About Us
Since ancient times, stone and brick have been defining elements of architecture proven to last generations. In the right hands, stone and brick's versatility can enhance the look of any scale or style project. Whether you strive for a focal point, or an accent, Old Goat Masonry will work with you to design an enduring and beautiful addition to your property. We use local materials whenever possible to tie modern and historic buildings alike to the natural landscape.
While the finished product is important, time and the elements will accelerate degradation without adequate preparation. Old Goat Masonry adheres to a high standard of precision craftsmanship thoroughly and thoughtfully preparing the foundation beneath each project. Attention to detail results in a high quality product that stands the test of time, and defines the difference between installation and craftsmanship.
Alfred Dedam working as Old Goat Masonry addresses all aspects of residential masonry. "I strive to do the best job possible out of respect for the trade and its traditions. I exhaustively study all aspects of masonry, from architectural stone cutting to commercial wall systems. I feel that a more thorough understanding of the trade's past results in a clearer understanding, and more thoughtful execution of today's practices. Continuing education is a priority for me, each year I commit to no less than 10 hours of classroom time in workshops and seminars. My goal for the 2015 season is a certification with the Masonry Heater Association, enabling me to build functional, efficient and beautiful masonry heaters.
My team and sustainable growth. The past few years have treated my business well, resulting in me needing to expand my workforce. I am very fortunate to have two hard working, intelligent and deliberate young men working with me. Their ability for self direction and solid work ethics free me up for the administrative duties that come with growth. Another exciting addition to my business is the purchase of a 2014 Caterpillar 303.5E CR compact excavator. This piece of equipment has enabled me to work with larger format stones, and allows for more economical site preparation and clean up. As my business moves forward, I pledge to err on the side of integrity. Maintaining a smaller crew allows me to maintain the quality of work that I wish to stake my name on. "

We contacted Alfred of Old Goat Masonry on the recommendation of another home professional. We needed help in transforming a tired ineffective fireplace to a beautifully designed stone hearth for a future wood stove.
Alfred is serious about his craft - he is both artistic and pragmatic and this perfect balance of attributes can be hard to find in a creative soul. From design to execution, Alfred demonstrated a passion for quality workmanship and pleasing visuals that produced top notch results at a fair price. It is obvious that this man truly cares about what he does for a living, and for his customers.
With his quiet and deliberate demeanor, Alfred seems to effortlessly produce works of art that started with a vision and translated into perfected work that both he and the homeowner can be proud of. Nothing was ever a problem. His work is flawless and his delivery is exactly as promised. We are extremely satisfied with every aspect of this transaction with Old Goat Masonry.
It was somehow easy to trust Alfred from start to finish and he delivered without question, meeting our expectations and even keeping a loose promise to squeeze us in between bigger jobs before winter set it. We are so appreciative of his honesty and candor.
We would not hesitate to recommend the expertise of Old Goat Masonry and we plan on calling upon their services once again for other stone and masonry projects as they arise.
