We purchased a chandelier from Lightology that cost over $4000. When the electrician went to put it up, he said the driver was defective. It has been over 2 weeks and the company is yet to send a replacement. They are impossible to get through to. You have to communicate via email. One would think that if you’re buying such an expensive product, they would expedite a replacement driver.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We’ve purchased several light fixtures, one order didn’t arrive. After waiting for over a month I gave lightology a call and found out that it has been delivered few weeks earlier, so it’s too late for me to make a claim! I asked for a proof of delivery, it took them few days to email me back, and delivery address was wrong! I pointed that out and still waiting for their answer. Be aware, their customer service is terrible, they give their customers 72 hours for returns or claims form the day it was delivered, but they don’t let you know about that when you place an order! Very disappointing, I will never buy from them again.

This is with regard to my Order #: 874146. I ordered four light fixtures and one of them arrived damaged. They have no customer service number to call and the only process they have is to submit a damage report and to wait up to 3 business days for a response. Well, I'm on business day 4 and still no response. They have an online chat function and I've chatted daily with 3 different customer service representatives. They all tell me that they will send an email to the folks who handle the damaged items. But I'm still waiting.
Most other reputable companies enable you to simply print out a return label to facilitate the return of damaged items. Lightology doesn't do that, so here I am waiting for someone to get back to me in order to initiate a return and a replacement light fixture.
This is very poor customer service and I regret having purchased these four light fixtures from Lightology. I checked around and these fixtures are available from other reputable companies like Bed Bath and Beyond and Home Depot.

I bought most my lighting fixtures from Lightology in Chicago. One of the bathroom fixture glass case was broken when it arrived. I contacted my sales rep and quickly the parts department person Ally took over the case. They are very professional and responsible. The new glass case arrived coupe of days ago with the perfect condition. HORRIBLE! Bought a light fixture for over $500 and used a licensed electrician to install it. The light fixture never worked. Shipped it back to Lightology for a refund but they refuse to refund it, claiming the electrician did something wrong. He did not. He did a full commercial renovation for us and this is the ONLY product that had any issue. He followed the instructions to a tee and even called Lightology for additional support when it didn't work. I'm livid and out $500. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Their customer service is horrible and they will rob you blind.

Very poor customer service. An antiquated delivery system that never updates. Everytime I order from Lightology, it's longer than expected (even before the pandemic), and the information is never correct. When one does speak, or message in this case, with customer service they get your information completely wrong. Just order your fixture somewhere else.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Dealt with a lady named Alyssa Barton. She quoted us 3 times. First quote given $19,000. The she quoted again because she made a mistake on shipping and it now costed $20,000. Paid for them in full. Then two weeks later sends a email stating she mistakenly misquoted the shipping cost again and says the extra shipping cost is $6,700. Completely rude and would not try and fix the situation or make it up in anyway after they had taken my money. Stated she already was giving us a discount since we were going through a licensed vender. When I asked how she could have made this big of a mistake she stated that she did not know.
Then I called the store and spoke the the chief customer service officer Ray Perez. He stated that they did make a mistake and that they weren’t willing to eat any of the mistake made. Then the gentleman proceeds to tell me that they will take the money I’ve already given them for the specific lights I ordered and find me new ones. I stated I did not want new ones and that I’m extremely upset that I’ve been misquoted 3 times now and I feel that I had a terrible experience with this entire process. He does not offer to help or give a solution but make the situation right. I then offered to split the shipping costs and he tells me that lightology won’t pay for the other half. So I requested a refund and he says well we won’t be able to process the refund right away because we don’t write refund checks so I’ll have to wait. Wait till when?

I experienced the worst customer service ever.
The delivery took 4 weeks from the order date.
However, the lighting was used one that has lots of scratches and the inside packages were opened and dirty.
I requested the return to Lightology right away. They responded after 10 days and didn't proceed the return process even though I provided the pictures of the lighting and all the information for it. I have to call them every time to proceed it. Still I didn't receive the refund for 4 weeks since I asked the return even though Lightoloy received my return package in their facility.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had ordered a pendant in August 2020 and by December had not received order. I contacted Lightology and they told me it had been delivered November 24th and had been signed for as that is the only way they will deliver. I told them that was impossible because no one was at my home during that as my husband and I were in Florida. Upon that discussion Lightology emailed the delivering slip from the trucking company showing a signature of no one I knew. Obviously the pendant was delivered to the wrong address, but Lightology kept standing by the delivery company. Next step I had my husband check our Ring Security camera and it showed no deliveries on the date Lightology claimed delivery. When I called back explaining I had video footage I was promised by "Christian" his manager would call the next day after speaking with delivery company. It has been 6 days and I have had no calls from Lightology. Moral of the story if you expect customer service and for Lightology to look out for their customers you will be disappointed. I can't wait for their written response to this review, because "we are sorry to hear..." will not cut it with me. Buyer beware.

I did have to call and get them to send the tracking number but that wasn't hard at all and Ken Vick LS principal was wonderful and got the info to me in seconds. I'm so glad we bought this lamp from Lightology.

