RJ Lawn & Landscape

We had RJ redo our backyard and pool area about 10 years ago and while this was one of their first stone projects they did a reasonable job. Fortunately, at the time they had a very good landscape architect, Paul, working for them although he is now gone. We came up with a plan together and as I have some experience from working with my wife's family business in what is now a fourth generation landscaping company in Cleveland, Ohio. This was, as I was told, their largest project to date and was about $50,000.00 at the time. Unfortunately the plan was not followed exactly as their employees could not read drawings but instead of tearing things apart we agreed to accept the incorrectly built stairs. These failed after a few years and they did repair them at no charge. They used pictures of our backyard in their advertising, and still do, including a picture on the their trucks and website. About 2 years ago I asked about redoing the polymeric sand as it was failing in many places and relevelling areas that had moved over the years, as expected after the time that had passed, and I could never get them to even look at the job much less provide an estimate. This turned out to be about a $10,000.00 project that they could not be bothered with. They kept saying they would but I finally gave up after 2 years and had Wright Landscaping do the job. They came out and provided an estimate within a week of my call and finished the job, on schedule, in 2 days. So, be very careful. If you need continuing support from a contractor you will not get it here.
