From the start of our development project 2 years ago, Jen Baker has been very professional, responsive to our needs and a strong resource for us as we established design criteria followed by complete installation of a series of prairie meadows and retention pond landscaping in our project. We subsequently have hired her for “invasive species reviews” required by the Town. In this role, she has initiated the periodic reviews and followed up effectively in every aspect of the responsibility. She is an important part of our development team and receives my high recommendation.

Our experience with Jennifer has been exceptional. Our project involves landscaping a new home site, returning most areas to natural prairie along with putting a detailed finish on areas near and around the house. Jennifer is very knowledgeable about every aspect of the process including planning, soil quality, details for erosion prevention and planting from start to finish. She is exactly what we needed, as we are novices at this. She has a positive, can-do, professional approach sprinkled with a great sense of humor. We are very impressed with her prompt communication and follow through. Cost for each step of the process has been fair and clearly explained. We plan to continue working with Jen into the future. We give her our highest recommendation without any reservation.

We hired Jennifer Baker, Sparrow Landscaping, to plant approximately 100-acres of native wetlands in the Tomah, WI area. Jennifer was responsible for seed/shrub/tree procurement, plant layout/installation and plant monitoring.
Because our project was approved late in the year, procurement of our required plants was a challenge due to local shortages. Jennifer went out of her way to call mid-west wide to get our required seed mixtures and personally went to the suppliers to physically pickup the seed to accelerate our schedule.
To say the on-site conditions were brutal for wetland planting is an understatement; Jennifer and her team had to battle super saturated soils, snow, bitter cold and short working hours. Jennifer never lost faith in getting our project done by steadily motivating her team and kept everything moving forward.
Jennifer has excellent communication skills, very organized, super knowledgeable in her industry and an absolute joy to work with. We highly recommend her services!

We 1st worked with Jennifer to coordinate our woodland restoration with removal of invasive plants and planting of native plants and trees. We also worked with her to design and install transitional beds from our wooded area to our lawn area. We enjoyed working with her. She is very easy to work with and very knowledgeable on invasive species and native Wisconsin plants. We will be continuing to work with her on controlling our invasive species and enhancing our woodland area. Not only was her planning phase excellent, her exquisition was also excellent.

Sparrow did a fantastic job designing and creating new prairie out of scraggly grass. Jen was great to work with keeping me informed with each step she performed. Her expertise with native plants is second to none. I'd highly recommend her!

Jennifer Baker of Sparrow Land Planning displayed outstanding management, outstanding involvement and outstanding commitment in transforming our mound system into a native prairie meadow. We especially enjoy all the bird, butterfly and dragonfly activity that has evolved from her design plan!

Sparrow Landscaping recently completed a design/build project at our lake house in central Wisconsin, and we could not be happier with the results. The project included adding stone patios, a meandering pathway, native trees, shrubs, flowers beds and ground cover. It was quite an undertaking, but everything was completed as promised, on time and on budget! We love it ALL and we are already starting to plan a Phase 2 garden project with Sparrow next Spring. I highly recommend this company. 10/10.

We built a new home on a 2 acre lot adjacent to a conservancy and wanted to keep approximately 1 acre in native prairie grass and flowers. Jennifer Baker of Sparrow Landscaping visited and proposed a plan which would blend with the conservancy. She also suggested building 2 swales and running rain water into these swales to alleviate the problem of standing water in our yard. One of the swales has standing water almost always, and in this one Jennifer is planting bur reed and common rush. In the other she is planting fox sedge, blue iris, ironweed and aster. This turned a real problem in our yard into a very attractive asset. It is a 3 year project with the first year being mainly elimination of the existing perennial cover and site preparation. Then comes the planting and maintenance. Our contract with Sparrow Landscaping covers 3 years. I feel that Sparrow Landscaping has done an exceptional job of listening to what we want, suggesting various alternatives and educating us on which of the prairie grasses and flowers would thrive on our soil and what types of wildlife they will attract. I wholeheartedly recommend Sparrow Landscaping.

My wife and I really enjoyed working with Jennifer. She did exactly what we asked for, but added her own expertise and knowledge to our landscape plan. The end result is more than we had hoped for, and we are really looking forward to watch her plan unfold as things grow over the next several years!
I would not hesitate using her services again!!!!

I started working with Jennifer this spring. She contacted me to produce CAD drawings from her hand-drawn designs. She always provides me with clear and concise drawings and descriptions. She is one of the most knowledgeable and creative native plant designers I know. Her designs are comprehensive, appealing and sustainable. She always addresses water runoff and retention, provides valuable habitat for wildlife and creates a beautiful and aesthetic native landscape for the client.

Jen designed and installed an extensive native plant landscape at our lake home. The project included hardscape elements such as stairs, stone patio and firepit and boardwalk to the lake. We are very pleased with the design, plant selection and installation process. She provided excellent information and support throughout.

Commented: where did you get the metal corners for the boxes from?Looks like you added screws to the bracket...was this fairly easy to do? I ask because I want to recommend this product for a do-it-yourself article on raised bed gardening.