I ordered a light on 09 May that Lightology said was in stock. They delivered part of the order the three smaller lights but not the large pendant ($1200) that comprised the bulk of the order. I called on May 15 and they said it was the manufacturer they had listed it in stock. When I pointed out that I ordered from them and not the manufacturer they said that their stock list only reflects what the manufacturer tells them. I placed the order with Lightology, despite the same lights being available elsewhere specifically because they listed the items in stock and had the quicker quoted delivery estimate. They said the item would now ship on 30 May. When I called today to ask whether the item had shipped they told me it wasn’t available until 22 June so I cancelled the order. I asked for a confirmation of my cancellation via email - not an unreasonable expectation given payment and email control only 39 seconds- I was told by a Wendy in customer service “I can’t discuss refunds on the phone. “ When I didn’t receive an email confirmation within an hour I called back and after getting customer service again I was transferred back to Wendy. She said she needed confirmation from the manufacturer that they would process my refund. I pointed out that while I appreciated they have internal business practices my order and payment were to Lightology and not to their manufacturer at which point she started shouting that she doesn’t have access to my credit card details and that’s not how refunds work and hung up on me. All I wanted at this point was email confirmation of a refund and cancellation of my order. Their customer service is rude and quick to hide behind processes, they don’t take responsibility for their customers and are not transparent in their dealings - avoid at all costs. Now have no order and no refund or confirmation.

DO NOT USE #lightology — They have no follow-up, no follow-through and no customer service to speak of. We’re having issues with an order placed several months ago. The order was “lost” and supposedly re-shipped but still has not arrived to the receiver. We can’t get the reps to call us back or email us with any information. Such a frustrating experience. We’ve been dealing with issues for over a month. We will not be using lightology again.

I'm an interior designer and industry professional who placed thousands of dollars worth of product orders for my clients via Lightology in the last year. To complete a client's Master Bath project, I ordered a set of Sara Double Sconces and a single Sara Sconce, to accompany a prior order, already installed, of the same. When the light fixtures arrived, they were in a satin nickel finish, not a chrome finish as needed. I contacted my sales rep numerous times to remedy the issue and swap the fixtures for the correct finish. Erin dodged my emails and phone calls and finally passed me off to the "customer service" rep. After many repeated attempts at contacting this rep, I was finally advised they would need to process a return on the fixtures in the incorrect finish before they could replace with the correct fixtures. They encouraged me to place a new order for the correct fixtures prior to the return being completed, to expedite the process. In good faith the return/exchange would be processed, I did so - ordering another $2000 in the same product, correct finish.
I had to fight for several weeks to maintain communication, and retrieve return labels for the return fixtures. After many emails to the CS Dept and many unreturned phone calls, I was finally was given the labels and prepared the fixtures in the incorrect finish for return. I returned these fixtures via UPS with tracking.
Two weeks after the fixtures were returned to Lightology, I still had yet to receive a refund for my orig. $2000+ purchase. I, again, called and no return phone call. I emailed. A couple of days later, I received an email indicating the return could not be processed because the vendor would no longer authorize a return. Lightology is in possession of the $2000+ worth of paid product and refuses a refund.
This company is beyond unprofessional, peddling additional sales and promises of exchange and/or refund, only to leave you high and dry, and out thousands. I will never order from Lightology again, and highly encourage any future customers to steer clear of this deceitful company. The absolute worst level of service I have ever encountered.

Zero customer support, would never buy anything from them. My order was in the price range of 10 thousand dollars. Two of my lights stopped working after an hour. tried to get the sales rep on the phone for over a week, I tried the owner, was told he was on personal time and could not call me back, the store manager told me they're to busy to call customers they run their business thru email. Email won't fix my fixtures, I called the manufacture directly and finally started getting answers to get a fix. One of my other fixtures arrived cracked in half, still could not get a return call. My location is less than a mile from their store, I wonder how they do with out of state customers. I have a choice on where we spend our money, they won't get another penny of mine.

Complete waste of money, we had them come to our house to give advice on lighting. Totally worthless! They couldn't suggest size of chandelier, she said "I don't know a few feet tall". They didn't know g9 bulbs come in led, suggested we replace all the switches instead for proper dimming. No information on lighting color, just said that different brands can be different colors. Not good pricing. Very slow with ordering. Don't pick up their phones. Always suggest a higher cost solution when something better and cheaper available. Go to crest lighting! I learned they give free inhome consultation, are much kinder, and have same products.

They carry a beautiful selection of lighting but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Scheduling delivery took an endless series of calls. They recommended Intellis for installation and when that became a disaster for me it the problem their referral caused for me "wasn't their problem." An expensive fixture arrived damaged and no return call. I used to be in love with this store, now, not so much.

Poor customer service sums it up by what might be one salesperson's inexperience. The salesperson refused to visit the job site to assist in explaining the layout she designed for the track & monorail lighting and said that she was unable to provide any drawings or diagrams of her plan.
My client (also in the industry as a designer) was sold materials that would not work in conjunction with each other (wrong wattages) in her condo and was then asked to pay a restocking fee of 50% for returning the parts. In addition, she would have to pay for the correct parts rather than receive a credit or exchange for the incorrect parts that were sent. Parts were missing from the order which was delivered to the job site and the salesperson then wanted someone to pick up the missing parts at their warehouse. My client reluctantly drove the incorrect parts across town and collected the missing parts from the warehouse.

