We had a great experience working with Lifescape on a full front and backyard project for our home in Los Altos (we worked with a landscape designer outside of Lifescape to come up with the design). We got a few bids and while Lifescape was not the lowest price, we thought their presentation and knowledge of materials / design, previous projects and expertise would be best to realize our vision and we are very happy with the end result. The design included grading, irrigation, pouring cement and installing pavers in multiple areas to accommodate a shed and pergola, dedicated space for planters, lighting, and fruit trees / plants. We now regret that we didn’t also do our pool with them for an end-to-end experience. Once engaged on the project Lifescape worked diligently with the crew coming out every day to complete work and they responded quickly to our feedback, such as re-mocking up our entry stepping stairs and lighting when we realized we didn’t like the landscape design on paper. Jose was very involved in the day-to-day work managing the crew and Jeff gave us valuable pointers on materials, design and showrooms to check out. The one challenge which other reviews mentioned here, was it took a few months of back and forth after the project was done to get replacements in for the plants that had died. Finally they did replace the plants though as promised.

Their price is not the most competitive. We chose them because of the nice pictures in their brochure and the many positive reviews here. Their workmanship and warranty are questionable. I have a water fountain with metal edging around it, but the workers did not have a proper method for forming the edging into a perfect circle. They simply bent the metal and eyeballed the shape. The result was not to my liking. Some of the plants and trees died after installation. It took several months and countless reminders before they eventually replaced them. One of the replacement trees still did not survive. I requested another replacement, but they have been unresponsive since.

I have worked with Lifescapes for years, recommending them to install the designs I work with my clients to create. Lifescapes is knowledgeable in each standard phase of a landscape installation and I can trust that they will deliver a high standard of quality. They have good attention to detail and make great recommendations throughout a project to both designers and owners in order to abide by the original design intent and attain the best result possible. I would not hesitate to use them in my own home landscape improvement projects, so it is easy for me to recommend them to my clients for theirs.

I cannot say enough good things about Jeff and his team! They completely transformed our backyard into an absolute oasis. We decided to take on a major project, including adding a swimming pool, a BBQ island, an electric fireplace, and a variety of fruit trees. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. Our property is on a slope with some challenging aspects to creating livable and functional space. Jeff & his crew problem-solved this and did a fantastic job creating gorgeous flat gathering spots. Lifescape did a great job of helping us completely redo our backyard. They began the work almost before we were done designing it so there was a lot of back and forth help which was most appreciated. The workers were great - friendly, respectful, and did a great job even as sometimes parameters changed. The foreman managed the project well and was responsive to questions and changes. We now have a lovely backyard - new grass, plantings, new patio pavers and we love it! They do a great job of maintaining our yard weekly as well. They'll do a great job for you, too!

Jeff and his team were amazing during the remodel of our house in Willow Glen. They did both the front yard and backyard, as well as a pool remodel for us in collaboration with G&J Pools. Everyone who comes to the house takes photos as inspiration as future ideas for when they might pursue a remodel, and that really says it all! I would fully recommend Jeff and his team for any landscaping remodel you are planning.
