We absolutely love our garden. We didn’t give too much direction to Trace but just told her what sort of plants we liked and didn’t like. When it was done it felt as though she had read my mind. I feel so happy every time I walk outside. I love English gardens with happy mixtures of colors that seem unplanned and organic. Highest recommendation!

Given the recent drought restrictions Trace Robinson has been redesigning our lawn dominant and water guzzling garden to a more drought tolerant environment. We are very pleased with the outcome from both a water usage standpoint and an aesthetic one. Trace has been a delight to work with. Very patient and helpful in guiding us through the project.

Trace and her team designed and built some hardscape and landscaping for our Santa Barbara house including front entryway stairs, backyard gravel stairs, a gravel French patio, a hedge and various plants and trees. They designed and installed the yard and fruit tree irrigation system which is working flawlessly. Trace is a creative and experienced designer and has an experienced team of builders and gardeners.

We started out with dirt and crabgrass and because of Trace Robinson won a Santa Barbara Beautiful Award! I had only a sketchy concept of what I wanted but Trace somehow intuited my aesthetic needs and created a space for us that my husband , myself and our rabbit enjoy everyday. Her creativity is equaled by her positive attitude and work ethic. We are so lucky to have found Trace.

My husband and I highly recommend Trace Robinson Landscape Design. Trace worked with us on the landscape plan for our 1925 Spanish Colonial home. The home needed a complete renovation and the yard had been neglected, so was a "clean slate". Trace put together a binder filled with photos of plants that she recommended for the garden. She also drew up a detailed landscape plan with suggested plantings to complement the home. Citrus trees were planted to the rear of the house and close to the kitchen for access. King palms and tree ferns were placed in a way to provide texture and add to the lush feel of the landscape. Lavender and many other drought tolerant plants were also used in the yard. Trace felt that fragrance would add to the overall enjoyment of the garden and then suggested plants that now bring wonderful scents to the yard. She also helped to design a beautiful rose garden in our rear yard. Over time, the plants have matured and transformed the yard into a beautiful environment. Trace was creative and very helpful, She worked easily with any of the other people that we had on the project. It was a great experience working with her.

A year ago we hired Trace and her Company to design and create our front yard from scratch, it was just dirt, ready to be turned into a garden of our dreams. She listened to our ideas and came up with a plan that was implemented to our delight, as well as, many of our neighbors! From Trace's design and plant selection to her son Frank's installation of irrigation and hardscape everything turned out wonderful and delights us to this day.

We have provided plants for Trace Robinson Landscape for many years. In the course of our business, we see many landscapers each week and certainly some are more impressive than others. Trace Robinson has always been one of these. She comes to the nursery personally to select the plants so that she gets only the best for her clients. Her knowledge of plants and their cultural needs is extensive. We have also had the opportunity to see many of her completed projects and have been impressed with the final results. The interests of her clients and the appropriateness of the job she does are the most important parts of her work. She is one of the best.

I have worked with Trace and her team for over 15 years to design my landscapes, select plants, install both soft and hard-scales, and now maintain my garden. She has helped me create beautiful spaces in three different homes and always keeps costs at reasonable levels. Her team is knowledgable about all aspects of the garden, from flowers, succulents lawn, water-saving strategies and fruit trees. Her employees/sub-contractors are talented, respectful and friendly. Trace has also created beautiful arrangements for special occasions for me - she has a great sense of floral design.
