger using paving stones. We were pleased in the time taken to do the job and professional approach of the team. We had neighbour's and friends like the work that was done and four of them had Creative Concepts do work for them.

I had 2 contractors come and do a quote on a 3 color lattice Stone paver pad measuring 16' x 20' to tie in our 2 opposing decks. One was a friend's recommendation, and then other was Creative Concepts (CCL) whose card I received by chance by a 3rd party. I had never met them before and had no recommendations so was really just using him for comparison. Here were the differences: Friends Recommendation - was fairly negative about our plans, didn't like the curved areas - tried to simplify our plans, change to simple, large 4' pavers in 2 colors - wanted us to change the rounded deck to make the pavers easier - gave us a few names of places to go to look at stones - wrote their quote on a piece of paper CCL - instantly got the look we were trying to go for, very supportive - made numerous great suggestions around color matching - made smart suggestions around putting in 2 runners around the outside - suggested digging a trench with gravel at the back for power washing into - provided key insight into preparations we needed on our decks - gave us 6 large design books with examples and pavers (left them with us) - provided a detailed sheet showing inventory costs and his profit While CCL's quote was a bit higher, it was complete and we felt far more confident there wouldn't be surprises. There wasn't, and the cost was exactly what he quoted. Other notes: - arrived on the date he said, completed on the date he said - stayed until the job was done - his team was happy, loved working with him. Really enjoyed their company - his confidence in execution was reassuring, never concerned about the most complicated parts - the job was extremely precise - his team, without asking, spread extra gravel and leveled it over a walkway area. We were ecstatic as it was much needed and looked so much better. Kevin, owner of CCL, is a very Type A, big picture, detail oriented and friendly person. He's not in it to get as much as he can out of you. He wants to make an honest days work and not only be proud of what he does, but have people be blown away at the amazing work that he does. I would recommend Kevin and CCL without hesitation for jobs you know you want or jobs you need help designing for.

I knew Kevin from the work he did with landscaping design and hardscaping. My wife and I had started a project of getting rid of the spackled ceilings covering the majority of our townhouse. After determining that this was more than we could do, I asked Kevin if he would be interested in completing the job. He and Paul not only completed the project, but did a fantastic job in tying it all together. We would highly recommend Kevin and his crew and would not hesitate him to hire them again.

The project consisted of a new deck with a staircase leading up to it from our backyard and with planter beds on two sides of the structure. The deck is about 1.2m high, 5m wide and 3m deep. The walls are built out of pisa stone concrete blocks with the matching caps and the deck surface is made out of concrete flag stone. The deck inside was filled with Styrofoam blocks to reduce the weight of the structure and to minimize potential settling. Kevin from Creative Concepts was a great help during the planing phase and the construction phase. He was respectful with our wishes and taste but also provided his professional input on product matching and constructibility. He was responsive to adjustments on the fly and also consulted us when needed before proceeding with uncertainties in the construction. He stuck to the quote he provided at the beginning of the project and did not ask for extras when things did not go as smooth as expected. The work was done professionally and we appreciate his German trained skills and the lived attitude of "Do it once, do it right". His knowledge and craftsmanship will lead any reasonable project to a success. We enjoy our new deck and we strongly recommend his services for your next project!

My wife and I hired creative concepts to create a patio at our front entrance of our home. They did an amazing job. They helped us design the patio as well as helped pick the patio stones that would work best for our application. We hired them on another occasion to landscape our backyard. No regrets!
