Partnering with Larkspur Design was a "dream come true"...honestly! Since we moved into our house over 23 years ago, I always wanted to install a perennial garden on the side of our house (my "dream" garden). I did a lot of research on small, local businesses and came across Larkspur Design. Their design philosophy of integrating sustainability, biodiversity and beauty, while tailoring gardens to meet customer's "wishes" was a great match for me. We partnered together on the design & selection of plants (I learned a lot about plants that our ecologically friendly!) and I couldn't be more thrilled with how the garden turned out. It's a beautiful extension of our sanctuary. Seana was an absolute delight to partner with - kind, professional, knowledgeable, responsive and caring. My husband and I contacted Larkspur Design in the winter of 2018. We wanted to landscape our yard to create privacy and a lush, lived in feel. Larkspur responded right away to set up the initial appointment to view our space and talk about our ideas. Seana created a comprehensive plan that took our outdoor space and our ideas into account. I loved that she offered native plants whenever possible. We offered edits and changes; all our ideas were responded to quickly and, when feasible, incorporated into our final plan. Implementation of the plan was seamless and easy; Seana’s team asked questions for clarification if needed and responded to our questions knowledgeably. We received instructions on watering and care of the plants. Any questions that we’ve had after the implementation of the plan were responded to quickly and thoughtfully. We’ve had many, many compliments on our yard. We look forward to working with Larkspur Design again on other landscape projects!

My wife and I wanted to improve the aesthetics of our Deering Center yard and provide natural food sources for birds and small animals, but were finding the process overwhelming. We did a little research and reached out to Larkspur because of their eco-conscious approach and focus on native species. Seana and her team came up with an appealing plan for the entire property, which we plan to tackle in sections, beginning with the back yard since it is the largest space and where we spend most of our time. Seana was extremely helpful - asking questions to establish our tastes and overall goals and then providing thoughtful, pleasing designs and suggestions for perennials and shrubs that will do well in this area and our yard specifically. We ended up using a hybrid approach, where Seana and her crew did some of the work and we did some, and she was very patient and informative regarding area preparation and proper planting. The end result has exceeded our expectations, and has made the space much more appealing and enjoyable for entertaining, and has provided valuable habitat for bees, butterflies, birds, and even several species of frogs. Seana and her crew were truly pleasant to work with, and we happily recommend Larkspur.

I hired Larkspur for a design plan only. My priorities were quality design and planting natives. I am choosing to do the install myself over a few season and Seanna and her team were great about that. They were enthusiastic about my small project and I have been using their design plan to implement my vision of my new woodland garden. I had an idea of how I wanted to feel in my garden and they listened to me. I am only a few months in--and after the driest summer in a long time--I am finding much success in my first season. Choosing plants that want to be here is integral in my success and Seanna knows which varieties to choose. FYI: The questions they ask at the outset really help connect client to designer.

We had a new home site and looked for someone that was aligned with our desire for utilizing only native plants, no grass and organic practices. Larkspur not only listened closely to what we wanted to achieve, they were genuinely excited to get to work on a design. They delivered an amazing plan that we could implement over time, just what we were looking for! We built a home on a 0.8 acre lot in Brunswick so we had a "clean slate". I wanted an all-native, no lawn landscape. Design was by First Light Wildlife Habitat and then Seana tweaked this for me. Then she and her crew did the installation. I really enjoyed working with Seana and her capable and pleasant crew and appreciated the fact that they did not use power equipment. Seana was always readily available to answer questions and give advice and the yard looks wonderful!

This company is very professional, reliable, and lovely to work with. I was impressed by the efficient and expert way they tackled my overgrown garden. They went to special lengths to discover what I had in mind and to incorporate my own plants. I recommend them heartily.

Seana and her crew completely transformed my gardens! We've been fighting a noxious weed (Bishop's weed) since we moved her, and Seana's recommendation was to smother it completely and start fresh. While it was a drastic move, it totally made sense. Her crew worked tirelessly and expertly to remove existing unhealthy plantings and to cover and mulch the gardens. We could not be more pleased with the work! Seana's team conducted themselves so professionally, it was a pleasure working with them. We have lived in our field-meets-forest setting for twenty years and have extensive foundation gardens and perimeter plantings. For years we have taken care of it ourselves but our daughter was getting married in our yard and we needed help sprucing up the gardens for the wedding! Seana and her crew breathed new life into the gardens without making them look new. They rearranged, added and removed plants, cleaned up overgrown bushes, and artfully added new front garden bushes and annuals throughout. The plant selections completely fit our goal of a mature, native Maine feel. The color, placement and structure of plant material is pleasing from any window of my home in any season. I love the movement of grasses, the addition of a sweet little tree and the variety of textures through the seasons. Larkspur also solved a wet spot problem by designing and installing a natural stone walkway that gives quiet presence to what was previously a utility looking space. This past summer my garden was healthier than it has been in years and full of bees! Seana and her crew are knowledgeable, professional and creative. We are so happy to have found these Garden Elves and highly recommend Larkspur!

The Larkspur team did a fabulous job designing and installing my new garden. At my request, they made it idiot-proof! Seana listened to what I wanted, and gave me choices that fit my needs. I would definitely recommend Larkspur.

I had just had a home built and was in need of landscaping. I got in touch with Seana at Larkspur Design and she came over to look at the yard and hardscaping I had in place. She took measurements and came up with a design for my space. I built in a development and wanted some plantings that offered some privacy as well as covered a retaining wall. I loved her design and hired her to do the work! She came with a team of professionals and they prepped the beds, planted, fertilized, mulched, inserted stepping stones, etc. They took care of the whole project and it looks amazing! I have received so many compliments from my neighbors on how beautiful it is. As a matter of fact, three of my neighbors have already hired her to do work and I have given out her card to two more - that speaks to the quality of their work! I have been very pleased with everything Larkspur Design has done - from the initial meeting to the design and installation. I would strongly recommend this company.
