We had three landscaping companies bid for our project (backyard pool addition + front of house re-do). Ian was clearly the most forthcoming in explaining all the challenges and where we'd have to put more attention. Curbz was neither the most or least expensive option, but they clearly communicated better and were the best at identifying the challenges and bringing several solutions to each. We did not regret our choice! We have some many friends complimenting us on the fabulous work done by the Curbz team (including a herringbone red brick patio which took a week to lay...). We've recommended Curbz many times! Absolute great craftsmanship!

The entire process was very transparent and clear. Once the work started (that was the only slight issue was the timing to get started, but that was largely of delays with the designer) the workers arrived everyday, worked hard and were very careful and responsive in their work. I could see the care they took with the work, each block checked for it to be level. We made a number of change through the project and the budget was quickly updated and there were no meaningful delays as a result of these changes even though they were made midway. I would highly recommend them to others (and have!).

The Curbz team completely renovated our parking pad into a fantastic, family friendly space where we can entertain, play, and still park! They really understood what we wanted even when we couldn’t fully articulate our ideas. The staff, which includes an incredible designer, project manager, and crew supported us from start to finish. They were friendly and courteous, and left the work space safe and tidy throughout the project. Beyond this, they were great communicators - always transparent and accurate. They veered only slightly off the quoted timeline and budget, which in a pandemic-stricken industry was such a wonderful outcome. We had an extremely positive experience with Curbz and will definitely hire them again when another project comes up.

Working with Ian and his team was nothing short of great. Ian was very communicative since the beginning and his crew was here everyday from 8am-4pm. They kept us updated along the way and always asked for our input before starting any aspect of the job. Ian also recommended a great designer to help us bring our vision to life. In addition he referred us to multiple companies to source out a custom shed, sauna and garden beds. I would highly recommend Curbz to anyone. I had originally met with Curbz and really felt they understood my project expectations from the start. They did let me know there was a waitlist, but once we got going I was assigned to Spencer as foreman who kept me in touch with what the schedule would be. There were some delays along the way, but being informed as to what was happening I never felt out of the loop. It was amazing to watch the project unfold as I had truly underestimated the level of expertise and attention to detail required The end result is superb and I have received so many compliments!. Excellent service and attention to my needs. I had a swimspa installed with landscaping. There were a few hiccups with delivery of the swim spa but curbz was always there to help and make adjustments to the construction schedule even with the unexpected delays. They responded to emails and text quickly. Very professional team. From the design of the landscaping to the completion of the project- excellent. Thank you Ian, Devon and Adam. If there's one thing that we will take away from this whole experience it would have to be the people from Curbz. My family and I are very grateful for each person that had a hand in making our space feel more like a home. Our front and backyard is beautiful, it is functional, and my wife and I could not be more proud to come home everyday. The kids also love making a mess in the back...what else can we ask for?

Curbz Landscaping was a great company to work with on our landscaping and we would highly recommend them because of their experience, attention to detail and responsiveness. They were the first company to provide us with a quote, even before others even responded. The designer did a fantastic job of listening to us and pulled our vague ideas together to create exactly what we were looking for. When the initial plans came back above our initial budget, Ian offered different options to meet different budget thresholds and once the plan was decided, there were no additional surprises on that budget. The team working on the job was extremely professional, providing daily updates and ensuring that the job site was cleaned up everyday. The foreman, Jimmy, even stayed late on the last day to ensure everything looked perfect. Working with Curbz was straightforward and really easy.

Curbz did our backyard a few years ago and we absolutely loved their team and the work that they did. We recently needed some repairs done within their warranty and once again they went above and beyond. They did more than I think they had to, are extremely hardworking and professional and made our yard look like the day it was first done. Highly recommend!

Relatively large project was well executed after some delay but completely undermined by zero after sales service despite repeated requests (many many repeats). They were relentless in seeking prompt payment which is ok but needed to be reciprocated with follow-up on the few issues we had. Cannot recommend.

