Swick's has recently taken on the landscaping and hardscaping duties of our huge 32 acre townhouse complex. The quality of work, the attention to detail, suggestions and open dialogue we have with Ron and his team is marvelous. The before and after photos speak for themselves. The garden only one year later looks amazing. The staff who did the installation were polite and proficient.

Overbilled almost triple for time. Employees claimed to work time that was totally dishonest and owner refused to admit error. One version of their story was employee was not aware of their ‘high standards’, but this does not account for falsely charging time not worked. After numerous attempts to resolve, got no response. Never will do business again with this company.

Ron Swick and his team have done significant hardscaping and landscaping projects on my property over the past few years. Recently, they complete a re-landscaping of my front yard and back patio that involved a dozen trees, dozens of bushes and even more perennials. Ron's team coordinated everything, including the irrigation system, lighting and installation of a gas fire pit. I didn't have to worry about the trades, inspectors or any project details. Ron worked very closely with my landscape architect and once the plans were signed off, he took care of it all! Following-up on a professional recommendation from BC Plant Health Care, a very reputable arborist company in Vancouver who has serviced our property for many years, we met with Ron Swick who promptly visited us and immediately helped us with a number of challenges we were facing. After 20 years in our Tsawwassen home, we decided to enjoy our retirement years by up-grading our front and back yards. We required assistance in dealing with a very large and weakening cedar hedge which ran along the back of our property. We also had a similar problem with another cedar hedge in our front. Earlier discussions with gardeners proved futile as they were limited to solving the problem with new plantings. Conversely, dealing with outfits that specialize in fencing, walls and patios had no idea of planning a functional and attractive space. Ron immediately understood the challenge, appreciated our parameters and was delightfully pleasant and informative to talk to. So much so, we refused to let him go as we encouraged him to stay a little longer over some cake and coffee. We immediately knew that we could work well together and being on a budget, we decided to forego spending money on renderings, drawings and plans. We liked all of Ron’s ideas and developed complete trust in his expertise. We agreed to remove the cedar hedging and old fence; build the required 5”x5” timber support wall to deal with the grade of our property; and build a quality, heavy duty board and baton fence along the back garden. Once we had the estimate for this work, we decided to also remove the side fences and build new ones with lattice on the other two sides of our property. All posts were 5”x5” and instead of post caps Ron suggested an impressive 2”x8” top rail running the full perimeter of our new fence. Together with posts three feet deep into the ground and each with four bags of concrete, we know for sure this lovely structure will remain in place long after we are gone! The work had to be scheduled around the weather, but Ron and his crew were incredible. A few really wet days were cancelled the day before, based on the forecast, but otherwise, his crew was on site for a total of 12 days from 8am sharp and stayed still till after 6pm in order to complete the day’s scheduled work. The crew worked quickly and efficiently and the quality of the carpentry was very impressive. No short-cuts were taken on anything, the detail was incredible and the site was always cleaned up and ready for the next morning. We had five neighbours to deal with and in each case, we had promised them we would accommodate them as best we could. From matching some face panels to constructing temporary fencing to keep in a small dog, the crew did an amazing job of being courteous and satisfying our neighbours without in any way disrupting the work which had to be done. As soon as the fence was complete, drainage stones and earth were brought in to level the grade. Shrubs were moved to new areas and 21 yew trees were planted. Ron coordinated the necessary modification of our sprinkler system and the required border material and decorative stones were securely and neatly put into place around the yew hedge at the front of the house. The above work was phase one of the work we plan to do. With the wonderful work done by Swick’s, we look forward to replacing and extending our patio which will also entail the final landscaping of the back yard. It was such a pleasure working with Ron, we now also hope to tackle the whole section along our driveway at some future date. The greatest pleasure in dealing with Ron is his knowledge, the excellent communication with his crew and the incredible hard working, loyal and skilled crew who were genuinely dedicated and accommodating young men. There was never an issue or a problem and anything requested was remembered and completed as promised. We have dealt with major renovation work over the years, but never have we had more competent and nicer people to deal with. We've used Swick's for a number of years for our lawn and garden needs for our single family property in Vancouver, BC. They have provided a very reliable and professional service from the early Spring lawn aeration, lime, fertilizing, planting for summer flowers, through to the Fall clean up and bulb planting for the next Spring. The staff are very tidy and agreeable, and show up on a consistent basis. The fees are comparable with other firms and we have negotiated an annual charge broken down into 10 monthly payments. We would not hesitate to recommend Swick's.

Swicks has been our weekly landscaper for aprox 3 years. They don't only maintain our yard / garden in the summer - but they also hang up our Xmas lights and shovel our driveway in the winter. We have them year round. This year we decided to make our backyard "child friendly" for our son. Swick presented us with a proposal / quote. Final bill was as proposed. We had some technical difficulties with one of the materials; Ron was on site and worked with us to resolve the problem. There weren't any additional charges due to these problems. We are thrilled with how it turned out. Most importantly we were very pleased with everyone that works with Swicks. They are polite and easy to work with. My son looked forward to seeing them every day. They would take the time to say Good morning / Hello and they even allowed him to sit in the Bobcat, which he still talks about till this day. Swicks is a family oriented company with integrity!! Would highly recommend.
