Kiva Lighting

Can't review product as was unable to get customer service (or anybody) to return a call or even an email.

I could not find an area for feedback or reviews on the Kiva website so I'm taking this route. We ordered a beautiful and expensive ceiling fan with a light attachment from this company because they feature western/rustic themes. The fan and light attachment came well packaged with more than enough spare parts. The directions were non-specific and very difficult to follow, i.e. remove the base screws--where are they and how many? Initially the fan parts rubbed on each other and made a lot of noise. We learned to loosed the fan base at the ceiling by turning it a little to reduce the noise. The fan chain switch only works when you pull it directly to the side, consequently, we cannot use the pre-drilled holes in the light which would look a lot better than having it draped over the light to the side. The light chain does drape through the light attachment. The bulbs included in the light package are small and even though they are 60 watts each, the light produced is extremely dim. It truly took us several difficult hours to put up this fan and were VERY frustrated with the instructions--from the very first step as the wiring did not correlate with what was actually in the fan. The fan is very pretty so from the aesthetic perspective, it's good---but to install was very, very difficult. If my husband didn't have any experience or knowledge about electricity and wasn't capable of adapting pieces and parts, the fan would have been sadly returned.

Company sent wrong product and refused to take it back except if I paid a 25% restocking fee. They are dishonest and my credit card company is reversing the charges and making them pay for return shipping as well. BUYERS BEWARE!

First of all, the fixtures are not returable so you are stuck! No one wants to pay a huge restock fee. The fixtures don't hang well and are hard to install. One of them, was expensive and we waited a long time. When it came without any diagrams or instructions we had a very difficult time with it! No more Kiva lighting for us! Terrible Remember these are not cheap fixtures! By the way customer service was rude!

I have a number of Kiva's lighting fixtures in my home and have given many more as gifts. Their service is always prompt, professional, and friendly, and their workmanship is outstanding. As a retired designer myself, I look at products such as these with an exceptionally critical eye. While there are many companies out there selling lighting with Western or Southwestern motifs, most seem to be derivative and in many cases identical in their designs. Kiva's designs are fresh, original and artistic, and the quality of their work is excellent.

I was very impressed with the custom lights from Kiva Lighting—they have lights that you will not find anywhere else. Not only is there a tremendous selection of unique lighting, the quality of craftsmanship is excellent!