Curbz was excellent to work with. The design was exactly what we wanted with some stuff that we didn't know we wanted until they showed it to us. It looks perfect. The crew was fantastic, I am almost sad to see them go. They looked after every little detail, it all looks great. They ran a clean worksite and even cleaned it up every evening before they left. I have no complaints at all.

We ignored the front yard of our Riverdale home for many years because we focused on time-consuming and expensive interior projects. Finally, our front porch was ready to collapse and the garden area looked like a jungle. We were overwhelmed about how to tackle it, but I had seen curbz lawn signs in the neighbourhood and liked their work so I called them for a consultation. Ian came to see our front yard and listened patiently as we went through a laundry list of design ideas and asked a million questions. He assured us anything was possible and once we settled on a plan, they could execute it. Alex, their in-house designer came to see us next and we worked through various ideas for the porch, hardscaping, and plant layout. Ultimately we settled on a design that included a fairly traditional porch with modern rusted steel planting beds, glazed clay pavers, and simple plants. The curbz staff who worked on our project were excellent: Dave is a craftsman with an eye for detail and Jimmy wrapped up the project to my complete satisfaction. This was an expensive project due to the scope and materials I chose, but I feel it has been built to last a very long time and add tremendous value to our home. In the next few years, the new tree and plants will fill in beautifully. Every time I am outside, passers-by stop and ask me about the project and who I hired. We are very happy with the end result!

Curbz installed artificial turf grass and reworked our backyard after some extensive waterproofing around our home. Ian and his entire team are professionals, and most importantly - great communicators. They proactively managed our expectations around timing, delivery of materials and any unforeseen challenges. They also were able to pivot quickly and accommodate our needs when we added some additional changes. The follow up afterward to ensure that we were happy was excellent, with the crews coming back on a couple of occasions to address some fixes. Would definitely recommend.

Ian and the team at Curbz designed and built an outdoor kitchen with BBQ, fridge and garbage chute. End result is fantastic, looks great, and works very well. Everyone we interacted with from Curbz was great. Such a friendly team of people and the end result is amazing.

Curbz built me a retaining wall to correct a drainage issue and topped it with a really nice privacy fence. The team who worked on the project were outstanding! This is the 3rd time we have worked with Ian Grieve and the Curbz team. We have been very pleased each time. We recently moved from Oakville to Creemore and hired them to plan and redo the entire backyard area. It included project design, planting plan, stone patio with 2 different stones and 3 large connected seating areas, outdoor kitchen with 20 ft+ stone bar, barn beams with Sunbrella retractable cover and barn board feature wall- sink, built in BBQ, fridge and bar fridge, gas fire pit area, outdoor shower, hammock area, gazebo and full landscaping including electrical and outdoor lighting. They showed up and never stopped work until the project was done. The workers were always polite, professional and customer focused. If there was an issue, they were always able to come up with creative solutions and eager to please. The finished product was top notch and was done within budget. We would highly recommend this company.

we dealt with a lot of contractors and were disappointed every time until we found Curbz. We had to redo our gardens ( front and back) after a water main break. Curbz was on time, every time, professional, had great design ideas and extremely courteous. Alicia and Alex, the two amaizing people who worked on our garden were such hard workers and always had a smile. I was so impressed with them that they will always be the one I go to should I ever need anything. We hired Curbz for a large armorstone retaining wall with tricky site access issues in North Toronto. We were very pleased to work with them from start to finish, and very pleased with the final product! Quote was competitive and a bit lower than one of their competitors. However, it was the personable and professional character of the principals of Curbz (who were on site almost every day) that won us over initially, and they did not disappoint. Every step was handled by Curbz with full communication and information so that we felt a part of the team, aware of the status and plan, and ultimately in control on the process. The final product looks great and we are very pleased to recommend them to others. I expect that we will be retaining them for other services as well.

