We received a referral to Gravel to Gold by our landscape designer, Ornamental Gardens by Lisa. This was to remove the bulk of our front yard landscaping, prune a couple of existing trees, prune a property line hedge, install new irrigation lines, new lighting, and over 100 new plants. We were seeking a more open yard with better water wise plants and lower maintenance requirements. Gravel to Gold fully delivered on their promises throughout the project. They were on time every day, were methodical about their work, and left a clean jobsite at the end of each day. The project took about three weeks to complete, and turned out great. Everyone working on the property was pleasant and accommodating to our needs. There were a few plants and a light fixture that we felt needed to be moved after installation, and they just took care of it without hassle or delay, and with care and positivity. Gravel to Gold is definitely one of the very few contractors that we have worked with over the years that delivers a top level experience. Great communication, clear direction, all the right follow ups, nothing forgotten, and a constant jobsite presence from day one to completion. If you are looking for a landscape contractor that will actually do what they say and give you top level service, then I have no reservations in recommending Gravel to Gold.

Professional, Trusted, Quality and Vision. These are four adjectives that come to my mind before, during and after my recent landscaping project with Gravel to Gold. First, there was an impending concern with the roots of a giant pine tree breaking up my 2,000 sq ft. driveway and coming within inches of the front door. From day one, I had confidence that the project would be executed with the highest of standards. The tree was safely removed in-between a group of large boulders and to my surprise, a gorgeous view was revealed. Then a complete renovation of the landscaping, hardscaping (pathway), rod iron fencing and trashcan storage began. The detail that went into the decisions and planning was impressive. I was given lists and images to respond with my preferences. As an artist, colorful plantings and as well as water-wise guidelines were top on my list for the new plants. Responding to that, they had the brilliant idea to research my artwork and that one of my colorful hummingbird paintings was the inspiration behind the choices. Wow! A flagstone and decomposed granite walkway was creatively placed to lead up into the boulders and a fence was built to conceal the trash area. I was also surprised with thoughtful additions using leftover flagstone. High end lighting was designed and implemented. Every evening, it's a welcoming and beautiful sight. A new irrigation clock was installed for the completely revised landscaping areas. A problem for me in the past, I am now reassured it was corrected. In all, I highly recommend Gravel to Gold for the ingenuity they provided, varied skills, prompt communications and on-time execution.

We hired Anne-Emilie and Steve to design and construct entirely new landscaping for our front yard, and both exceeded our expectations. One of the main reasons we went with a single design and build firm was to make the overall process easy and to work with one contractor through the process. While we were warned several times by friends to expect delays and budget overages, G2G was up front with how they pride themselves on accuracy on timelines and budget, both of which were true upon completion. Most striking was their attentiveness to detail, punctuality, and the sense of urgency the G2G team had throughout the entire project. Our journey began in the design phase with Anne-Emilie who listened attentively to our requests when it came to a garden redesign. We wished to retain certain aspects and materials in the garden while refreshing the area and making it suitable for our family. We bounced ideas over the course of a couple of months and Anne-Emilie was respectful of our budget and constraints. Our project was challenging since it only included our front and side yard, meaning the improved areas needed to blend into the existing yard while hooking into the existing irrigation and drainage system. In the end, she delivered a fantastic set of demolition, planting, lighting, and hardscaping plans that captured exactly what we had in mind. This included hundreds of individual drought-tolerant plantings, grading, drip irrigation, a retaining wall, custom fabrication of a metal fence, path and up-lighting, and mulch. She continually made herself available for questions and advice as we needed it and would respectfully tell us when an ask wouldn't make sense or wasn't the best way to go about it. Steve nearly immediately picked up those plans and began construction on the garden. We had already completed separate construction work with Steve's team for an outdoor shower and paint work on the exterior of our house that was (yet again) above our expectations and felt very comfortable going into the garden work. His team and subcontractors were great to work with, very respectful of our property, and made a complicated project feel easy. His team completed all items ahead of schedule. I truly appreciated Steve's guidance in always thinking about the future and doing things "the right way" versus "the easy way". At no point did I feel that his team were cutting corners - in fact, I felt they were bringing minor items up to me I otherwise wouldn't have noticed. He was up front about the pricing of several add-ons we requested and always had time for my questions about their work or how something functioned. In summary we've had nothing but a positive experience with the G2G team and would wholeheartedly recommend them. We used Gravel to Gold for a complete backyard redesign and remodel. Their attentiveness and willingness to work within our budget throughout the design and contracting process was only outdone by their customer service throughout the remodel: they showed up when they said they would, their staff was friendly and conscientious, and they worked diligently to ensure it was done well. Our project was done on time and within budget - and they continue to answer random questions we have 4 months after completion. We would use them again without hesitation!

