“The Edinboro Lake Watershed Association hired J.J. Wurst Landscape Contractor and Garden Center, Inc. to construct a raingarden, vegetated swale, and infiltration trench on the campus of the General McLane High and Middle Schools. These stormwater management features involved significant earthwork and grading, stormwater piping, pedestrian trails, many plantings, groundcover, and lawn restoration. Throughout the project, the contractor was professional and responsive to our questions and concerns. Their crew was hardworking, careful, and courteous. You could tell they were just as concerned with the project outcome as we were, especially with the survival of plants and establishment of lawns. When changes were requested, they provided helpful solutions and were flexible to adapt to our needs. We were particularly impressed with their expertise in furnishing and planting the variety of trees, shrubs, and grasses required. They offered helpful advice for ongoing maintenance as well. We were very pleased with the overall result and we would be happy to work with them again on another project.”

“We had a deck off the back of our house that was in very bad condition. It was a pressure treated deck and the previous owners had painted it. It was just a mangled mess of peeled paint. The other thing that I hated about it was that it was raised and regularly housed raccoon families. My wife and I were in agreement that we needed to do something and we were leaning toward a "trex" style deck. Fortunately I had a brainstorm... what if we had a paver patio installed instead of a deck? I started to research local companies that could design and install paver patios and it was obvious that Marlinski was tops. Upon initial contact Pat quickly visited us to discuss our application. My wife and I are not landscape designers so we were only able to offer very basic ideas about our likes and dislikes. Fortunately Pat Marlinski excels in design. He has a great talent for designing new elements that fit with the existing property. We liked his ideas so much that we also decided to have him install pavers in place of an existing cement sidewalk entry to the house and to install pavers over a cement slab porch on the front of the house. Pavers are not cheap but I really appreciate the lower maintenance vs. wood or laminate decks. We have just emerged from the coldest winter in Western New York history and the paver work that Marlinski did emerged absolutely perfectly! It is beautiful and is perfectly graded to drain storm water. Marlinski's team of landscapers were very professional. They worked quickly but with great skill. They thoroughly cleaned up each day before leaving. Pat mentioned to us that the late date of planting for a number of the new plants might lead to their early demise but he promised that all came with a one year warranty. To his word, Pat Marlinski returned in Spring of 2015 and replaced the several plants that did not survive the summer, fall and brutal winter of the last year.
