What is being marketed as "green design" in the construction industry is what Landscape Architects have been doing since 1863. Landscape Architects have always worked responsibly with the environment.
Our choices of design, materials, & method of construction ultimately determines the success of a design. That's why I use 80% native plantings in every one of my designs. They last and look like they belong here, because they do. It's a matter of creating "Place", which is unique to our natural habitat.
"What keeps me coming back, - It's hard work - the thing that keeps me coming back is that you get something right, that you've made this picture that works. I'm healing the native landscape. It fits with what was here before, it fits with the native wildlife, and it fits with the community. I can't think of anything more Florida than that."
