We highly recommend Manzanita! We wanted a lush, backyard oasis, yet low maintenance and drought-tolerant, with a water feature. Sounds like a tall order, right? Well Heather created a beautiful, professional design that checked every box! They charge for the design up front and it's worth every penny. It's extremely detailed, and tailored to your budget. Then you have the option of having them install it, or not. We chose to have them do the installation as well and we're so happy with the results. Heather's husband Tim oversaw a crew of super-hardworking men that never stopped until the job was done. Their team showed up every day, on time, and worked tirelessly like a well-oiled machine. The results are incredible! We have butterflies, honey bees, hummingbirds, and songbirds, it's truly magical. My husband and I work from home, outdoors in our garden oasis, everyday. We are thrilled with Heather's vision and Tim's implementation, and highly recommend them to anyone!

We are very happy with the final result of our revamped backyard. It was a big undertaking and the slope of our yard was challenging. It went from a dirt pit to a beautiful multi level outdoor living space. Heather and her team did a great job of designing a perfect and usable space for us. We used Manzanita Landscape Construction 10 years ago for our backyard landscape project. We liked our backyard transformation so much that we decided to use them again for our front yard remodel which was completed this spring. Heather and team are great to work with and really helped us create a pleasing front yard. Tim and the crew did a wonderful job with the installation. After planting, we experienced an unexpected freeze. They came back and monitored the plants to see if they were still viable. One plant had to be replaced which they did in April. We have received many compliments from the neighbors too! For a professional job, we highly recommend using Manzanita Landscape Construction.

Manzanita recently replaced our entire front yard; we are thrilled and so pleased with the entire experience. We decided to replace our 20-year-old tired and bland shrubs and lawn; we made a conscious decision to have it professionally designed and installed. I was done with do-it-yourself attempts to improve the curb appeal I don’t know what plants are best for my “zone,” sunlight or climate patterns, or which “go” together….we wanted drought tolerant, lower maintenance plants but didn’t want it to look like a big litterbox! So, we contacted Manzanita after a referral from a friend. Faith came out and explained the whole process. I really liked that they could do everything in-house. The next step was design: DON’T LET THIS PHASE SCARE YOU OFF! It is well worth it! The fee to do the design work is for their expertise, creating a detailed plan, and time for revisions—all things I don’t have. And, even if we walked away the design was done and we owned it. I gave Heather a color palette as my inspiration and she nailed it with her design. They really take the time to understand what you want—and they will fine tune until you are happy with the look. They are also good at educating you on options so you manage your expectations or alter your original ideas to get a better outcome. They also will work with your budget. We actually ended up spending less than we planned, and the final cost was below the estimate. Installation took about a week; the crew was prompt, organized, coordinated, and quick. Tim (contractor) worked with us when problem-solving irrigation or electrical raceways….he was very conscientious of hiding any unsightly plumbing or electrical work. But more impressive was how they leave the job site every day. They cleaned the entire yard each day and left no safety hazards. They provided written and verbal care instructions for the first few weeks and responded quickly to additional questions. And they are VERY responsive in addressing issues right away: when stepping stones were not quite in the location we wanted, they promptly moved them and re-planted plants; if sprinkler output wasn’t quite right, they came back out right away to adjust it; a couple plants looked like they were dying…they promptly replaced them. We also asked to install one portion later in the season to take advantage of rain. They accommodated that request no problem! BOTTOM LINE: if you are considering doing ANY improvements to your landscaping, want to reduce your water use, or are ready for a make-over, call Manzanita! The entire team was friendly, professional, responsive, flexible….a real joy to work with. Our yard seems more like a garden that we enjoy tending – we can’t stop staring at it! But the true measure is the number of people we catch staring at it as they pass by, or the unsolicited compliments from strangers. We certainly plan on using them for ongoing needs or to improve other areas if needed. Call them – you won’t be disappointed.

When we me with Faith, the lead person on designing our project, we had no idea of what we wanted. We did know what we wanted, only what we didn't want - no thirsty plants, cactus, bark, or any additional trees, (we have two). She assured us that she could work with that. We have stamped concrete in the back and she tied the new work into it beautifully. A variety of rocks, flag stone and drought tolerate plants completed the the spaces. They put in a new retaining block wall with colors that brought in colors of the landscape, complimenting the entire space. They made special areas to highlight structural pieces we had, and will be getting. Started with a very rocky ground and ended with a beautiful landscape. They presented a plan that included a large paved area and lots of blooming plants, which was what I wanted. They were here on time everyday and always cleaned up . Would highly recommend you give them a call.

I needed low-water landscaping in my front yard (and drip irrigation), and a small (~600 sq. ft.) lawn in the back. Manzanita did a great job of designing the layout and provided me with a scale conceptual plan which we refined to arrive at the final plan. Their workers came out and cleaned up all sorts of debris, prepared the soil, and installed the plants and irrigation quickly and efficiently. Everything was neat and clean when they were done, and it only took three days for the whole project from start to finish! It looks beautiful now, but I'm looking forward to the spring when everything will grow and bloom even more. Manzanita provided great support before, during, and after the installation. I would recommend them highly!
