Eco-Greenscape

Do not use this business. The customer service is awful, the lack of oversight is deplorable, the quality of work is bad. I hired David Diaz to do a $25,000 job on my back yard, I got hoodwinked by a slick talker who promised everything and delivered a mess. Here is a short list: I have had 27 plants die, most of them because the drip line had inadequate pressure and no water was going to those plants; some larger plants died because the water was inadequate (it seems all plants given the same water as the succulents). I had 12 succulents die because there was no gopher wire protection as agreed upon. I also lost a tree from inadequate gopher protection. The retaining wall does not retain at one end and the bank has fallen on top of it. The drainage system only works on 2/3’s of the garden, the other third completely flooded in the heavy rains pouring into the fountain and drowning plants; it also stops half way down the drive instead of the normal position at the sidewalk, this despite my at least twice requesting it be extended, David refused. There is a dip in the patio that retains water when it rains. He installed a fountain that was not the one I had OK'd, but one he substituted without my consent, I hated it and forced him to remove it; I then went and purchased a fountain and he installed that one. He then expected me to pay the full price of the fountain I had not wanted and didn't get. He charged me $1500 for the fountain and I paid all but the last $400. I refused to pay that since I had purchased the fountain myself. Because of this he has refused to correct any of the problems, or even respond. This is just a short list, I have plenty more.

Our neighbor used Eco-Greenscape and we liked the outcome, so we decided to hire them to install a front courtyard, drought tolerant plants, drip system and drainage in our yard. They said the project would take four to five weeks and it did. We LOVE the way the project turned out! David designed everything so perfectly. He placed every boulder, olive tree, pot and tiny plant in the best location. His crew did beautiful work on the stucco wall with a rock top and paid attention to every last detail. The custom wooden gate looks amazing. Now people drive by and stop to take pictures of our house. David's design shows he can turn the ordinary into extraordinary! Just today, a couple stopped my husband while he was cleaning the garage and asked for Eco-greenscape's phone number and took more pictures. We gave the last of at least seven business cards to the plumber who was here yesterday. We are very happy customers!

I hired Eco-Greenscape in 2013 to install interlocking pavers in my backyard. As part of the project they designed an underground drainage system. A couple of months later the first rain came and my whole backyard was a huge pool. I called them saying something was wrong with the drainage system, they denied saying it was clogged by leaves, and asked my gardener to remove the leaves more frequently. I was not happy about it, but we decided to let it go since we only get rain in San Diego a couple of days throughout the year. The following year we experienced the same thing. At one point my husband and I were both with containers trying to get rid of the water. This year, AGAIN, the big storm came and I'm right now with about 5 inches of water in my backyard, almost reaching the house, definitely compromising my house's foundation, and I honestly don't know what to do. It's clear to me that Eco-Greenspace did a sloppy job at designing the drainage system, it definitely doesn't support the amount of rain we are getting right now. I spent over $10k in this project... not worth! I don't recommend Eco-Greenscape. Look some other contractor to do your job!!
