Commented: How are the light strings attached to the beams? Love the look.I would recommend using shielded staples for this type of application. This will secure the wire and also protect it from rubbing against an unprotected metal or be damaged by swelling wood.

Commented: Great tropical warmth with the lighting....We only do the lighting so I really can't answer your question about roofing materials. This is a private residence and have no one with any disabilities so no, there are no ramps.
