I highly recommend West Hills Masonry because the customer service was excellent, the price was reasonable, and the finished product was beautiful. I had received a quote from another company a few months ago to install pavers on my front walkway and porch, but it was too high so I decided to wait. I’m so glad I waited and found West Hills Masonry on Yelp. Carlos responded promptly on Yelp and set up an appointment. He brought a catalog of pavers and made suggestions. Because his estimate was lower than the previous company, I also asked for an estimate to do the driveway at the same time. We were so happy with the estimate that we decided to add the driveway to the project. In order to decide the color of pavers Carlos had 6 different pavers from two companies delivered to our house. We also drove by homes where he had installed pavers so we could see how they looked on a larger scale. The projects we saw were beautiful and further convinced us that we had made the right choice. The installation was two weeks later. During this time he promptly answered all questions by texting or calling. He even answered texts after hours and on Sunday! He is very responsive and easy to work with. The demolition and installation was amazingly quick. Carlos estimated 7 days or less to complete the demolition of existing concrete, to prep the area, and to install 1000 square feet of pavers. Because he added more workers, the project took only 3 days. At the end of day 2 we had a complete driveway and front walkway. Only a small area on the side of our house was left for day 3. The crew led by Angel was hardworking and polite. They worked rapidly and did a neat job. It was amazing how much they accomplished in just 2 days. Neighbors driving by complimented us on how beautiful it looked and asked for the name of the company which we happily recommended.

West Hills did my backyard remodel and overall did a great job! I got multiple proposals and West Hills was very competitive, but more importantly the most professional and comprehensive. We did pavers, drainage, retaining walls, and artifical turf. The communication was good throughout the process AND they finished ahead of schedule. I will use them again for my front yard!

Had a fantastic experience with Carlos (both of them...you'll figure it out) and West Hills Masonry. Our house needed a lot of work in the back. There was an unsightly brick platform and an odd fountain from previous owners. I wanted it all gone and replaced with pavers or cement. I took at least 4-5 quotes. The thing that set Carlos apart is that he communicated really well, handled himself professionally, and followed up in a non-pushy way. I've done quite a bit of remodeling over the last year and worked with a variety of contractors for different jobs, both small and large. What I've come to realize is that communication is critical. Too many contractors are awful communicators and can't stick to their proposed schedule. Even with this project, I had a few contractors promise me a quote within a few days and either never heard back or didn't get a quote for several weeks. Not Carlos and West Hills. They were on it from beginning to end and the back patio looks fantastic. I was super impressed. I'd happily refer West Hills to any friends or family and wish all my contractors went about their business like they did. Thanks!

We had such a great experience with West Hills. We did a front yard transformation and they were professional and speedy with the highest quality work. Our driveway was re-done with 6x6 Cameron stone and they also took out our front porch area which is quite large and replaced it with extended steps down to the sidewalk - also topped with Cameron stone in tumbled and added a stone bench to sit on and lighting in the steps and under the bench. They also put dry stack Beach Blend stone on our home as an accent to tie in the stone on our new walkway and driveway.

This was our first experience with a major renovation. We found Carlos to be easy-going when he came to our property for the initial quote. We had a general concept of what we wanted at that time, but did not have every detail planned out from beginning to the end, so we found his recommendations helpful as we presented our ideas. Carlos was responsive throughout the project via messaging to address my questions and concerns and was able to accommodate a few changes to the initial plan. Our project was expected to take three weeks, but they were able to finish in about 4 weeks of work, excluding time off for the holidays and a few days of inclement weather. The on-site crew was easy to work with, as I would inquire about the daily plan before they started their work and discuss any concerns I had regarding the previous day's work. They were good about tidying up on a daily basis. They did fix a few things I had concerns with, but overall their workmanship was excellent. We are extremely pleased with the final outcome and plan to use them again for future projects.

When researching our front yard remodel project, we spoke with several contractors. Many were unprofessional, late to the appointment, and if we even heard back from them at all, gave us very vague, non-detailed quotes. Our experience with West Hills Masonry, specifically owner Carlos G. and project manager Carlos V., was completely different. Their communication throughout the whole process was professional, prompt and detailed. Carlos G. was super helpful in guiding us in our stone and paver selections, and even had samples delivered so we could compare colors and sizes. He worked with us in trimming back certain aspects of our project to stay within our budget, and was very patient with us in the process. He kept us informed during every step of the project, texting, sending pictures, etc. The crew was on time, left the job site clean, and were very accommodating with changes we requested during the project. We recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a contractor with GREAT communication skills, professionalism, and quality workmanship.

We wanted to work with an experienced company because we were first time home buyers and needed help navigating HOA and city regulations and/or processes. Lastly, we wanted to work with a company that communicates well because communication is key to the success of any large project. With all these in mind, West Hills Masonry was the one, I felt, best met my requirements. One of the best parts of going with West Hills Masonry was that they provided a 3D rendering of what our backyard would look like. This gave us confidence with how the backyard would turn out because it’s difficult to make decisions with just our imagination. Once the project started, our backyard transformed in about 6 weeks. West Hills Masonry has transformed our back yard from a wasteland that became a lake every time it rained, to a beautiful, functional space that we'll be able to enjoy for years to come. From the start, we've had good communication via group text between Carlos Gonzales, Carlos Vaszquez, my husband and me. The crew completed the project in a timely manner with only a few days delay because of rain. We were actually glad it rained so we could test out the drains. They work perfectly. West Hills Masonry review Working with West Hills Masonry has been a pleasure from the beginning planning stages through the finishing touches. Shout out to Carlos and Angel for doing great work on-site, dealing with a few last minute adjustments, following through on my requests to get things done a certain way, and all the workers who exhibited overall high quality workmanship. For example, on day 1 of the project I decided I’d like the site of a future shed to have an outlet as well as a power source for low voltage landscape lighting. Carlos discussed options with me, ranging from them taking care of the complete installation of the electrical and landscape lighting, to various options involving me doing more of the work, to the degree that I am comfortable. We settled on a very reasonable option that met my goals to keep costs as low as we could. And it might not sound like much, but I appreciated the small things, like that our yard was cleaned up at the end of each day. I had easy access to the project managers via text message, so that I could get status updates and communicate any changes that were needed if something did not seem quite right. They were always flexible and courteous with any change requests I made. Lastly, I wanted to mention that they handled the unexpected hiccups along the way very well. Things that to me seemed complicated and challenging were handled very smoothly, like my AC unit needed to move slightly, or how to create a pleasing transition from existing concrete to the new pavers along a walkway extension that was added in the middle of the project. After getting quotes from several contractors we decided to go with West Hills Masonry for several reasons. Carlos was extremely patient in waiting for us to decide on our material choices. He was also extremely knowledgeable and honest in answering any questions I had in regards to the design. Our project consisted of a stone veneer being put along our plantar wall that was the length of our backyard, replacing the brick cap on the plantar wall with a gray stone cap, and removing a plantar and laying concrete. Up until the completion of the project Carlos was quick to respond to any concerns I had. Everything turned out beautifully and met and exceeded our expectations. We are so happy that decided to go with West Hills Masonry for our backyard project.
