At Holmes Fine Gardens we are committed to providing beautiful landscapes that protect the diversity of the land and its surroundings. We approach projects from a holistic standpoint, assessing your entire property as well as abutting neighbors' to protect and enhance the natural elements of each property. As stewards of the earth, we strive to use only organic methods where applicable. We work toward sustainable landscapes that are attractive, long-lasting, save water, use less fertilizer to maintain, and are free of potentially dangerous chemicals and substances for the families we serve and the environment we share. Our goal is to maximize a property's value while minimizing its environmental impact. And we don't stop there. Dan Holmes and his team are professional, very educated about landscape design, creative, respectful of our time, polite, honest, and hardworking. They did a big overhaul of our 2 acres by pulling up sod, replacing it with native pollinators, trees, meadows, and boulders. Then they added bulbs for Spring. We are thrilled with the results!

Our property was in pretty bad shape when we contacted Holmes Fine Gardens. Dan and his group worked closely with us to come up with a plan and a schedule that would make it financially viable. The results have exceeded our expectations. Everybody with Holmes is not only professional, but also friendly. They often go above and beyond what is expected. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Holmes Fine Gardens did two big gardens for us and we love how they turned out! The choice of plants was elevated, visually pleasing, and fit our design aesthetic. We love the layout and the flow of the gardens. Holmes Fine Gardens really chose the right plants for the right location and conditions. They even included stones in our landscaping design in the form of a cozy sitting spot and a stone-step walkway. Their staff is very professional and planting quality is top-notch. I would definitely recommend it to our friends.

I had a wide variety of work done on my property which included tree removal, brush clearing including invasive plants and some garden design work. Dan was able to offer me alternative suggestions as to what could be done and them made sure the work was done professionally and on time. My yard has a total new look.

Holmes Fine Gardens has been designing and maintaining our gardens for 15 years at Foxglove Cottage. Dan Holmes and his expert crew of property managers and gardeners started with an ordinary looking piece of woodland property and turned it into a dream-like fantasy that takes our breath away. There is a circular motif which runs throughout the landscaping with with curved stone paths leading to rock gardens, perennial gardens which are loaded with flowering vines, shrubs and garden flowers so that we have blooms from spring to fall every year.. The property is on lakefront and when we first came to iive here, Dan doubled our lakefront footage by clearing away the woods that were blocking our view of the lake and created beautiful continuations of our existing lakefront gardens. Additionally, the crew that work on our property are extremely pleassant, attentive and talented gardeners.

Aside from the superb execution of the plan, Dan is very creative in offering different options. He is enthusiastic about offering you natural and local selections that thrive in our area.