Steve Gold and his crew are the absolute best in the business! Steve provided input and artistic guidance on our project from start to finish with wonderful results. Our extensive lawn was removed front and back, which included demolition of some existing hardscape, drainage replacement, landscape regrading and planting with water saving native plants and trees. The plan included a paver path around our house, extensive lighting and installation of a drip irrigation system, which was then covered with a thick coat of mulch. Weeks later plants are getting bigger and everything looks amazing. Steve Gold was a pleasure to work with. He is straight forward, value conscious, knowledgeable, committed to excellence and keeps each phase of the work on schedule. We’re extremely pleased with our new landscaping, irrigation, lighting and yard-appeal upgrades that were designed and installed by Gravel to Gold. The process started a few months ago when I reached out to Gravel to Gold through their website after researching design/build firms. I was particularly drawn to their creativity and technical expertise (as evidenced by their project photos) as well as multiple reviewers’ comments on their attention to detail and clear communication. Their initial questionnaire was very helpful in thinking through the project scope, which primarily involved a complete reimagining of the front yard space as well as a substantial refresh of the back yard. The hardscape was already in place from an earlier remodel, so the new plantings, irrigation and low voltage lighting all needed to coordinate with the existing layout, colors and textures. I also developed a short list of minor projects to fold into the main scope, which ultimately was narrowed down to selecting and installing a new mailbox and garden boxes (for a future herb garden) and covering up unfinished pergola columns with custom-cut Orco blocks (which matches our back walls). Major kudos to Anne-Émilie and her associate Lisa for their deep knowledge of all things plant-related, including their appearance, arrangement, compatibility with existing plantings, water and maintenance considerations, and color coordination of the plant palette with the house façade and hardscape. Anne-Émilie and Lisa were also very hands-on during the plant placement and installation process, thus ensuring a good start for the many new plants. Anne-Émilie also has a designer’s eye for researching and sourcing unique finds, such as the striking modern mailbox and garden boxes that coordinate with our house color. During the installation phase, Steve and his team were very reliable, hard-working (and smart-working) and attentive to all details. In addition to carefully situating the new plants, irrigation system and low voltage lighting, they were able to relocate and reuse existing plants and rocks when appropriate to maintaining the overall design harmony. Steve was very proactive in keeping us apprised of the progress and kept the project on time and on budget with his rapid identification of decisions to be made and explanations of alternatives. I highly recommend Steve and Anne-Émilie for your landscape project needs! I first approached them in summer 2022 with a relatively blank slate of a backyard and a clear budget in mind. While other design-build firms were either unresponsive or had astronomical project minimums, I knew I hit a home run with Steve and Anne-Émilie right off the bat: not long after our initial contact, they sent me a questionnaire to learn about my design aesthetic, my home, my aspirations for the backyard renovation, my budget...in short, they covered all the bases up front, exhibiting an attention to detail that I (a VERY detail-oriented individual) greatly appreciated. Since there was no real rush for me to get this done, the scope of the project took shape during the fall as they spent time familiarizing themselves with the space, drawing up multiple layout options, and ordering items to be installed. We began construction in earnest in November, which all in all was a very smooth process considering it was so near to the holidays. All the sub-contractors were hard-working, knowledgeable, and communicative. As for the budget, Steve was mindful of my limits throughout the process, providing a detailed breakdown of the estimate before we started and staying right on target with it throughout the build (apart from a couple minor changes here and there mid-construction, which he made sure to clear with me first before proceeding). The result of all their hard work was a stunning new outdoor kitchen and improved landscape area that I know I will enjoy for years to come. I am very happy to have worked with such quality professionals as Steve and Anne-Émilie, who clearly take great pride in what they do and are a pleasure to work with. I am looking forward to completing more projects with them down the road as I continue to build out my backyard (need to pause for now to give my wallet a rest). Creative, professional and diligent…. three words that would describe my experience with Gravel to Gold. When I first described my desire for a butterfly garden and huge amounts of color in our landscape, Anne-Emilie not only heard my wishes but created an Eden for us that is serene and stunning. Starting with the extension landscaping and irrigation plan, Anne-Emilie worked with me on every aspect of the plan to insure it would grow into the brilliant mosaic of color, balance, fragrance and harmony that I imagined. Steve and his professional crew executed the plan flawlessly, which included blending and installing hardscape finishes that enhanced and accented the beauty of the lawns, flowers, bushes and trees.
