The Maraj Family: In fall of 2020 we have decided to redesign our front and back yards. We have called a few companies, received quotes and decided to engage Chris at HVL to help us with this project for Spring 2021. While we had some ideas of what we wanted, we immediately knew Chris’ ideas and recommendations would be best for our outdoor space. I love my backyard now! If only i had taken before pictures you would see what miracle workers Chris and his team were. They transformed a long-neglected and overgrown backyard into a beautiful sanctuary. The team is a pleasure to deal with. They came in and did their work quickly, efficiently, and neatly. Their stone and patio work was solid, meticulous and has withstood the test of time, and two tall teenage boys! After the backyard, I asked Chris to come back and do my front yard, which in my opinion, is the best looking front yard on the street now. They have managed to make a typical narrow North Toronto home, look stately. i would strongly recommend them.

We hired Humber Valley Landscaping in the late summer of 2013. Right off the bat, seeing Chris and his teams work from previous projects we knew they had the design style, attention to detail and quality that my wife and I were envisioning for our custom outdoor space. This was our first major investment project we've done for our home. We were a bit nervous but we had done our research in regards to cost and we knew what we were looking for in terms of quality and craftsmanship. Chris (Owner) was great to work with, he did the most important thing you can do for any customer ... he listened and with that he followed up with insightful realistic advice that met our needs and our budget, creative suggestions and ultimately painted a clear vision for our outdoor space. He gave us a clear, itemized project quote without no hidden fees. His team is top notch, they worked through the hot humidity, blazing sun and even in the rain to insure they reached their suggested timeline. They cleaned up every night to make sure the job site was always tidy so not to create any dangers for our family or neighbours. At the end, my wife and I were blown away with the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Right down to the suggested plants, as he had a dedicated "Plant Guy" help us choose tree's, and perrenials that would thrive in our outdoor space. After the project was completed, Chris made a point to walk us through every detail and give us a post-mordem of the challenges and specific things his team needed to do to make sure the project came out perfect. Example, the extra gravel they needed to bring in, so that our backyard stone work would be perfectly level; being a corner unit. Overall it was worth the investment, our family has an amazing extra outdoor space and we know it has increased our homes curb appeal and value. We now hold a lot of outdoor parties and family gatherings. Well worth the investment and HVL made the entire process painless and absolutely enjoyable. If I can sum up three words to best describe HVL, Craftsmanship, Transparency and Trustworthiness. We will definitely hire Chris and his team for our future landscaping projects. Humber Valley Landscaping was hired to deliver on landscape plans drawn up by Jodie Munshaw ( landscapedesignsbyjodie.ca ) The work involved excavation and removal of overgrown existing plants, stone masonry, carpentry (porch pillars), concrete forms, beds and planting as well as electrical (outdoor low voltage system). The quote was competitive and detailed. The crew built the proper infrastructure and base for the stonemasonry then showed more attention to detail with the hand cut Ontario stone. The addition of plantings, new porch pillars and lighting finished a great job. The results are stunning! We were so pleased, we hired HVL the following year, for the backyard and experienced the same thoughtful creative workmanship. The end result has brought hours of relaxation and joy. For both jobs, each day, the job site was cleaned up, the crew put in full days, everyday, and worked with safety and professionalism. The street remained safe and there was minimal disruption for our neighbours. We have no hesitation in recommending Chris Ray and HVL.

HIRE THIS COMPANY! As a first-time homeowner (and thus, the first time with a yard of my own), I won the lottery when Chris Ray came on board. This man and his team are all about providing tremendous integrity and professionalism, vast creativity, and seriously gorgeous results. During the project, severe challanges arose due to poorly-built aspects of the property. Chris and his team came to the rescue working very hard to correct the builder's errors, and now all is functioning perfectly. As for the visual: there is no doubt I have the most stunning yard in my Leaside neighbourhood, and I dare say it can hold it's own against anything Lawrence Park, Forest Hill, or Moore Park can show off. Humber Valley provided hardscape (interlocking of driveway and walkway) and softscape (landscaping of the front yard) services for our family. They were reliable, hardworking and detail oriented. Humber Valley has completed several backyard projects for us over the past two years.