We hired Curbz Landscaping Inc to provide complete landscaping design/build services for our front and rear yard. This followed a 2-year renovation on our home in mid town Toronto during which time our property had become a construction site and was in need of a total landscape makeover - which was a very big job. For both the front and rear yards we hoped to achieve a sophisticated, urban feel with raised garden beds, beautiful natural dry-laid stone retaining walls, stone walkways and landings on different levels, and thoughtfully selected shrubs, trees and plantings for low maintenance (no grass!). The rear yard also included extensive carpentry such as arbors, gates, latticework and wood fencing to enclose a private courtyard oasis. We could not have hired a better contractor than Curbz. They handled everything to our complete satisfaction. The designs they created were perfect for our property and the installation services were exceptional. A crew was at the house working on our project every day until it was 100% completed. Whether they were dry laying stone, or wet laying stone steps in cement, digging trenches for electrical, or creating beautiful arched wooden arbors and gates, they attended to every detail with expertise and efficiency - and with smiles on their faces. They were always intent on doing quality work without cutting corners. Curbz was very knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of landscape design and installation and was therefore able to provide us with excellent advice on many aspects of our project such as selecting materials and plantings, proper grading for our lot, and advice on irrigation and electrical. They also handled all matters with the city with respect to applications and permits. We felt that we received excellent service, superb workmanship, and a quality job from start to finish with Curbz. The budget was adhered to and any extras we requested were thoroughly discussed and priced out beforehand. In addition to doing a terrific job, the people at Curbz are just great people. Everyone is pleasant, knowledgeable, and honest. They are an excellent company. Curbz provided a complete upgrade of our back yard, transforming it from a space where nothing fit and weeds had taken over the lawn to a well-designed space that incorporated all the elements we requested. She created a gorgeous design for the front and back of our house, gave us an estimate, and had her crew implement the design exactly when she said they would do it. Curbz designed and installed a beautiful, functional expansion of our outdoor living space, which included a built in bench and landscaping. They not only completed the work on time and on budget but did so in a courteous, meticulous manner. Real professionals that were a pleasure to work with!

My husband and I hired Curbz landscaping initially to draft designs for front and back landscaping. We were mostly curious and were not sure when or even IF we would proceed with the actual work. However, the designs were affordable, timely and mostly - exactly what we were looking for. A few emails traded back and forth and we had our ideal back yard on paper. We were impressed - and called Ian to discuss timelines/budget etc. We really like that a crew stayed on site for the duration of the project, and that the quality of work/products seemed fantastic. We drove by a few references and were convinced. Ian came by to sign paperwork and the project began the next day. We removed everything existing and asked for a new deck (with built in garbage bin storage) raised patio, new fences, new retaining wall, shed base, sod and plants. The crew was professional, friendly and hardworking. The demolition and garbage was removed quickly and, unless it was raining, Dave and his team were onsite making quick progress. Ian stopped by periodically and made sure all was going according to plan. Weeks later, final inspection by Ian was complete and we had exactly what we hoped, on time, on budget.

I hired Curbz to landscape my front yard. There was a lot work to be done, remove a concrete wall, widen a driveway, build a stone wall and stairs, rebuild a porch and ceiling, install flagstone and support an old brick pillar. All of this and they also had to work around the roots of a 100 year old tree that was removed prior to the work being started. The team from Sylvie who does the drawings to the project lead Dave are amazing to work with and the end results far exceeded my expectations. They really pay attention to every detail and do not take any shortcuts. I feel confident that this work will last for a very long time. This is the second time I've hired them and would hire them again without hesitation.