I initially contacted Lightology regarding a single light fixture for my modern contemporary new build. I found the team there to be so knowledgeable and helpful that they rapidly became my first point of call all the "wow" electrical features. I never thought I would buy such high-spec products online (you usually want to see the stuff first right?) but the Lightology team really helped me with my choices and I was delighted every time. I've had numerous compliments on my fixtures and I'm always delighted to recommend Lightology.
Fantastic customer service, great products, great prices and really top notch advice. I will definitely use Lightology on my next project.

Customer service is horrible! I would not purchase anything from them again and would not want anyone to go through what I have. I placed an order for a light fixture online and was told I would receive it in 2-4 weeks. After 4 weeks I called to follow up and was told that it would be another 10 weeks! No apology and only a very small discount offered. Had I not been proactive and called no one would have ever notified me. After that next 10 weeks I still had not received my fixture so called again, only to learn it would an additional 10 weeks, meaning the light was going to take 24 weeks total instead of the original 2-4 weeks I was quoted. And again, not only was there an additional delay but had I not been proactive and called no one would have informed me. Even with the additional delay I was not offered any discount from Lightology. I don't care how good their selection is they do not deserve to have customers if they is how they treat people. They did not follow up with me once, even after saying they would, and have offered less than 5% in discounts to compensate for the massive delay. I will never be giving them my business again.

I have 6 different items ordered and 5/6 shipped but never heard about the last item after leaving messages and emailing. Also none of their low cost incandescent bulbs worked on arrival although they are normal on appearance. Packaging was good, and the lamps ordered came quickly. Bulbs were another story.

Customer Service and order processing by Lightology, is inexcusable. The phones are not answered when messages are left, they are not returned. Orders are processed in a random vague way that leaves the customer randomly weeks apart receiving packages with NO communication from the company in any manner.
Here is my experience, I placed on order on April 29, 2014 and received a confirmation email, my card was charged, the items in my order were indicated to be in-stock in either the store or the warehouse. I deliberately selected my volume to match the availability. Due to the fact that this order was for an art show I needed it in a time sensitive manner so when on May 4th came I and I heard nothing from the company. I called worked my way through the phone tree and got to the web order person’s voicemail I left a detailed message including order number and return phone number. No contact! So on May 6 I tried email. I got a response that the order would be shipped in 7 to 10 business days. So to make sure I was not confused I asked from today or 7 days prior when the order was placed. The email response was for from the date I inquired about my order. So I sent another email letting them know that if the order could not be here by that Saturday to cancel it!
The next week I got 2 separate packages with a few bulbs in one and one in the other. Fast forward to May 28, 2014 when I received yet another package with 5 bulbs. Clearly the cancelation had not been recorded. So I called and called and called 16 separate calls through the phone tree starting at 3:55 pm (EST) until someone answered. That person of course was not one who could help but she transferred me to the “correct” person. Someone whose extension went straight to voicemail not five minutes prior.
Finally a human but a very unhelpful one she could not explain why the order kept coming and asked if I had received two bulbs today from the warehouse? When I said no she said oh then do you want me to cancel them? How could I have received them if they never shipped?
In all of this NOT once has the company contacted me to send a tracking number to tell me they had a backorder problem or anything else!
The bulbs I order are special LED ones and that is why I selected a company that had such positive reviews. BUT clearly this unprofessional, incomplete manner in which they have handled my order indicates that there exists. Systematic fatal flaws in their filament and customer service processes that and unacceptable.

Lightology is such a gem of a place in Chicago! Their store's display's are fantastic and their staff is beyond helpful. We purchased most of our lighting for our home from Lightology. If they didn't have something on the floor, they were quick to locate tear sheets and websites for our review. Pick-up was super easy. Their staff is extremely knowledgable and helpful. I would highly recommend Lightology to anyone looking for one light or a complete new project.

We were disappointed to determine that this customer wrote a negative review on Houzz rather than contacting us first to remedy the problem. We reviewed the order and determined after some investigation that the product shipped was unfortunately pulled from an “open box” stock area and as such, was shipped to the customer by mistake. To fix the situation, we immediately shipped the customer a brand new item and, as compensation for the inconvenience, offered him an additional store credit towards a future Lightology purchase.

Lightology is a lighting showroom, and lighting website unlike anything else I've ever seen. I've always had a passion for lighting, and decided to see what I could do to add a little style to my house, my sister's place, and my neighbor's place.
They've got a tremendous selection in the showroom, and great salespeople that helped me make what turned out to be perfect selections for a whole bunch of different areas. Did kitchens, a hall, a bedroom, and even some cool stuff for my neighbor's deck!
If you've never been to the showroom, you really should pop by, and ask if you can see the rooftop garden. If you can't make it, try the site. Some really cool lighting is there!
