Alex is a certified arborist who really knows his stuff. He was able to tell me the type of tree that was uprooted in my yard; what had caused it to topple over (a fungal root disease) and also point out the damage it had caused to adjacent trees with dangling limbs. He removed the tree that had fallen over, ground down the stump of the toppled tree to prevent the fungal rot from coming back & removed the dangerously dangling limbs from the adjacent tree, all at a very competitive price. None of the other tree service professionals that gave me estimates came close to his quality of work. I have since hired him to trim several other trees in my yard plus attend to the health of a large cork tree with beautiful results. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

We moved to the Oakland Hills a few years ago and became aware of Llamas Tree Service from our neighbor across the street who used them regularly. I originally got bids from other companies, but Alex was very competitive and I liked him the best. We've had them trim and shape various trees and to reduce a large fir tree encroaching into our view and to reduce the height of multiple oak trees in our lower yard. Recently I brought 5 different neighbors together on our street to combine our resources and have Llamas take down a large Eucalyptus tree below our street. The tree was blocking some of our views and was quickly on it's way to blocking others. Neigbors next to the tree were terrified that limbs would sheer when the winds picked up. There were quite a few people to bring together and coordinate, including neighbors closer to the huge tree on the street below. My fear was that something could go wrong! Llamas did a fantastic job and kept everyone happy each day by keeping things organized and tidy. Everybody was impressed seeing them up high bringing this tree down carefully and safely. I would recommend them to anyone needing tree work in areas they service - and will use them myself again soon.

We are very happy with the work Llamas Tree Service performed at our house. We had a 40 foot palm tree that we wanted taken down to the stump. And two big pines that were in danger of splitting apart. The team removed the palm, and secured the pines with thin cables, that are not easily seen. We also had a redwood that had died, and we had an estimate a few months ago from Llamas. We contracted them to do the work on the recent bid, and Alex included the bid on the redwood done previously, for free. Alex was prompt, more than fair, and extremely professional. The work was done in half a day by his crew, and we were so impressed with their skill. We would highly recommend this team, and would contract them again.

Sunol Firesafe Coalition has engaged Alex and his team on numerous fire fuel reduction, dead/dying tree removal and brush clearing projects over the past year, most recently in August, 2015. They consistently give us great service at a great price. Llamas Tree Service has worked at over 2 dozen different homes and properties in Sunol for us and tackled some very challenging assignments, especially on branch and tree removals. If you've ever seen the tall, crazy oaks in Sunol, you'll know what I mean! We met Alex in an emergency tree situation. He did a great job and we have used him and his company frequently over the past few years. He and his men are knowledgeable and very respectful. The do an excellent job with the trees and all the people involved, property owners, neighbors, tenants. They also have very fair pricing for all they do and when you are working with trees, you really needs a person who knows how to take care of them properly, Llamas is a great company.

After a very large tree limb fell on my house I contacted several companies for estimates to remove the limb and trim the tree. Of the three companies that came to look at the job I picked Llamas Tree service. They were able to do the job that week, they were professional, bonded, customer oriented, and provided a performance to cost ratio that was outstanding. I really appreciated the way they cleaned up around the yard every night before they left and when the job was completed. I highly recommend this company for any tree trimming needs. The entire job was done quickly and on our schedule and finished on time which allowed me to schedule the other roof repairs that were needed.

Alex responded to a last minute request to evaluate, trim and stabilize a large catalpa tree in our backyard. He was punctual, polite and easy to work with. His crew's work was excellent and efficient and resulted in a much safer and more beautiful tree.
