Matt is a fantastic guy to work with. Extremely knowledgeable about rock geology, artistic placement of specimens, and a great eye for landscape design. We really look forward to working with him again as we continue our yard transformation.

We have a difficult property with significant landscape slopes down into a valley and again dropping to the water's edge. After we built a detached garage, we needed to add fill to protect the new garage foundation and wanted a decorative natural retaining wall, to the extent possible. Matt delivered an exceptional outcome. His knowledge and ability exceeded all expectations.

As all of Matt’s other reviews have said, he quite frankly is the best of the best! If you have the opportunity to work with him, DO IT! There isn’t one negative comment I could say about working with him. We had him completely transform our lakeshore, and a big portion of our yard to the most amazing, kick ass beach and patio area. He incorporated beautiful stone slabs, rocks and boulders, garden areas and the biggest, badass fire pit you can imagine. He finished towards the end of fall, and we can not wait to be out there all summer. He is very knowledgeable about materials, and what would look best where. We trusted him completely, and let him run with his vision in how he saw the space evolve. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, and we look forward to having him complete future projects for us. Matthew Wieneke replaced a broken cement walkway to my home. I really appreciated his suggestions and guidance in choosing a stone for the job that would be both beautiful and functional. Matt is a pleasure to work with. He's particularly good at design with his creative approach and his wealth of knowledge of materials, the importance of water, and plants. I am never disappointed after a project with Matt.

I have used Mr. Wieneke for 2 different projects now. First project was a paver front walk that had a lot of decorative shape. It exceeded our expectations. The second project was in the back of our house, which included a walking path, grilling area, large limestone stepping stone that are stairs to our lower walkout basement area and a lower path. Varying size field stones were incorporated also. I have be nothing but happy with his work, the artistic touches he does on design and layout. We will be using Mr. Wieneke for the next phase of our landscaping project.

I sought him out because I had both seen his work and heard him speak. He warned me in advance that the cost might be high and that I might have to wait, given my wish list. Both were true and both were worth it. He not only did a superb job building my bluestone patio in back, but recommended a small change in my front yard that makes a huge difference. The ancient rocks he installed to delineate my flower beds are conversation pieces in themselves, not to mention that the colors of the flowers are enhanced by the rocks as well. He even built a home for my gnome using stone and tree bark. It is the centerpiece of my backyard and makes me smile every time I walk out there. So charming. I keep coming up with new jobs for him because he is so talented.

There is not enough room here to write all of the great things about Matt and his work! Matt recently completed American Bank Square behind our business in Downtown Beaver Dam. During the entire process he was very detailed oriented, worked hard to ensure that the final product met our expectations (or in this case exceeded them) and was flexible in completing work when we needed it done. The other thing we appreciated about Matt being a detail oriented individual is that all of the materials and labor used in the creation of our park was locally sourced - something that is important to us being a big part of the community! If you are looking for any landscaping projects to be completed we would recommend Matt hands down!
