“We worked with Hartley & Hill Design to completely renovate and redesign our kitchen last summer. They were fantastic and we cannot say enough about how wonderful they were. We met with them and described the concepts that we wanted (functional and classic, keeping in mind that we like to entertain, but we have small children and a busy family life). They put together the design and sat down with us to explain their ideas very thoroughly and also run through the budget. They came up with a fantastic design that we never would have thought possible, incorporating very creative ideas, while still keeping in mind our budget as well as our personal preferences. It was a very collaborative process, with us being as involved as we wanted to be, but not feeling like we had to manage a project; they expertly managed the project for us! All of the subcontractors they hired were first class. The renovation was very well organized, there was consistent open communication, any hiccups along the way (as will happen in any project this size) were managed smoothly and effectively. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the end result. We can't wait to use them again soon to redesign our dining room/living room area. We would highly recommend them!”

“Our experience with Caryn Paradis was excellent from start to finish. We had an unfinished basement that we wanted to finish and didn't know where to begin. Caryn talked with us in detail about how we wanted to use our basement and then came up with plans that included all of our needs as well as ideas that we hadn't even considered but should have. She was able to design a space that incorporated areas for everyone in our family, including our young son--even a stage that could be pulled apart for use as couches when he becomes a teenager! Because we live in separate states, Caryn was able to do much of the work remotely with minimal visits to our home to take measurements, etc. She had finish samples sent directly to us quickly and walked us through the decision making process. She designed specific requests, such as a fireplace for my husband and a guest room/office area. Caryn paid attention not only to the aesthetics of the job, but also the practicalities, such as outlet placement and HVAC. She also included amenities such as a well-placed dorm fridge which will come in handy when our son is old enough to use the space as a hang-out with friends. All in all, the job was smooth, well-designed and surprisingly painless. Caryn listened to our needs and then exceeded them. We would recommend her without reservation.”

“Amy Woolf is not only a skilled color consultant, she is an awesome all round decorator. I first hired Amy to help me with wall and carpet colors for the basement space we were turning into a den/media room. She not only helped me pick colors for these, but ended up helping me pick out just the right couch to bring the whole room together. To this day, whenever people see the room I hear some variation of the statement, “I really like the colors you picked!” Next Amy helped me with the dining area in my townhouse. Since the dining area is part of a large room that includes the kitchen and living room, there was a lot to coordinate with. Amy had a way of asking me the kinds of questions that helped me understand my own design preferences and gave me the ability to narrow down what colors, textures, and styles would look best. The result was a room that is both highly functional and beautiful. I would hire Amy again in a heartbeat for any design project, large or small!”

“We began working with Leah in February 2011. It is always a pleasure to work with Leah. She helped us with several projects and we trust her advice. Leah helped us redo our bedroom. First she helped us choose curtains, then Leah picked out the perfect paint colors for our bedroom, closet and bathroom. Next she built the rest of the room around the colors in the curtains, adding other patterns that coordinated with the curtains. Leah helped us choose furniture, lamps, and a rug that were appropriate for the room. Leah also helped us update our kitchen. She assisted us in selecting quartz countertops and a subway tile back-splash. Leah also helped us reframe and place pictures in our home. She is now guiding us with furnishing our new porch.