Ian and his team turned our vision into a reality. We didn't know anyone that had used Curbz before us - we found them on Houzz and liked what we saw from the pictures and decided to bring them in for a quote. We decided to hire them for the job and are happy that we worked with them. They are booked for the next phase of our landscaping project. We have a corner lot. The scope of the work included re-grading of the back/side yard, creating a retaining wall and putting up a new fence. Ian worked closely with us to bring forward some great creative ideas that we actually put into place. Before we made a decision, he explained the reasoning behind his suggestions and identified pros and cons of moving in either of the two directions we were trying to decide between. Each crew showed up on time, as promised, each day and delivered what they had set out to for the day. The project was completed close to the time that we were promised it would. They cleaned up each day and kept us informed of anything that we needed to know. Ian was on-site each morning. What we were promised is what we got in the end! We couldn't be happier and we've already referred them to others. Its only been a short time since we had the work done. I cannot comment on after-service support or follow up. We have not needed to call them back for touch ups or repairs and hope that i) we won't need any and ii) that we will receive good service should the need arise. We look forward to seeing the next phase completed.

We hired Curbz to redo our front stone walkway and also edge our garden bed with stone at the front of our house. Ian is a joy to work with; he is creative, honest, kind and professional. The work was completed on schedule over a 2 day period and looks great! I can't recommend Curbz highly enough. Curbz delivered a delightfully well designed and sturdy backyard deck/retreat for my new urban townhouse. Design was exactly what I envisaged (I am a designer). Design was accurate and without too much fuss. They arrived on time and on budget. They kept their word on every part of the process. I was allowed creative input along the way. They gave me considered and knowledgeable advice on water run-off, materials use and how to save $$$$. Curbz completed our semi-detached midtown Toronto home backyard renovation in the summer of 2014. From our first contact Ian was friendly, professional and accessible. He came by our place 3 times prior to any formal agreements to show us previous pictures of their work, discuss plans and timeline. As promised from our first meeting, he held our start date and delivered a final product in the exact timeline he laid out. All of his staff were very professional and did a fantastic job. We are extremely pleased with the end results and will definitely hire them in the future to complete our side and front yards.

I had a new walkway put in by Ian's team in just three days as promised. Two of them did the entire job working until 7:30 two of three nights to finish on time. There was no rush they just wanted to keep to the time the promised. They were lovely workers and were very professional, friendly, and meticulous in their work. Their attention to detail in executing the plan was tremendous. We’re quite happy with the results.

The work started through several meetings and design tweaks to construction but through tree availability and changes finished with the space we love. Curbz constructed a fairly large retaining wall, re-stoned our porch and pathway and designed our beautiful garden including both lawns in the backyard and front yard. They did an excellent job. Our house looks beautiful and the workmanship was exceptional! I would highly recommend Curbz.

This is the second project that we have worked with Curbz Landscaping Inc. Several years ago, Ian worked with us to design a space in our barren back yard and the transformation was fabulous so we decided to have him help us with our front yard. What draws us to working with Ian is not only his unlimited ideas but his ability to communicate every step of the way. He worked within our budget and when we made changes, as often happens as you go along, he always kept us informed of the cost. We liked the fact that once the crew starts the project they're 'yours' until the job is done and Ian can be reached at all times as decisions are made. His experience with different hardscape materials helped us with our decision making during the design phase and he was able to adjust the design as per the specs of the site thus keeping the design aesthetic. Although Curbz also provides garden/plant design, I chose to finish the planting myself partially to save on costs but also because I love to garden. Since the project has been completed we have had countless people drop by to compliment us on the project-it truly adds curb appeal and the workmanship is 'built' to last.

We hired Curbz to totally redo our backyard (new deck, fences, patio stones, hot tub, pergola, artificial turf, etc.) after reading all the great reviews the company got on the Homestars website and getting a glowing reference from a friend. We can't say enough good things about Ian and his crew. Ian always arrived for meetings with us exactly when he said he would. He and his designer made great suggestions and helped us tweak our original plan to make our yard even better than we hoped. His crew work unbelievably hard and were very respectful of the fact we have young kids around. They always left the job site neat and tidy at the end of the day. They were wonderful in dealing with our neighbours, as well. Ian came by once or twice a day to make sure all was well with the project. The guys were all easygoing about any changes we wanted as the project progressed. I would not hesitate to recommend Ian and his Curbz staff to anyone.
